I thought these two potential features might be nice additions to the forum, so I want to hear what you all think. If you can, please post up what you'd like to see included in each item. For example, in the blogs, if you want a post per week that's Q & A with one of the staff or something, post it up. Also feel free to post up any other ideas.

I think Q&A might be a nice touch. Someone lucky might get to chose which one of us they want to interview each week! :P

And a Blog link could go in the Banner.

Please, if you can, explain your answer, any ideas etc etc.

hmm, neither of the ideas really jump out at me but a blog where the staff say there real feeling about certain members would be good

I think both would really help improve are forum.

Like the idea of the newsletter, I mean be pretty cool to read whats gone on that normal members eyes can't see.
In it could be weekly/monthly bannings along with reasons why.
Or if thats to personal, Just an update on what things have changed in that time.

i voted forthe mgsforums blog :rolleyes: i ould like to see some frequent mgs news. but then aain, i usually always go to TUS for that, but anyways i think a blog would be cool ^_^

A blog would be cool as it might give a more personal touch to the forums; as for the newsletter I don't think there's enough going on for there to be one ;)

I'm gonna say both.

Neither really jump out at me, but they'd probably grow on me, and besides, you might as well make both because some people are gonna want the one that everyone else has said no to, and that's not really very fair.

Realistically, probably only one will happen at a time. We'd love to do both, but there's this nasty thing called time that constrains us. It is interesting that so many people are calling for both, though. Definitely something to think about further.

As for general ideas and such, the newsletter would have potential with MGS and non-MGS material, plus links to popular threads and stuff, but surely you could incorportate something like that into a blog area/site?

Almost as many people want the blog as both, so I think we'll probably start out with just the blog. We'll probably privately ask members if they would like to write based on their posting habits.

There is quite a bit of interest in both, though, so maybe the newsletter could be a true member-run publication. "By the members, for the members" and all that jazz. If anyone is interested in leading something like this, PM me and we can talk sometime.
