Title: What is Twin Snakes?

Is Twin Snakes just a re-make of MGS or is it completely something different?

Yes, it's a remake, with a few minor changes, mostly in cutscenes, music and all. It also has the same controls from the MGS2 game.

I would stick to the PSX version though, nothing beats the original

TTS is a remake of MGS1 that didn't deliver what it could have. It was disappointing. The original MGS for the PSX is the best game of the series and it has great graphics for a PSX game.

i think the psx version is great and all but i prefer TTS cause it's got better graphics and more action and longer cutscenes and watching grayfox fight snake, rex and the gaurds is just freaken awesome campared to how it was in the psx version :fox:

Well, I think for one the renewed voice acting sucks, especially from the Ninja.
I really missed the sentences from the fighting sequence, like 'Hurt me more'. The voice in the PSX version sounded more intense as well.

And with the Mantis fight, I really hated those little paintings from Kojima and his comrades on the wall. Plus it got annoying that you really had to use all 4 controller portals to beat him, and that you find out about it in the beginning already.

As for the graphics.... I wished the MGS2 engine wouldn't be used, they should have better waited for the MGS3 engine, to get the graphics it deserved.

One more thing...What the hell happened to the Alert theme? That little piece in the PSX version always made my heart jump.....

Yer TTS was a bit of a flop, because they almost turned it into a different game with all the changes instead of a remake. They should have just upgraded graphics and gameplay. None of the cutscenes or voices or anything. If they couldn't get the original voice/actors why didn't they take the sound files from the original? I'm pretty sure they could have done that. But nonetheless the changed cutscenes were the worst, they didn't need to change the story. TTS didn't offer much more in gameplay than the original which is what i was hoping it would do when it came out, instead it just changed the things I wanted to stay the same. It was OK but nothing to write home about. And yes, although many things were changed it was supposed to be a remake.

Well, Snake and all were the original voice actors, still, even the change in putting things into a sentence shouldn't have occured. Indeed, they should've leaved the voice for what they were. I always play 'karaoke' during cutscene's, and the change of order, or texts are really not done

The only difference in the cast was Rob Paulsen played Gray Fox instead of Greg Eagles. Everyone else came to reprise their role, David Hayter even let his pay be reduced just so Silicon Knights could afford everyone else.

Disagree..I think Rob Paulson did a better job of Gray Fox's voice..I thought it suited the character a whole lot more..

Everything else I agree with though..It just didn't have that same amazing feeling I got playing the original..

I'm sure Mei ling and Ravens voices were different? Maybe I'm mistaken..

Metal_girl_Solid - March 9, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
I thought they were the same, but people get older, and voices do change. Also, it's almost impossible to redo the voice acting in exactly the same way.
