If i remember correctly, like at the end of all MGS games, there is a phone conversation that Ocelot has with someone, i believe.
If my memory serves me correctly, i remember him saying, "What should i do with the girl?"
Who is this mysterious girl? :ocelot:

He was speaking with solidus....and if it was the otacon ending I guess he was talking about Meryl....dont know for sure...(been a long time since I played it...)

I think its Meryl in the Otacon ending, but I don't know who it could be in the Meryl ending. MGS2 follows the Otacon ending, and doesn't MGS4 feature Meryl? I'm sure I've seen her in some of the screen shots. This could mean that Meryl wasn't actually dead at the end of MGS1 and she some how survived. Hmm?

Actually, it doesn't follow the Otacon ending. The stealth camo at the beginning would be an indicator of it, but the infinite ammo bandanna at the end, is also an indictor of the Meryl ending. Furthermore, as you've already mentioned she's in the MGS4 trailer, alive.
Also, if you bothered to read the included material on the actual game disk, the long book written by Natasha, then you would know that the Meryl ending is the correct one.

I've assumed it was Naomi...for reasons i cannot recall to repost right now...but there was a good reason to believe it was her...hold on, I know its around here somewhere...damn... I'll say it later.

I think it is Meryl, since she is gonna be in MGS4, maybe the ending in which she survives is not the canon, it would be rasonable since in the ending where Meryl dies Otacon and Snake seems to be getting along damn well and it´s more likely that they´ll end up working together, in the other ending Snake just requested a team to go rescue Otacon.

Well that kinda goes out the window cause a MGS4 wasn't even considered at the time.
I still can't recall what I had heard before that made me think it was Naomi.

err i think its olga or rose or someone like that from number two because in the MGS2 guide and on Nastasha's books on MGS2 it says that Shadow moses was all planned by the patriots and it says about rose and raiden been planned aswell
