Here are a few staggering facts about the eBay PS3 listings, based off eBay Marketplace Research taken from 9:30 this morning:

* Number of PS3s sold for an average of $2,618.47: 174 units

* Number of PS3s sold for an average of $1788.88 (10/17 to today): 3,533 units

* Current live listings for PS3 on eBay: 1579 auctions

* Number of PS3s sold via eBay yesterday: 334, for an average price of $2,184.85

* Average price of a winning PS3 bid for the past week: $1,959.73

* Average price for a PS3 one month ago (10/17): $959.60

* Current average price for a PS3 (11/11 to 11/17): $1,955.29.

I heard the PS3 was around 700 bucks here.. I'll get it around March or when the price goes down because right now I'm getting games for my PSP and PS2, no need for a PS3 right now for me.

Man amazing what people do for a damn console.

Somebody got shot because of it. Lots of people got injured when they tripped and fell in the crowd when people were running for the PS3 as soon as it hit stores. Lots of people got threatened. All for a console, they seriously need a life.

And those guys who smashed up the PS3 are probably Nintendo fanboys.

And if the title didn't get to you, then there's something messed up around here, lol.

But seriously...opening day at a local Walmart, and a riot breaks out over the PS3. People were beating each other SENSE-LESS for the PS3's. And if THAT'S not bad enough, get this, you'll love this part:

A man was walking out of the store with a PS3 which he most likely ACTUALLY paid for, and then the poor shmuck gets shot. He's still alive, but he had a bullet in him, and was robbed of a PS3. In a sense, this is pricelessly humorous, in another sense...what kind of fucking world do we live in where people are actually shot over a video game system?

Holy shit, pardon my language. That is the most ridiculous thing I've seen for a long time. They wasted 600$ to get that, made it so one less person who wanted it didn't get one, just to fuck it up. Damn, I wish I was there so I could fucking punch those guys in their faces...

Around my area there was a store that only was getting ten PS3's so the owner set out ten chairs and said whoever got to them first gets a PS3. Three people ended up in the hospital because of it, including a little kid who got his head smashed against a steel pole.. Then my Best Buy had over 200 people outside waiting.

I will just wait until it comes out next year when the good games come out, thanks. No need to risk my health and safety over a game console.

Do what I did, get a hook up, and order an Ebay reserve. I got mine for $400. Me and my little brother split the cash since he wants in on the PS3 thing as well. John and me went way back, so he gladly got me the hookup. :D

Yeah lotsa PS3 riots/crimes and honestly I'm sick of seein them. Kinda like the PS3 on Ebay, I'm almost half tempted to buy a 360 at this point which is really surprising cuz I am a true blue Sony Fan Boy Basically I think Ill just wait till all the killer apps get released and see which console has what I'd consider the best of all the killer apps.

You don't need to rush to buy PS3. Honestly, there aren't even any good launch titles for PS3 other than Resistance. And if you are not a fan of FPS, then I don't think there aren't any titles for you to pick up in launch date.

I'll tell ya dude, I'm tempted to do the same. MGS4 would be so amazing to have but is it really worth it in the long run? 360 I could get for cheaper and it has the same games that I want for PS3 minus MGS4. I got an XBOX not that long ago and it is ten times better than PS2. You can really tell a difference between Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 for PS2 and XBOX. There is much more detail. I might just forget about PS3.. I don't know yet.

it's not about the hardware as much as it is about the software
before Halo came out Xbox was doing incredibly poorly, sure it's a superior system, but the reason it didn't (and still hasn't even when combined with sales of the 360) matched PS2's sales is because PS2 has awesome software (games)
this time around, however, Sony has both awesome hardware and software

You should wait until the PS3 has been released for long time before saying stuff like that. Most of third party company ain't going to support Sony's console exclusively. I thought this has been discussed for long time?

No actually it's just a stupid gimick. They did it to the XBOX360, they get people to pay them like one dollar each then they but it and smash it and people get pissed. They did it with the new IPod and there going to do it with the Wii and Microsoft's zoom too I think. They really retarded spending all those people's money just to have it wasted for a stupid joke that's not at all funny. Jackasses! I hope an angry nintendo mob beats them to death when they smash the Wii on Sunday.

Anyway as for the PS3, yeah I'll be getting one but not any time soon. My friend already has the 360 and is planning on getting a Wii. So we'll have all three consoles! :elaugh2: But yeah I really won't absolutely need one until MGS4 comes out, but I have looked into some other cool titles.

Well, thats got to be one of the most stupidest things that I have ever heard. I mean the guy actually shot the man over a PS3....wow....he was ethier really really stupid, or he was just really broke and bored. Something like that happend down here when Katrina hit, A guy shot another guy over a bag of ICE, but I can KINDA understand why he did that. But this getting shot over a PS3 shit is just plain stupid. Anyway, that guy must be really mad, paying $600 then getting it stolen AND SHOT!! I wouldnt care about getting shot, I would be mad over waisting my damn money on a great system that I know cant play. Is there any word on if Wal-Mart is going to give him another one, you know, becuase he was like shot on there property.

ung, the only Virtua Fighter game I have is Virtua Fighter 2 for my Sega Saturn which sits in my basement, and that was by far the best fighting game I've ever played.....NEED MORE!

I finally played all the consoles.

Last night I was over at Best Buy and their limit per person was 3 minutes due to the high demand of the PS3. I gotta be honest here. I'm really impressed with these first generation graphics. I remember some of the first gen 360 games. Those were horrible. I'm warming up to the PS3.

They've done it to a 360, a PS3, and are taking donations from people to destroy TWO Wii's!! ^_^

I forgot to mention my only complaint. It's the controller I'm not too crazy about.

You're literally forced to use your middle fingers to reach the L2 and R2 buttons, or otherwise forget reaching it with your index.
