Title: Caldera TUT
Description: The Unofficial Truth

Caldera - October 12, 2006 04:58 AM (GMT)
Caldera TUT is actually a finnish project I started some months ago, aimed at telling the background of some of the MGS characters. I translated my first story in english in 2 days because I couldn't think of anything better to do.

I'm not sure if I'll translate the rest as well, but if I do, I'll post them in this same topic as well.

The Unofficial Truth Part - I

Empty Mind (Psycho Mantis)

The year is 1963. An ordinary family is having a rather special day as they are having their first child only in a matter of moments. The boy child that was born, but the labor was not easy. It was a small miracle that the doctors were able to recover the child from almost certain death, but was not able to recover his mother whom died while giving birth.

In reality the hospital was not your everyday hospital used by the public and neither was the operation room, nor the doctors. The doctors there had used equipment on the mans wife that he has never, ever seen before. He of course tried to get a clear image of what was going on since the other doctors were running around like a disaster had happened somewhere nearby as well. Whatever was going on, it sure kept the staff busy.

Although the man was given his first child, a baby boy, all he still could think of was “This boy cost me my wife!” and was infuriated by the fact on his way home. His wife was as elusive as ever, but he loved her much although he had absolutely no idea neither what she was doing for her work, nor why she had insisted that she was taken to that exact hospital. All he knew was that that trip cost him someone dear to him.

As time passed on the man started spending more and more time at his working place as well as in the local pubs, drinking his worries and anger away. He also started to feel that he missed his wife less and less and started hating his son ever more day after day.

After the son had reached his 5 years birthday mark he started feeling a strange and unpleasant feeling, but he was not able to locate where it came from and neither was he able to recognize what it was. They weren’t voices, but they weren’t really feelings or emotions either. All he knew was that they were far from being pleasant and were rather senses of anger. It felt gross and powerful.

With even more time falling down in the hourglass the boy started feeling that same… sensation more often and he was finally able to locate where it actually came from. Shockingly he felt that the source of it had to be his own father. This was confirmed when he saw his father looking at him and the boy felt a strong spike of this very same sensation, there was no doubt about it, that hatred came from his father and he knew it.

For some time the boy was able to deal with this feeling, but it did not go away, but only grew stronger and stronger as time passed by and eventually the boy felt that his very own existence was being cursed. The boy started feeling fear himself as he grew scared of his father ever more day after day.

Finally the boy could not handle this situation anymore and as his father went to get some sleep the boy decided to sneak out and get some gasoline out of the garage and emptied the whole can on the living room. He lit up a match and tossed it at the lake and ran away from the house to hills near from where he lived in.

As he reached the hills he looked down at the village and saw the fire spread across the small town he used to live in. From up there it didn’t look like a town anymore, but rather just a large bonfire with large sparks dancing around the fire against the dark night. Without a doubt the sight was very beautiful as the sparks kept dancing around the large bonfire… sparks… no… they weren’t sparks. They were people set on fire and screaming to the night. To the boy it was a very beautiful sight and the voices seemed more like a song that was sang from a distant to the boy. He kept standing on top of the hill and kept watching at the fire spreading across the large camp fire and watching the sparks dance around the ground singing their own song.

Although the boy had psychics abilities this skill was numbed down by the beautiful fire against the dark night with the stars shining down on the scenery.

As the fire finally had set down and the sparks stopped their celebration he decided to set off to travel towards another town nearby which where most of the survivors propably headed off towards as well.

The boy was finally able to get rid of the man the man that he was so afraid of, but he was not able to really forget about him and so he wakes up to the same nightmare where his father keeps cursing his existence which always ends to the moment where he’s finally standing on top of the hill again, looking down at the burning village.

As the boy lived in the new town his telepathic skills just kept increasing in time and soon he was able to make out single thoughts as well and not just strongest emotions as he walked down the streets.

A man: “Aaagghh…. I really wonder if anyone will notice my pantyhoses…”

A woman: “Oh no! The time is so much already! I’m going to be late soon!”

A smiling boy: “Why nobody loves me? Why nobody cares about me?”

A small girl: “I wonder if he has any feelings for me…? He’s actually kinda cute…”

The flow of thoughts… secrets, pain, depression, stress… all of this kept forcing their path to the young telepathists mind, but luckily for now he was still able to lock these thoughts out if he wanted, but even that was getting harder and harder every day.

Without being able to fully block these thoughts the young boys mind kept flooding with all kinds of thoughts, but soon he saw that all these thoughts aimed towards one single thing. Being able to pass on ones DNA and all these pornographic details was enough to make the boy feel sick.

As the boy practiced his skills, wanted it or not, a certain type of people gained interest on him and the boy gained interest on them since he was not able to read their minds. For few days they tried to gain as much information from each other as possible without a direct contact and fairly soon these ordinary looking men decided to capture the boy who couldn’t resist them as he weren’t for some strange reason able to read their minds like he was with everyone else

.The men appeared to be agents of some hazy organization that didn’t say anything to still pre-teen aged boy, but he agreed to co-operate with them as they were offering a shelter where he could practice his telepathic skills without those sickening thoughts as well as having a shelter to sleep and food to stay alive, there just were no reason for the boy to refuse such an offer.

Through years he was practicing and honing his skills and were able to read peoples minds better than ever before and saw that all people wanted was to escape the emptiness of their minds through other people, or several activities. This emptiness disgusted the young boy and so he decided… “If they wanted so badly to get rid of the emptiness in them. Then I’ll just do them a favor and kill them all.”

I wanna see the rest too, and other characters as well. Are you putting the finnish version to some netsite? I'd really like to see it.

pimpael - October 12, 2006 02:14 PM (GMT)
That was awesome! Can't wait to see one for vulcan Raven

Well... you can see the finnish versions of them in the Kojima-Visions? website under "Artikkelit, fan-fic, teorisointi" section.

@pimpael: Sorry.... I don't have vulcan Raven covered even in the original finnish version and I don't think I'll be able to make it as I'm aiming to be as realistic and true to the official story as much as possible (Hence "Unofficial Truth") and quite frankly we don't know enough about Raven for me to work on it.

But I'll try my best to translate the rest as well.

By the way... thanks BigK and lion. ^_^ Really appreciate hearing other writers comments. :P

Wow very good caldera :thumb:
I'm looking forward to the other stories.

OcelotSnake - October 12, 2006 03:22 PM (GMT)
Awesome work Cal, maybe you should do one on Raven despite his lack of background info. All I know is that he took part in the same sledging races as Snake did back in Alaska...or something :P

-Shalashaska- - October 12, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)
Great one cal, really it´s pretty cool. Wouldn´t expect any less from you. :thumb:

Muikuli - October 12, 2006 06:17 PM (GMT)
You should really translate your other stories too. I read them in Finnish and they are REALLY good. I liked especially your story about The Boss and the cobra unit during WWII... ^_^

Offtopic: And that site seems to be really good finnish MGS site. Maybe I should register there too.

Hahaah... that one actually seemed a bit cheesy to me, but hey... if you loved it, I'm not complaining. :haha: But I'm kinda surprised that you didn't know about that forum, but meh... oh well, if you decide to join at least I'm happy to welcome you there.

@OcelotSnake: I might do that someday, but it'll take time... however it won't be a part of TUT since well.... simply not enough information. But who knows? Maybe I'll do that someday anyways. ^_^ I just kinda wonder what I could write about...

And yeah.... big thanks for PV and Fedeeh as well. Really appreciate it hearing it from you guys. :thumb:

Cheers,

Caldera, have you considered making your own fan fic? Judging by what I read, you'd have definate skills as a writer. :thumb:

Well, maybe that story wa a bit cheesy when I read it till the end, but I liked the idea as we don't know a lot about The Boss' past. Raiden's story was good too. I just kinda laughed to the idea of a 6 year old to be feared soldier and named "Jack The Ripper" :P

Btw. That site actually was the first MGS site I found, but when I tried to find it again, I couldn't :(

Well... yes and no...You all know that I love to write, but if I don't know about the subject it dies pretty much immediately. I also have really big troubles at writing a dialogue, so I've kept my stories on a rather large time scale with low amount of details, but just enough to give the reader the image of what's going on.

I'm just way better at writing about long term happenings than on something that takes place on just few days perhaps. But mmmhhh.... in a sense TUT is a fanfic too, afterall it's Unofficial. :haha:

Agh... I'm going to have a busy weekend, so I doubt I don't have too much time to write, but I think I can finish translating the next one on next week... can't promise anything really though.

The Unofficial Truth Part - II

Army of the Devil

1989, Liberia;

It was June 6th when Jim Houseman made a call to the Liberia to discuss their future plans which included causing a revolt in Liberia. Charles Taylor had always been rather unpleased with the regimes current leaders and it was easy for Houseman to convince the man to collect all his trusted men to group up a small army, the National Patriotic Front of Liberia to fight the current administration.

To help things a little the Patriots wanted Houseman to appoint a young Lieutenant Sears to help matters evolve a bit more smoothly as they had long ago seen the superior strategic thinking this man had and true to his nature he was appointed as second-in-command only responsible for Taylor himself.

Because of this authority he wanted to work behind the curtains and out of the spotlight so that he could operate even somewhat uninterrupted and with absolute free hands. The man was also as ruthless as he was talented and young.

He went through several battle scenarios in his mind to come up with what kind of army would be most efficient when it came to destructiveness and discreet actions and the results were obvious. Child soldiers would have the biggest potential in conflict as they are more easily manipulated, smaller and also has a psychological effect on the opposition as they might hesitate more with shooting a young child.

However his recruiting methods did not come second with his plans when it came to morality. He would mostly recruit orphans promising them a “family”, food and a shelter to sleep in and the young boys were instantly wrapped around his finger. Sometime he weren’t as choosy if the children were actually orphans, or not as it was not uncommon for the man to shoot their parents in front of the children’s eyes, especially if they appeared to be unwilling to join up and needed to be “coaxed”.

Such was the case with a 5 year old Warren whom was happily playing with his mother, while they were waiting for his father in a playground. Soon after he showed up a couple of military men came to the area and snatched the other children. As Warren saw this he tried and succeeded in escaping these guys hiding in a basement where he had previously found his own “secret passage” as he used to call it.

Of course the soldiers knew he had to be around and probably saw them as well, so the head of the group whom appeared to be a young official shouted to the boy.

“Come out and we just might save your mother instead of ravaging her before shooting her. However for your unacceptable actions we will kill your father no matter what you do.”

It was in that instant that Warren saw a flash of light accompanied by a thunderous sound and saw his father fall dead from being hit to the back of his head. Shaken from this sight as well as from the will to try to save his mother he decided to come out and in an instant he was cuffed and thrown to a back of a van with the other “recruited” children.

However before that was done the young man just said once again “For costing us valuable time you give me no choice but to kill her too.” And after Warren saw his mother die in front of his eyes as well he was being taken away swiftly.

The shock of seeing his parents die left Warrens mind almost numb and empty and the lieutenant used this opportunity swiftly to his advantage to totally brain wash the boy. Although Warren was not really that special in any way his unique state of mind still caused Sears to pay more attention to him than to the others and due this fact he wanted to train him himself, but first he decided to rename him as Jack.

For this Sears also ordered the amount of gun powder to be increased in Jacks food rations than to the others as he wanted to completely mold this boy into a ruthless and merciless killing machine whom could adapt to almost any kind of situations.

But before he could begin training the boy he would first have to thoroughly brainwash him and make the boy believe that he was his real father.

As for Jack he picked up the ways of the house rather well and made friends with another new recruit named Stillwater and a more experienced and one of the most respected one in the squad named Wargrave. For some reason Jack was the only one whom wasn’t called by their last name, although he found this peculiar he just passed it with a shrug.

However as Wargrave was one of the most experienced and one of the oldest in the squad he had already gained his group of followers behind him and it really didn’t last long for this one to start plotting escape from the training facilities.

Wargrave also offered the chance to escape to the young newcomer Jack whom he grew to like, but as the boy was heavily drugged and still in a mild shock he declined from the offer as he also lacked any kind of battle experience as well as confidence. Something that Wargrave seemed to have plenty of for an unknown reason.

After a couple of weeks during one evening when the barracks were getting ready to get some sleep a count was being held which caused its own amount of little hassle. As the count was finished Wargrave and 4 others used this opening to hide inside the main facility where the weapons were stored when not in use and waited for the tranquility of the night to fall in.

As the facility grew ever more silent the small group finally decided to take action and first sneaked their way to the weapons storage, picked it open and chose some knives and silenced pistols so that they could make their escape unnoticed.

However even without lethal weapons 5 experienced combatant children were lethal weapons on themselves as the hallway were mostly guarded by some single guards whom had no chance at all over being ambushed by 5 elite child soldiers they had trained and acquiring weapons only made their advancement just that more easy.

However despite the fact that the group of five managed to get outside the fence unnoticed they had forgotten about the central sniper tower which still had one guard whom noticed some movement in the distance and alarmed some troops to check it out.

The surrounding did not offer much cover for the brave boys, so it wasn’t too hard thing for the guards to notice them in the moonlight with the aid of some search lights.

The guards weren’t too interested in capturing the boys alive so they opened fire at them and 2 of them were killed in an instant. The rest remaining 3 boys had also opened fire at the guards but since they only had semiautomatic pistols they never had a chance against the guards whom were using assault rifles and sniper rifles in the wide open range.

During the firefight the rest 3 were wounded as well and it didn’t take long for the guards to capture them all and to take them back to the facility. As a first thing in the next morning these 3 remaining children were executed in front of the others and at the same time the lieutenant Sears once again declared that they do not need single soldiers, no matter how good and that they can execute even the most experienced ones, if they just give a reason for it.

The battle training for Jack and Stillwater begun quite soon the incident and the first weapons being mostly just pistols and some hand to hand training.

The year 1990;

Jack was on his late fifth birth year and now it was time for him to give up with low grade pistols and start practicing shooting with assault rifles, but mostly with an AK of various types since that was the weapon he was going to be mostly using throughout the world.

Assault rifle training however was common for every recruited child in the facility, but one training that was unique to Jack only was handling a combat knife, and as a trainer Jack got the lieutenant himself.

The training included how to wield the blade properly as well as how to use the knife as a threatening weapon and as lethal as possible. For some reason Jack never got to handle the blade too well and quite frankly he seemed a bit clumsy with it, but not in the same way as most people new to blades.

Sears saw that if the boy cannot handle a blade, there must be something else that he might be able to handle better and that’s when he realized what it was. A sword. Jack was trying to use the short bladed as a sword which just did not work, but his handling would be perfect for a real sword, so the lieutenant tried to get his hands on a katana.

As he was able to wield the boy with a real sword it did not take long for the man to realize that he was right. The boy was a natural swordsman.

1991, Liberia:

The 1 year rigorous training was coming to an end and Jack now has 1 year of battle experience as well, which was starting to show alongside with the special training received from lieutenant Sears himself.

Jack was no longer a disobeying young child that would hesitate his actions even for a split second. Actually it was getting to be quite the opposite. The young child was actually starting to enjoy seeing his opponents fall dead before him and he especially started to enjoy close quarters combat which allowed him to see his victims expressions and voices.

This was due the fact that the boy no longer was satisfied with just shooting the enemies, he wanted to be up close. Due this fact it was not a rare sight for the merciless killer to sneak up on his victims and slit their throats if possible using a knife, or impale them on his sword that he also liked to carry for some missions.

During this time Jacks closest friend was a boy that was recruited with him at the same time, Stillwater. Together these 2 boys had seen most of the battle together, but lately Jack had become more and more blood thirsty and this clearly showed in his actions and it was this development that scared the young Stillwater.

Due to the new found nervousness in Stillwater his concentration also started to decline and in a ordinary everyday firefight Stillwater unknowingly accidentally lifted his head just a bit too much and it did not take long for him to get shot in the head.

Because Stillwater belonged to one of the most trusted and most essential support persons it did not take long for the whole squad to fall in slight doubt and panic and some children got killed in just a matter of moments. Those whom survived the sudden collapse soon made their escape and started returning to the barracks due the failed mission.

Because the unit had lost one quite critical combatant whom was quite important for the whole squad Sears was forced to regroup his soldiers and due the fact that Jack had become the follower of Wargrave when it became to fame and kill records he was awarded with his own squad, the Small Boy unit.

Only after a couple of months when Jack was appointed as the lead of the unit he started to gain fame also within the enemy troops and rumors about an army of the devil that used undead child soldiers to battle spread across Jacks opponents. However the most known rumor was still a story about a small figured white haired boy whom loved to sneak through the darkness and either stab them with a knife, or occasionally slash them with his sword and it was this factoid that he was given the nickname Jack the Ripper.

On the other hand he was also known as the White Devil after being able to almost single-handedly eliminate troops by using an assault rifle aided by grenades and pistols and no matter how hard they tried they would never be able to defeat the boy, or the unit. Several times they were close to victory, but that was also the moment when Jacks allies would get him out of the sling.

The matter of undead children however came from the fact that all of the soldiers in the Small Boy unit were heavily drugged and with a fogged mind they moved inhumanly systematically almost slaughtering their foes from their way. Some also claimed that it was lead by the devil himself and some believed that this is why the boy was called the White Devil, but that always dependent on who was telling the story.

But still all of this was only a beginning.

On the year 1984 born boy became more and more addicted to blood and death as the time passed by and slowly he started resembling a psychotic blood lusting mindless vampire whom just wanted to pain the world with the red of his enemies and this also showed in the material damage that became.

The rest of the troop followed his tracks as well and thus they started unsparingly use the available resources and materials that they were able to acquire, anything from explosives, weapons and even some vehicles and the damage made for the other fold started to double fold in a brief time and due this the advancement of war accelerated greatly in favor of the National Patriotic Front of Liberia.

On the year 1995:

The war had finally started showing some signs of calming and due this fact there was no longer need for such a shadowy and scandalous group as the Small Boy unit and thus the boys were all being liberated from the fires of war. Many of those whom were fighting under the jurisdiction of lieutenant Sears had died, even from the Small Boy unit, but Jack the Ripper had survived although his body showed the scars of battle. The survivors were orphans once again.

As they were taken in by relief centers the brainwashing and the affect of gunpowder that was being mixed to the food decreased dramatically and the boys slowly became more and more conscious of their past and environment.

When Jack started once again remembering his past and what he had done he felt, that all he wanted to do was to forget all about it and escape to somewhere else where he could have a completely new fresh start.

Escaping from the center he really had nowhere to go but to wander about. However it did not take long for Sears to report about the missing boy and about his merits in battle and for this reason the CIA grew very interested in the boy.

Although Jack was still missing in action it did not take too long for them to track him down thanks to the wide reputation he had gathered and when Jack heard their offering it was hard to refuse from it.

However what the young boy did not know was that he would eventually be brainwashed once again to be used like a tool like before, but that was still in the distant future. For the time being he would now be carrying his new code name, Snake.

Caldera

That was spectacular!
Just, WOW!

Marry me Caldera?

It really does bring a new light to Raiden’s dark past. Raiden is a very misunderstood character and this really helps us understand him and more.

To tell the truth I didn’t want to read all that but I knew if you wrote it, it was gonna question many beliefs and uncover a lot of untold story. So I was hooked in no time. :D

The storytelling was just amazing, what you said about just giving the reader enough information to know what’s going on, great technique.

I love the fact that Raiden got satisfaction out of killing, I love those kinds of stories.

Just one thing though, you refer to Raiden as Jack when he was at the playground with his mother but it was my understanding that Solidus renamed him Jack? But whatever…

The background of Psycho Mantis was also brilliant

Keep’ em coming, these stories are great! :thumb:

Naughty Caldera, double posting like that… :haha: just kidding, it was necessary.

Muikuli - October 18, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
Good job at translating that one too. Well done caldera

Caldera - October 19, 2006 09:34 AM (GMT)
Hahaah... well... I am single and available you know Tamashi.

Anyways, it is true that Solidus named Raiden, but.... meh... suppose I missed that one, but then again I suppose it is possible that his name coincidently was Jack.

Meh... I'll edit some other name in. Thanks for the noticification. ^_^

Ohh crap... I just noticed my double post now that you mentioned it... Gees... I must give a verbal notification to my self then. :haha:

@Caldera; Please try not to double post again, if you do, I'll have to warn you.

Whoah... now that was skitchofrenic... Anyways, thanks for the comments, I truly appreciate it. ^_^

I hope to get my next installment of TUT translated sometime nextweek, but... it's going to be tough, we'll see.

Truly sorry for my continuouse double posting in this topic, but I suppose it can slide this time as I bring forth the third installment of my The Unofficial Truth project.

This one is slightly different from the previouse ones, but I hope you enjoy it just as much.

The Unofficial Truth - Part III

The Joy, The Sorrow, The Son part 1/2

1944 16. april, Pentagon, room 203D:

Colonel: Ahh…. It was you… I actually wanted to see you…. Sit down, sit down, cigar?

Woman in rain coat: I don’t smoke, you know that, Sir.

Colonel: I suppose I did… especially in your ”condition”. Well… I am certain that you have heard about the most recent plans for the final push to defeat the Axis powers.

Woman: Yes, sir, but how do a group such as us fit to a massive assault conducted by the air, land and sea forces?

Colonel: Don’t worry about something like that, your mission is easy, simple and fast done. Nothing miraculouse needed.

Woman: So why did you call us? Can’t some special force of army handle it?

Colonel: It is completely possible, but I suggested that we would use you as the importance of this mission is still very high.

Woman: So you wanted to make sure nothing fails?

Colonel: Something like that… What we were thinking about is that we would send you to France before the main forces. Your mission is to capture, or to eliminate an american defector, most likely he will be under military escort, but shouldn’t be a problem for you. Here’s the file on the target himself, his name is Greig Byrde.

Woman: I’ve seen him before somewhere…

Colonel: I’m not surprised, actually you should have… He is a german double agent whom goes by many names and I am sure you have seen him, if not met him on several of your missions before.

Woman: Now I remember him… but I thought he was from Soviet Union…

Colonel: Like I told you… he is known with several names… However our most recent intel proved us that his loyalty layed somewhere else. Apparently he has been selling top secret information to the Nazies and now we have to stop him from revealing all of our plans.

Woman: Including the invasion I suppose… that would cause the death of thousands. But if he has already jumped…

Colonel: This happened an hour ago. He killed our american contact before escaping with SS agents. We had… a greeting team ready for him.

Woman: So you were plannign to get rid of him already then?

Colonel: We had our doubts yes. Now I am sure that you understand that all this intel is hihgly classified as it is fresh out of the oven. The mission itself is very simple and easy, but the importance is crucial. The name for the operation is ”Mouse Trap” and it going to be conducted immediately. If you don’t get the target alive, eliminate him, the most important thing is that the information does not change hands.

Woman: Mouse Trap, huh? Because the Snake is going to get some snack, huh?

Colonel: The jeep is already outside waiting for you. The rest of the COBRAS wait you at the air port, rest of the mission willbe given to you while you’re on air, good luck and god speed.

The very next day at Brest, in the air space of France:

Johnny SR. To himself: ”Strange bunch of people… the guy with the Crossbow especially makes me nervouse…The woman is quite gorgeus though… unfortunately. I hope we’re there soon, I really don’t know how long I can hold my tummy together. I hope I won’t meet these guys in my next assignment at the GRU though…”

Johnny: RED LIGHT! MAKE SURE YOUR STRAPS ARE FASTEN AND SECURED! PREPARE FOR THE JUMP!

Johnny: GREEN LIGHT! GET ON LINE FOR THE JUMP, ONCE YOU LAND CONTACT THE HEADQUARTERS WITH THE RADIO FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, NOW GO, GO, GO!!

After the COBRAs had gone:
Johnny: At last… couldn’t have hold it for a minute longer…! I hope I’m gonna make it… no, no, NOOO! Not again….

After a good time of falling the COBRAs land safely and seemingly undetected on the land of Brest.

The Joy: Colonel, can you hear me?

Colonel: Loud and clear, what’s the situation?

The Joy: The jump was a success. People propably took as adrenaline addicts and amateurs. What’s the situation with the ”Rat”? Where should we head from here?

Colonel: The ”Rats” submarine weren’t quite as fast, at least we haven’t hear anything from our contacts. You gained on him and got ahead of him, good job people. We estimate that you have about 2 hours before the target arrives, make sure you use that time to your advantage. We are sure that the enemy escort will be heavily secured, but they also want the target to be escorted safely fast, so expect some jeeps and bikes.

The Joy: Roger and out.

The Joy: The End, The Fear you conduct the actual ambush and make the first shots. The End, take out the drivers of the jeeps and bikes, or whatever we will face, The Fear you take care of the other soldiers being transported by the vehicles.

The Joy: The Sorrow, you take care of the diversion and give fire support as needed right after the first shot by The End. I’ll take care of anyone that remains and the target itself.

T was already late in the evening and the Nazies wanted to use the darkness of the night as the Target finally came to shore and was greeted by the escorts. As they made their direction back to base a gunshot from distanse was heard and the lead car crashed to the trench. This was followed by a series of other shots and a rain of arrows, the convoy had no chance but to stop.

There were also 2 trucks in the convoy and the Nazi soldiers quickly jumped off to take shelter and to protect the target which was when they noticed something VERY strange. From almost total nothingness a man with a cape emerged, which confused the soldiers especially when some of their brothers in arms dropped their weapons and took a run for their life yelling coherently about ghosts and walking dead soldiers.

The men that remained raised their weapons and fired at the caped man, but apparently with no results whatsoever.

The drivers and soldiers that were visible were all killed in less than 5 seconds and almost a third of the soldiers being transported by the truck just took off leaving the rest would be taken to a deadly dance with The Joy.

The joy equipped a knife as well as a handy small pistol for quick moving and aiming. Slicing through a soldiers neck with a knife while shooting another from accross the road to the opposing trench to the head while the rest of the mens hand were being tied by invisible hands. Mysteriously they couldn’t even counter attack as the lady took them out in a beautiful yet deadly dance.

In some moments all that was alive anymore besides the COBRA’s was the target himself in a small stream of blood. Soon the target was surrounded by three of the members of this special forces group and in sight of a fourth.

The Joy was just about to contact the base of a successful mission as they abruptly noticed a dramatically increased amount of hornets. But the Pain was left out of the mission, how could there be so many hornets?

The Sorrow: I am incredibly sorry, but my friends over at GRU did not believe that this was about some invasion. Up until now the United States has been keeping the Philosophers Legacy to themselves and I somehow believe that this man got hold on it somehow. He couldn’t pass over the information through a radio, not because of some encyption, or because it was unsafe to do so, but because he would have revieled acquiring the microfilm that way.

The Sorrow: I cannot allow it that you Americans keep it to yourself and neither can I accept that it would be taken by the Axis powers. Soviet Union wants her portion of the Legacy!

The Joy: The Sorrow… why? The war ain’t even over yet…. How can you…?

The Sorrow: I’ll tell you later when we meet, I am sure we will, America is too selfish to let me go with this microfilm. We will see again soon enough, count on it.

After he had sayed this a Soviet civilian helicopter appeared to the scene where were standing The Fury and The Pain whom lowered a sleeping The End to the ground and took The Sorrow with them leaving The Joy, The End and The Fear to the ground observing their departure.

The Joy calls the Colonel and reports what had happened.

Colonel: I see…. This is bad… Philosophers Legacy AND The Sorrow? This is very bad…. Not just because of the money, but also because of the amount of information that The Sorrow has… he knows way too much. We can’t let him tell our secrets to the communists!

Colonel: Anyways… we want you to stay there… Like you already know there will be a important invasion soon and we want you to help them out in any way possible. We need all the help we can get for it and you’re one of our finest… men… that we have.

The Joy left to France all the way to the fatal day of 6th of July 1944 when a couple of Allied soldiers and tanks made it to the shore of Normandy.

As she was taking care of less important issues for the Allied forces in France The Joy was having a labour and his child had started to born. However the birth was not easy and a caesarean section in a local field hospital. The operation was succesfull however soon after the birth the hospital was raided by a group of unknown special forces and the baby was snatched away from her.

After the invasion in Normandy The Joy had to return to the U.S. where she got yet another mission to train a soldier whom ears were as wet as a rookies.

non of these are better or worse than any of the others in any way shape or form in my opinion

and upon re-reading, the SPAG was pretty poor

wow dude these are ace, i always like readin up on the history of games i play, i think the Jack one was best

did you write these or just translate them?

Ummh... actually both... I first wrote these in finnish in a finnish MGS forum and now I'm translating these. Making some changes and upgrading here and there... if I were translating someone elses work I would have mentioned about it, so no... these are 100% my own production of my imagination and information on MGS.

Also, don't say what is best from your opinion, especially when my personal favorite is still just waiting to be translated. ;)

I finally had the chance to read the whole three ... and because you got through all the trouble of writing them ... here is my fairly close review as an amateur that is (to be fair) :P

I liked Empty Mind most ... I guess because Psycho Mantis is one of my favorite caharcters in MGS ... he is very intersting and you were very successful in choosing the right words to describe the events and the way it feels to the caharcters while living it ...like this part for examble

QUOTE
Although the man was given his first child, a baby boy, all he still could think of was “This boy cost me my wife!” and was infuriated by the fact on his way home. His wife was as elusive as ever, but he loved her much although he had absolutely no idea neither what she was doing for her work, nor why she had insisted that she was taken to that exact hospital. All he knew was that that trip cost him someone dear to him

though a bit random and lacks smoothness still not bad ... here is my favorite part though:

QUOTE
As he reached the hills he looked down at the village and saw the fire spread across the small town he used to live in. From up there it didn’t look like a town anymore, but rather just a large bonfire with large sparks dancing around the fire against the dark night. Without a doubt the sight was very beautiful as the sparks kept dancing around the large bonfire… sparks… no… they weren’t sparks. They were people set on fire and screaming to the night. To the boy it was a very beautiful sight and the voices seemed more like a song that was sang from a distant to the boy. He kept standing on top of the hill and kept watching at the fire spreading across the large camp fire and watching the sparks dance around the ground singing their own song

cool smooth stuff :thumb:

the second best is Army of the Devil I liked the order you took in telling the events of the stroy ... it was very smooth and doesn't bored the reader ... not bad at all ... this is a very intersting part and to tell you the truth I have no idea why.

QUOTE
He went through several battle scenarios in his mind to come up with what kind of army would be most efficient when it came to destructiveness and discreet actions and the results were obvious. Child soldiers would have the biggest potential in conflict as they are more easily manipulated, smaller and also has a psychological effect on the opposition as they might hesitate more with shooting a young child

very intersting.

The Joy, The Sorrow, The Son ... its ok but if I was to guess I think you was a bit hasty writing it ... am I right? ... anyway not to bug you but it lacks exciting details ... you gota work hard and slowly on this kind of details ... for examble the part when they ambush the escorts felt a bit random and unorganized or rather unplanned ... details of actions are the trickiest of them all to me while writing ... you gota analyze and plan every action and the way it feels for the reader.

and I gota say I'm really impressed by your commitment in doing this I might post one of my own writing in the future.

I have to agree mostly with your review... There's plenty of room for practice for me still.

Also I realize what you're saying on The Joy, The Sorrow, The son as that is very different to the other ones. I just wanted to try something different, didn't work so well, so I suppose I'll be sticking witht he more vague style that I have in others. I just ain't that good in details.

I mean.... I had a very clear picture of the events of the ambush in my head in very detailed way, but I just cannot bring the same image into text like that. Which is especially true since the plan for the COBRAS was to cause chaos within the convoy which is even harder to describe than a controlled battle event.

Did my best and that's the result... gotta see if I can improve it someday, but I just want to go on with the second part of The Joy, The Sorrow and The Son.

Ohh, by the way.... a chapter 0/2 might also be possible, but not likely. I don't even have a finnish version of it yet, but I'll see how things go after I finish translating those what I already have.

Thanks for the comments :thumb: ,

Back off Lion! He’s my man…

Anywho… That was different from your previous two… mainly due to the dramatic increase in dialogue but I guess a change of pace doesn’t hurt…?

Though, I have to say, I did enjoy the previous two more.
I just loved the way of storytelling used, as I said in my previous post.

I found the ambush scene a little hard to follow however… I always have trouble following written action material. Don’t know why? Not enough imagination I guess

The story was good not quite what I expected… for one thing I just couldn’t see The Sorrow doing that to The Boss, especially at that point in time (expecting a child and all). Defiantly not what I had pictured for Normandy. But its your story and as long as you’re happy with it then I’m happy. ^_^

…err

…Just curious, do you have a story on Sniper Wolf? Because that is something I’d really love to see… I mean, in MGS1 as she lay dying in the snow as she speaks of her past “I finally understand. I wasn't waiting to kill people; I was waiting for someone to kill me.” There’s just something magical about it… you know…?

Sniper Wolf: [as she is dying] I was born on the battlefield. Raised on the battlefield. Gunfire, sirens and screams... they were my lullabies... Hunted like dogs, day after day... driven from our ragged shelters... That... was my life. Each morning, I'd wake up... and find a few more of my family or friends dead beside me. I'd stare at the morning sun... and pray to make it through the day. The governments of the world turned a blind eye to our misery. But then... he appeared. My hero... Saladin... he took me away from all that...

Solid Snake: Saladin... You mean Big Boss?

It’s something I’d love to see. And I couldn’t think of anyone else better to bring it to life but you Caldera. ^_^

When I read your stories Cal… your words touch something inside of me and bring it to life… it’s almost like a rush of emotion pouring through my body. That’s how I want to feel with this story.

But I completely understand if you can’t or don’t want to do it… just a suggestion.

Always here supporting you,
Tamashi :thumb:

Maybe I should write the first part of The Boss, The Sorrow and The son again to the same form as previouse ones? Not really sure if I'm up for it though.... it would get quite short too... *sweatdrop*

Anyways, I can totally understand that it might be really hard to see why The Sorrow would do such a thing.... don't worry.... if I remember right it all will clear out in the next episode. ^_^

@Tamashi: Yes, I do have one of Sniper Wolf and it becomes after this, if I remember right... honestly TUT of Sniper Wolf is my personal favorite, I just loved writing it and I think it's my best one so far. Of course that is only my opinion, but I hope that at least some of you will agree. ^_^

I hope that I can finish the next TUT sometime next week.... cannot really promise anything as I'm not sure how busy I will be with school.

well ... I say its a good idea to write short ones for people not to get bored from reading and to keep the topic intersting.

if you get bored reading long stuff then don't read it. i love long storys, otherwise jus when you get into them they end :(

The Unofficial Truth - Part III

The Joy, The Sorrow, The Son Part 2/2

Finally after spending weeks, if not months in France and the grand invasion of Normandy The Joy were able to finally return to home in the States. However despite her almost total exhaustion in the war efforts, the government was going to push one more challenge on her shoulders.

Due to the merits she earned in the war she was titled with a new codename, being The Boss as well as a new assignment to lead a new cutting-edge experimental special forces unit that was only known by the name of Operations X. The name was meant to describe the secrecy the government wanted this unit to conduct their operations in.

The new team was also assembled due the big worries that the defection of The Sorrow had caused and they also had plans for future darker operations, so they might need a unit to do these for them. With the aid of such black ops unit they could much easier deny any events and keep the lid on all the information and prevent them from being leaked to the public at large.

To conduct such operations they also needed a promising young soldier that The Boss could train to do their bidding. Despite being heartbroken from the war after losing her child and having her lover betray her in the middle of a mission she still decided to accept this mission as she had decided that if she couldn’t live for any man, she would live for her country. It became her way of survival, to devote herself for the government and to follow them to the end.

After accepting the assignment she took off to meet with her contact that was supposed to introduce her to her new trainee. Her contact was familiar with her from the past experiences within the boot camp and they did seem to have a curious understanding between each other even if not a single word was exchanged.

The meeting was set for as public location as possible as eavesdropping would be a lot harder that way. As she met him they took for a small walk to evade any followers before setting off to meet the actual target. However, despite she knew her contact more, or less she still did not know anything else besides his last name, Ames. Ames was also a sort of a mystery for The Boss despite the mutual understanding. Before she was never been able to really read his emotions, but it was different this time. Ames seemed somehow…. Spaced out.

Against all her customs The Boss asked Ames what was bothering him, but Ames did not answer anything, but that he felt a bit concerned of the future. Later during that day however Ames finally fulfilled his part and guided The Boss to the man she was to meet.

The man seemed rather ignorant as he was smoking away his cigar, almost like nothing around him mattered to him and that everyone and everything should just let him be alone in his own world.

The Boss however did not allow this to affect her working and she started to train the man to the best of her abilities and soon the man introduced himself to The Boss as Jack. The training mostly dealt with theory of battle at first as they went through several different scenarios of their battle experience and wondered what they could have done better, what would have been the most efficient way to deal with the situations?

Very quickly their focus started to close in more and more to the close quarters battle and the efficiency of a knife in hand to hand situations. The light weight and small size of the knife makes it very efficient weapon to handle in tight spaces as well as surprise situations.

It didn’t take long for the top branch however to get some proof of improvement and so they wanted to conduct some war games training episodes where several different units took part of. The mission of different sides was to attack, ambush, and/or to defend their own base, or target. On some of these sessions an addition unit from OX was placed secretly from other sides to do some kind of goal. These were most often recon, intelligence gathering as well as other espionage missions, but also some sabotage missions were assigned for the OX units.

Almost with no exception they were using urban targets as training sites, but also some of them had some lake, or river which enabled OX units to have operations beneath the surface. The actual experience to handle weapons however were gained by taking part in more conservative war game trainings.

Almost without an exception the training missions of OX were supervised by the major Ames, whom also reported the results of the training sessions to the upper branches.

The field training and experience however was not the only thing that affected Jack and The Boss. The Boss had gotten to know her student more and more as they shared past experiences between the trainings and in the end Jack always turned to this woman no matter what the issue was.

However at the same time The Boss also went through time and time again what had happened in France. She was still able to see The Sorrow standing in the rainy dark forest road on that faithful night. As the years went by she had the urge to tell Jack, but something inside her stopped her from doing that.

The Boss hadn’t spoken of her past experiences and emotions even with The Sorrow. Although she was face to face and conversed often with Jack The Boss still started feeling lonelier and lonelier. A feeling that she had never felt before grew inside her.

The Boss wanted to be close to someone and even if she were practically attached to Jack that will and feeling did not disappear and she was neither able to forget The Sorrow.

For 10 years The Boss and Jack went through battles, trainings, as well as some actual missions and were improving their techniques to the most efficiency they could.

However in the year 1954 The Boss got the expected, but still surprising message from Ames. She was to leave to Tselinoyarsk as soon as possible to a mission. Because of this OX was disbanded and all information about it was closed and classified as Top Secret.

Very soon after she got to Tselinoyarsk she realized what it was about and major Ames confirmed that he had gained knowledge through his contacts within the KGB about some kind of a top advanced weapon that would revolutionize the term “warfare”. The Boss’s mission was to find out what the weapon was and to eliminate it if necessary.

With a submarine and a motorcycle she swiftly reached her target where she sneaked with ease through the moon illuminated nightly bridge and soon reached a surprisingly low guarded KGB’s office building.

It didn’t take long for her to find schematics and plans for a tank that had the possibility to launch nuclear missiles. It was quite clear to her as to what she were supposed to do. She collected a huge pile of TNT from the local armory and started placing small amounts of it everywhere the housing to secure maximum destruction of documents.

It was fairly easy for her to sneak around the building with the aid of many cardboard boxes that laid around the area idly. Thus she was able to place the TNT charges to crucial structure points and to detonate it.

As a result all the papers were destroyed in the explosion and only some ruins were left as the house collapsed. However a small room that she didn’t notice before still remained standing and since all the workers escaped immediately after the first explosion she was able to safely investigate the room for documents, but there were none.

As the mission went relatively without any problems to the succession she started making her return and started heading off towards the cycle. However as she reached the bridge again a familiar figure appeared in front of her.

As the man lifted the hood of his raincoat The Boss realized whom it was, it really was her lover The Sorrow. It was there when The Sorrow explained to the Boss that he had defected and brought the money over to Soviet Union because he saw that with these resources they could once again unite the world since it was split up from the Great War alongside with the COBRAs. The Sorrow seemed truly terrified of the Iron Curtain and wanted to bring it down with the Philosophers Legacy and the plans for the new weapon.

The Boss had received direct orders to destroy all documents and to eliminate anyone whom appears to go against this goal. As she thought of her assignment she realized that to complete the assignment she had to kill The Sorrow.

However The Sorrow understood The Boss’s decision to devote herself to her country and realized that she would finish her mission no matter what as The Sorrow knew that she would not back down from a mission once she set her mind to it.

But that wasn’t all, The Sorrow also realized that it would be an advantage for everyone, if he died. The Boss would finish her mission and her employs would keep the matter secret, which again meant that the world would not scar too badly from the happenings of this day. The Sorrow also knew that he would become even more powerful when he dies than he ever was alive, so he willingly submitted to his oncoming death.

The Sorrow: “You want to finish your mission, don’t you? We will meet again someday.”

The Sorrow urged his lover to finish her mission and to shoot him.

This happening however created schism between Soviet Union and the United States, which grew even bigger and bigger in the 4 years to come. They tried to keep this away from the public knowledge as much as possible and to deal with it as silently as possible

However after the president Kennedy’s assassination and the Cuban Missile crisis it became practically impossible to keep this grudge away from the public and thus Cold War was officially announced.

However this made it ever so harder to conduct covert operations, so based from the knowledge they had gained with the experimental special forces unit OX they created a yet new unit named Force Operations X, or FOX for short.

The main purpose of this unit was to eliminate any threat coming from the Soviets and to bring back the Legacy.

It was once again on that very same bridge where she had killed The Sorrow where she met her apprentice for 10 years from 4 years ago and had to throw him down from the bridge. As she did this she finally understood what the feeling she had felt.

She wanted to let someone close to her without being afraid to be hurt. She had wanted to let someone truly know her, but instead she had kept all inside her and closed the door.

As Volgin finally launched the gift she had brought to him she realized she might have met someone she could open to. She knew that she would yet again meet her child, her son, her apprentice very soon and that that would be the moment she could finally open up to someone.

Caldera

The Unofficial Truth - Part IV

Dogs of War

The year is 1988; the world is a very dangerous place. From dozens of political hot spots the war between Iraq and Iran was nearing to its conclusion. Ruined by war neither of these countries could have been classified as habitable. There was lack on everything, food, water, medicine. Every morning thousands would find someone close to them dead from the harsh cold of the night, shot by a stray bullet, or just died of a decease or lack of nutrition’s.

The Red Cross and Red Crescent did their best to aid the victims of the war, the people. But there were only so much even they could do, eventually some refugee camps turned into a mere death trap.

And this was the case for all, even for a young Kurdish girl. Every day from morning to the evening and through the night it is a battle between life and death for the girl. The weakest died swiftly around her and some of them were close to her. It was literal survival of the fittest.

During the last nerve gas attack that took place during the night the 5 year old Alean Hassan had found her cousins lying dead right next to her. All she could think at that moment was that once again she had survived through the misfortune of the others. Her family had kept her safe from breathing the gas as little as possible and lucky for her they succeeded, but with a dear price and all she had done was sleep. Guilt overcame the poor girl as she realized that they had taken her place in death.

However she still had some family left and together they left with tens, if not hundreds of other people that formed a huge refugee caravan. It was everyone’s intention to escape the war to a safer place, so they took off without a clear destination. One thing however was certain; Iran was in the verge of losing the war, so they thought that things would be better if they could defect to Iraq.

It was an easy choice for them. Either try their luck with the desert and try to cross the border, or to live in the constant fear of another gas attack somewhere near where they stayed. They all knew it would be dangerous as many would die on the desert and there were no guarantees as to what would happen once they reached the border.

They would most likely not be allowed to cross and they all knew it. However everyone was lingering on the hope “What if…?”. Some could possibly force their way to the other side, they had to try.

As fights erupted especially in the urban environment many civilians were often caught in the cross fire with fatal consequences. Sometimes it truly felt like as if they were deliberately fired upon by both parties, but there were little they could do about it.

It was clear for the soldiers that anyone of them could be a suicide bomber and neither were they interested to find out. Neither of them was interested in securing the safety, or the well being of the public.

When the caravan that Alean traveled with was only 50 kilometres away from the border were caught once again in the cross fire of the two armies that unfortunately happened to be at the same place at the same time with the caravan. They were only sniper patrols that had 2 goals on their mind. First to stop the caravan by any means necessary and the refugees, neither of them wanted the refugees and to annihilate the enemy.

Because of this the young Alean had only one option. She had to hide herself as a dead body amongst the people that had been shot. The fight was long and ferocious, the caravan was dispersed and many of them had been killed, or wounded.

As the fight finally had ceased and the night had fallen Alean noticed that she was alone in the middle of the dead bodies and the screams of agony as there were still people seriously wounded, but even most of them just laid silently on the sand as the wounds had drained all their energy and were on the verge of death.

She realized that because she was the sole survivor in the scene left she had to pack everything that she could and try to catch up with the rest of the caravan that had successfully escaped the gunfire. She went through the stuff that the dead were carrying and collected everything that she could and needed to continue the travel.

For Aleans fortune she didn’t have to just guess where the others had headed towards as they left a very clear and visible track to follow on the sand. She took all the resources she had found, mainly water and some food.

For hours she walked in the sand trying to follow the traces left behind in the chilly night desert. She was walking alone and without any proper equipment for a longer hike. It would have been pure suicide for the young girl to try to walk that distance alone in the heat of the sun without the aid of the caravan.

After walking across the desert through the whole night she was finally getting to the border where the rest of the caravan was still stuck. However it was impossible for her to find anyone from her family in there as the place was crowded with not only the caravan which Alean had traveled with, but there were also other refugee groups trying to do the very same thing.

Actually it was there where Alean heard that some of the refugee indeed did manage to cross the border to the other side with the aid of the darkness of the night. However there were also many shot trying and there were some dead bodies visibly lying on the sand, some of which were shot on the immediate proxy of the border and some had gotten even 100 metres before a fatal shot. However there were also traces that just kept on going without an end. Indeed some did manage to escape.

The travel had been exhausting for the girl and she had been forced to drop a big load of her stuff and this included almost all of the water she had taken along. Either she dropped them or danger dieing out of exhaustion.

It was not a carefree travel besides that either. Around the half way to the border she encountered an Iranian military patrol of 4 that had the orders to execute anyone going around the border. The girl were already ravish and weren’t sure if she really were there, if she was asleep, or awake.

However the Iranian troops were not alone either. The air and the atmosphere were broken by a loud and thunderous sound which echoed again and again. Soon Alean did not notice anyone around her anymore. She seemed to be alone again.

As the sun started rising and the rays blinded the young girl she weren’t able to see well. All she saw was a hazy human like figure coming towards her. As the person got closer Alean finally were able to tell something about the figure…. It was a soldier! In panic Alean tried to escape the scene, but it was already too late, she was already caught.

However as the soldier held her he started to calm the girl down. As she slowly started to calm down and grew more and more used to the glare from the sun she noticed that the soldier was not Iranian, or Iraqis soldier. Actually the man seemed to be more western origin, but Alean still weren’t totally sure about the situation. There was still something else to the man that she couldn’t point out.

The girl was in poor condition and rather ravish. She started talking about soldiers of Jihad and a soldier that conquered the crusaders, Saladin, a story that she had heard many times already. From Aleans opinion this war was a war between the extremists and this man had single handedly saved her from these war-crazed warriors.

After a short conversation Alean learned that the man was named John, apparently a U.N. soldier that offered to take the child with him to the States. As a reason for this proposition John only told that he had grown tired of governments abusing other people and wrong doings on the innocents.

Alean agreed with John and thus she was taken to the States where John took care of her and became more like a big brother to Alean whom she had lost in Iran. All her family had been killed by the war, or got lost in the desert, or otherwise just lost contact with her so it was easy for Alean to leave the war ridden country and to get away from the screams and sirens.

As time passed by Alean still weren’t able to forget what she had experienced though and she could still hear the gun fire, bombs going off, warning sirens screaming along with the wounded. She could still see the mothers crying and people dieing and she would continue to hear them for years to come.

However the girl had also decided that she could no longer just sit by and watch other people and her family die in front of her eyes although she had left all that behind. If she couldn’t escape these horrors she could just as well hunt those horrors down and this way keeping a distance to it. She could veer away from it all by becoming a soldier her self.

It didn’t take long for her to realize how easy it seemed to be to handle a sniper rifle compared to an assault rifle. Even John noticed the girls’ natural talent in handling a sniper rifle and the scores were often better than average professionals.

The screams and explosions that Alean kept hearing gave her just even more motivation and the long walk in the desert had created determination for her which is incomparable to anything. She was determined not to be the victim again and she was able to do this to the distance of the rifles effective range.

John himself had already gotten a meritorious career in the United States army and recommended an assignment for Alean, whom was already in the service her self in the war on Iraq since he was not able anymore to look after her due to “Personal Missions”. She accepted the assignment since she believed she could this way face her demons and fears for good by facing her childhood tormentors.

After she got to Iraq in the 90’s she soon formed a single woman’s special forces section which missions were sniping, cover fire as well as assassination missions. The “group” was only known as Wolf whom took part also in the operation Sand Storm.

During the war Alean “Wolf” Hassan often observed the course of war through her scope without firing a single shot. She wasn’t interested in shooting privates, or even lower rank officers. She only wanted to recognize a sole most crucial target and to eliminate him. She was more interested in disrupting the enemies operation.

After returning back to home in the States from her assignment in Iraq she was greeted by a blond guy in a trench coat with a british accent. The man introduced him as Liquid Snake whom was rather impressed with the kill list Wolf had acquired by operating in Iraq, mostly generals and colonels.

There was something very similar in the man that she had seen before, but weren’t really quite sure. She had already lost John, Saladin, so after browsing through the contract she thought that she would have best chances meeting her hero again by joining this man.

look it was great ... but this one seriously lacked research man ... I guess research has always been the boring part when it comes to writing ... I really have lots of questions and I want you to give me some answers for them.

1- what city she was in before escaping with her family?

2- what desert she crossed while escaping?

3- why she saw John as Saladin at that same desert I didn't get it?

4- what city or state of USA John took her too?

5- you wrote in 1988 she was only 5 years old ... how in hell she became a sharpshooter in sandstorm in the 90s wasn't she a little girl at the time?

sorry but I really couldn't figure these things out.

Ummh.... I really didn't think those were so important factoids in the story that I should specifically mention them... either that, or I were just lazy....

As for the point 5. Yes she was a child. Raiden held his first AK as he was 6, so is it really that strange for Sniper Wolf to hold a PSG-1 at the age of... whenever that operation took place... can't remember.

Sorry that I really can't give you more than that though. -_-

edit: The Gulf War (1990–1991) (also called the Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, or Second Gulf War). So according to that she would have been around 7, or 8 years old and took part to the war in a similar group as the Small Boy Unit, only that she mainly operated alone...

Something like this really shows that I really ain't a professional writer, but then again.... I am doing this just for the fun of it. ^_^

I meant that she was too young to be in the army ... don't worry about it ... I was just curious and I know that you really made a real effort to write it ... btw in the matter of speaking why don't you make one about Liqued ... I thought about this after you metioned liqued at the end of it :P

Mmmhhh.... not enough information about Liquid to make a TUT about him... it would be just a usual fanfic. I'm not that good at creating pure fanfics. <_<

But yeah, Wolf was too young to join army in the usual way. But we also have to remember that the U.S. army still uses torture as a intelligent method even in real life. In MGS universe the U.S. sent Solidus to Liberia where he collected up a child army, so I don't think that it's so strange for U.S. to use Wolf as a sniper in the Gulf War.

But I think that you're right... according to this TUT Wolf was only 22 at Shadow Moses.... sounds a bit young to me... ah well... this is Unofficial though. :haha:

You know Cal; I’m still waiting for that last TUT…The Unspoken Truth (Liquidation of Dead Cell) I believe it was…?

You told me you didn’t want to disappoint the fans, and yet here I am, disappointed as ever… disappointed to the extent that I withdrew my marriage proposal… wait…that’s as far as it went right?

… We didn’t get mar… hmmm… now that I think about it, I vaguely remember our Honeymoon… yes, it had quite a lot in common with the love scene in the movie Hotshots. Teehee, we brought frying bacon and eggs on someone’s stomach from fiction to reality.

BUT enough! I want a divorce… and if I don’t get that TUT, I’m on that next flight to Finland to beat the living ‘suitcase’ out of you, understand?
…I don’t know how I’ll find you but how hard can it be to find a guy 193cm tall (tall bastard!) hmmm… that also gets me wondering how I’m suppose to beat you up…? Meh, I’m a psychopath… I’ll find a way. :evillaugh:

Again, I WANT THAT TUT!
