Title: TTS cutscenes
Description: Love 'em or hate 'em?

I want to know what your views are on the TTS cutscenes especially those who have seen both. I found them over-the-top and made Snake often times look like a super-clone. But in the end they did a decent job but they could have been way better if the matrix had been dropped by 75%. I voted the original were better.

They were better than the original but over the top

Original. Snake isn't Gray Fox, he's a soldier, albeit a damn good one. No fucking jumping on rockets or the shit he did in the final cutscene with Wolf. Ugh.

*sigh*
I had to vote that the original cutscenes were better. I was ashamed of the things they did with TTS.
However, there was one i greatly enjoyed. That was the scene where Gray Fox slaughtered the soldiers in the halway. That scene was absolutely brilliant.
I couldn't put there were one or two I liked, so I needed to express my opinion.
Much love,
TFH :fox:

i agree with you, that cutscene was also one of the few I liked. However, it didn't have the same impact as it did in the original when you first hear soldiers screaming, then when you entered the hallway, there were dead soldier all about... this was very eery for the first time.

I have to agree there was a lot of matrix-style fighting in the cutscenes but I didn't really mind them. I voted 'Didn't care for the cutscenes' coz bringing the original in improved gfx was a great idea overall.

I didin't like the TTS scenes much. I actually hated the ending were Liquid dies. There's a few cool things, but way too much stupid and unnecessary bullet-time 5meter high flips and stuff like that. Original were better.

Yeah didn't they stand face to face then Liquid collapsed dead?
The original ending was much better
Liquid: Snake... Snake...
-Aims FA-MAS at Snake, but suddenly he's affected by something...
Liquid: Fo... Fox!!!
Snake: ...Die!
-Liquid falls down on his knees and falls flat on his stomach. Suddenly he reaches out with his left hand and dies...
My favorite death to a villain. He desereved for being so reluctant to die.

In that circumstance, TTS is better. It is a meeting of minds, Solid has no intention of killing Liquid at that moment, it is showing the reasons why Solid is the hero, morally and physically he would show mercy to his enemy, it is showing that Liquid cannot personally kill Solid Snake a fact hammered home in Sons of Liberty (Otacon intervenes on the Tanker, Fortune internvenes on Arsenal Gear). The original puts Snake directly at his mercy and is merely Liquid Snake dying becayse of a biological weapon, not as good in my opinion.

What do you mean exactly? Why would Snake not want to kill Liquid? And what's wrong with having Snake at his mercy? The original clearly showed you that there was no way out for Snake and then he's saved by the very thing that could also kill him at same moment.

I did love the TTS cutscenes, just so great

Watch the TTS cutscene again, not once does Solid act to kill Liquid, despite the fact that he has a Assault rifle. It's showing that Snake cannot be killed by his bother, Liquid failed in MGS, he failed in MGS 2.
In the original he cannot move, Liquid stands over him and blammo FOXDIE kills Liquid. In the TTS cutscene, Snake crawls out, Liquid stands up against him, Solid does nothing, FOXDIE activates and kills Liquid.
TTS version is better in my opinion

The original ending is better in my opinion. Agree to disagree?
Helikaon - January 16, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
Sure
One thing I liked about the cutscenes in TTS is the fact that you could see Liquid's awesome tattoo, one thing I didn't like was the damn Snake versus the missiles
SnakeInIceland - January 16, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah what hell was Snake in TTS? Solid Neo? Super Snake?
There is only one backflip I like, which is where he met Ocelot. It was alright, but the jump in MGS was way better. And for some reasons, where Snake did mild jumps in MGS he was Mr. Acrobat in TTS, and where Snake was a little acrobatic(the tank fire) in the original, he was extremely weak in TTS(he never jumped away, he wjust just there and was hit by the damn and got blown away). Why the opposites?
Helikaon - January 16, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
I liked it where he first meets Fox, after the Ocelot battle, where Fox digs his sword into the ground and runs at Snake, he does this really cool little get up.
I also like it where he meets the DARPA chief, when he jumps up above the door.

But that fight made no sense, why deviate from the original so friggin' much in one scene? There was no need for it. I must admit it was cool, but the reason I don't like is explained earlier.
It made no sense for Snake to jump up there whatsoever. Why try to be semi-Sam Fisher all of a sudden.
