Niice work, i like the water, did u draw that by hand?
Muikuli - November 17, 2006 01:45 PM (GMT)
Really, that's quite strange picture. I see it's well made and kinda creepy. Where did you get the idea from?
Iron Snake - November 17, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Nice but one thing: Blood does NOT flow downwards in water...
Nevertheless, nice work :thumb:

Yeah, blood tends to spread out and mistify sort of...
But the blood on the face looks spot on, and the rest of the picture is nice and smooth. Good job :)

That looks really...nice...yeah lets go with that. What ever made you think of creating a dead woman upside down in the water? But when it comes down to it, that looks really good.

thanks guys^^ lemme answer your questions:
Q: where did i get the idea for this pic?
A: This pic was inspired by the murder of Laci peterson. I'm sure many of you have heard of this story a few years ago. Laci peterson was murdered by her husband, scott peterson with a premature fetus in her womb. Laci peterson was said to be killed on christmas eve, and was cast off into the nearby lake (I believe they lived in sacramento, cali). 3 months later, a dead body was found on the shore with a baby attached to it, umbilical chord still uncut. The body was identified as laci peterson and scott peterson, after a year of trials, was put to death penalty. I remembered seeing it on A&E and the story was branded into my head eversince :P
.....plus, I had this image of a girl floating upside down in my head. It's really absurd and surreal and downright creepy. I'm also a fan of horror films and silent hill, so I'm basically used to creepy and disturbing stuff xp. But this picture isn't just an excuse for horror/macabre. It symbolizes the shift from light to dark. So the sun is out, it's a nice day, first thing that goes wrong: feet sticking out of water. As the picture shifts downwards, the colours obviously get darker and at the bottom of it, there's blood. This relates to scott peterson as well, since he was seemingly innocent, but one after the other, the evidence began to pile up and eventually point towards him.
Q: Did i draw the girl by hand?
A: yes i did :)
Q: how did i make it?
A: photoshop CS2 + tablet. I've been doing photoshop for about 3-4 months now so...i guess I just learned alot about cg paintings, lol
anyways, i'm glad u guys like it :D Good reviews encourage me to do more artwork^^

Great work Lux! :thumb:
The blood effect is really cool, and although it looks spooky, it has turned out great.
Looks like you might need to open your own art thread in the near future then? :)

thanks!^^
hmm...my own art thread? maybe i will :P. But i wouldn't be able to update it very often because each piece of art that I take seriously usually takes me 10+ hours to make xD I already have my own fanart thread, so once I start playing mgs, you'll be sure to expect some new additions there ;)
