This will mark the first of a few changes to come for the forum in the next few weeks, most of which concern staff positions.

First, I'd like to announce that Soriddo Suneku has been promoted to Global Moderator. He's done an outstanding job moderating the Subsistence forum, and I know he'll be equally effective in the other forums.

Second, we're moving JC87, screenshark15, Leestephens, and The rattled mind of Bob to an 'Emeritus' position due to their infrequent moderating activity. Each of these members contributed a great deal to the forum during their active days. Also, Providence, though he has stepped down, will be awarded such a position for his excellent modship in the past.

These changes in staffing open up a few gaps, one of which Soriddo has just filled. As you might have guessed, we have to fill these spots. I plan to do so in the next couple weeks by speaking with members and staff who I think will do a good job.

Finally, I'm working on getting the blog set up, so I'll be talking to potential writers about that as well. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the blog.

Congrats Soriddo Suneku! I always thought your name was cool. I also agree, I think a blog would be pretty cool and add to the publicity of the site. I say, I do look forward to becoming a mod here some day in the distant future.

Good to see that this forum is active in the maintenance of moderating. Some sites were getting screwed up because of inactive, or power- addicted mods. I'm loving this site more and more :)

Btw what´s 'Emeritus' ? I know it´s a position since i can see it at the bottom of the page, but what is it?

'Emeritus' is a position designed especially for the veteran Global Mods since the Admins find it too hard to completely dispose of these once great individuals so fundamental to these boards… So they’ve officially retired however, retain a professional title. This way, they’ll always have influence in the way things operate.
It’s basically a ‘thank you’ after all the hard work they’ve done over the years.

It’s also in this way that the Admins were able to free up the more important (power-driven) ‘Global Moderator’ positions for new candidates… One of which happened to be awarded to Soriddo Suneku.

The rest of those position are likely to be filled by other ‘Forum Moderators’ who have been deemed “fit enough” for the placement, therefore, promoted. This may also lead to the need of new ‘Forum Mods’ aswell… So there will be a few lucky individuals chosen for the job after Cobb and the other Admins have gone through the proper interviews.

I wonder how such a series of events has occurred? Feels like such a drastic change after all…
