Title: how come....
tsuchinoko finder - March 31, 2007 10:23 AM (GMT)
how come no one gives this game the time of day? quite frankly I think it's cool. do others here agree with me on this game, who else thinks its awsome. i am such a fan of these VR games that kojima puts out in between games (mgs1, VR missions mgs2, substance, mgs3, subsistance) where it's just about the gameplay and you can forget about the story for a while. in my opinion VR misions is one of the best games kojima has turned out so i am asking for you to give your reasons why you have or havent picked this one up
actualy i'm one to talk :P my mom baught me this game before she did that i had no clue it even existed but after the sneaking missions i was hooked
Swift Fox - March 31, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
Err... Idk wth u just said, could u rephrase all of that?
tsuchinoko finder - March 31, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
sorry about that i was on my meds when i made this topic i only just realized how bad it is lol but is this better?
Zeroth - April 26, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)
i think it is a good idea that kojima made VR missions. you're right, it does take your mind off of the story and allows you to focus on getting past obstacles and tactics. it also allows you to see exactly what the VR training that is talked about throughout the game is like. also, if you are going to introduce someone to MGS its not a bad idea to let them play this first.
MG_REX - April 26, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
I agree. this game is actually one of my favorites in the series. I played it after MGS 1 hoping to sharpen my skills a bit for MGS 2, only to be a bit disappointed that the game had been completely re-done. <_< Don't get me wrong, I love the new style of gameplay, but I was just kind of blind sighted! lol. Yes, MGS:VRM is an awesome game though.
Zeroth - April 26, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
yeah well playing VR Missions and then going into MGS2 is much, much better than going into an MGS game without any idea or concept of how the gameplay is
tsuchinoko finder - April 26, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
wow it got resurected o___o cool well im glad someone shares my view on this game lol
KaneKurupt - April 26, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
I would buy this game but i never see it in any shops. I'm not going to go out of my way to order it online though. So if I ever see it at Gamestop or EBgames, I will surely buy it if I have the money.
Zeroth - April 27, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
yeah i see it all of the time at gamestop. the EB by me has no old school games.
such a great game like this deserves to be mandatorily put in every store cause it is so amazing
Mobius 4 - May 2, 2007 12:44 PM (GMT)
Actually, I have this game, but I never opened it. It's still in it's wrapper and all. Is it worth anything unopened?
Zeroth - May 2, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
*gasp* :o
of course it is, go open it right now and get busy!
Mobius 4 - May 5, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
I'm serious, I could just go buy an open one for $2.00 if my unopened one is worth any money.
Zeroth - May 8, 2007 12:35 PM (GMT)
well that is up to you. if i were you i would just open it because i could call it MINE!!!
Fierce Deity - May 8, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
I got both mine from Ebay.
I have a opened one that I play and an unopened one for collection purposes. They both cost me about 8pound together.
Not really worth anything.
Mobius 4 - May 9, 2007 12:22 PM (GMT)
I have an Opened one now so, I will keep the Unopened one for Collection Purposes.

Mobius 4 - May 12, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
It kicks ass!!! I want to play as the Ninja... I want to unlock him soon.
raiDen_X - May 18, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)
VR is the shit---i love it
i ALMOST like it more than the actual game itself
because its just you--the guards and your brains----no storyline no killing
just tactics and strategy---thats REALLY what MGS is about--
when i 1st played mgs1 i would shoot and toss grenades
not knowing any better------NOW im so nasty at the shit that i dont really bother to even harm the guards anymore---i might punch one out every now and then but for the most part---im running past them--ducking and pressing up on the walls and things---and this is all self discipline courtesy of VR
tsuchinoko finder - July 2, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
:BUMP TO THE MAX!: i finally beat this game with a one-hundred percent completion it's pretty cool when you go back and play the ninja missions gray fox has his face uncovered
Sn4ke - July 20, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Congrats! but isn't that Snake whose face is uncovered?
black king - July 20, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
Ya Fox is cool but i used a Game shark to get him :ph43r:
tsuchinoko finder - July 23, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
na it's totally Greyfox :fox:
Exigious - July 27, 2007 11:39 AM (GMT)
I have this, but I can say I'd rather wait then play this, because I think for most of us here, it's not about just the gameplay. It's about the story line.
I just didn't like the one for PS1, so the ones for ps2, etc might have been better.
U.S.Patriot - July 30, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
I remember this. It was pretty sweet to play something in between games. It gave an extra "edge" to my skills in MGS.

I'm agree with you and i like VR missions :thumb:
Sn4ke - August 6, 2007 12:51 PM (GMT)
The VR Missions are great for gameplay purposes. I hope that they'd have something similar in MGS4.
ichbinscissors61 - August 6, 2007 03:09 PM (GMT)
I'd like to get this game, but I'm not sure where from. I've seen someone playing as GreyFox and it looked great. I also heard there were some mystery missions which sound interesting. Anyone got any suggestions as to where I could get it?
Sn4ke - August 6, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
I would recommend you to go order it from eBay. Good and affordable stuff there. :thumb:
tsuchinoko finder - August 6, 2007 10:37 PM (GMT)
i got mine from amazon.com no bidding it's better :thumb:
ichbinscissors61 - August 9, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the recommendations, guys. I'll probably get my friend to order it, as my parents are protective of their credit card details. At least it shouldn't be too much money. Hopefully, I'll be playing it soon. Thanks again. :D
Ivan Raikov - August 11, 2007 12:33 AM (GMT)
Dude... A Totally Unopened MGS IS worth alot... That game is a RARITY now...
It's worth more if its on PC Though....
liquid snack - August 27, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
if youve got an unopened version of it never open it, keep it for a few years, it could put your kids through university! and the ninja missions are soo cool pity theres only 3 of them. :fox: is an awesome game though.
BigBoss555 - September 2, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)

djcarlos - September 4, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
I need some help here guys!
I recently completed MGS (again), using the PS1 disc on my PS2.
No problems, except for the end credits were a bit screwy.
Anyway, I picked up Special Missions from Ebay....and this is where it gets upsetting.
I follow the instructions exactly...insert the Special Missions disc, wait for the prompt, take it out, put in the original MGS disc 1....."Error - Wrong Disc"!
Tried it with both MGS discs, with no joy.
All discs are clean, my laser is clean, everything else still loads no probs.
So...does the Special Missions disc not work on PS2?
Any help much appreciated!
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 5, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
I've played and finished MGS 1, but have never been able to find a copy of the game anywhere. I don't really want to order it online,(just thing i have about it.) But my local shops don't have it. :(
Solid Snake The Great - September 5, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
@djcarlos: I get that too. I'm guessing it's just because the Special Missions disk isn't compatible with the PS2.
@TBDOOH: You won't be able to find it in a shop anywhere anymore. The game is 8 years old and for a console which is outdated. You'll have to order online if you really want it.

I've seen it at book stores (WTF?) twice, and both times I didn't have enough money to get it, and that store is out of town so I can't go and get it any day... sad...
