Title: VR and bonus stuff help

UrbanCombat - April 26, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
Hi, I need help with the VR mission where you have to protect meryl by using the sniper rifle. I know what i have to do but can't do it, no matter how many times I try. Is there any tips out there?

Also, I cant complete some of the snake tales and ive had this game for ages now. Its just so hard, you die quick and you cant see the enemy, you look round a corner and they see you for christ sake. I can play the game on hard but not the tales cause of not knowing where the enemy is.

cheers

hmmm, refresh my memory, i am getting VR Missions for the PSX and substance mixed up. is it with the two giant genome soliders?

and yeah the snake tales is something you will go back and play over and over again until you beat it. its one of those trial and error things. not easy at all.

On the bonus disk of Substance. The last one, where all you have is the Sniper Rifle and all those guards make there way across the map. I have trouble keeping them away from Meryl.

And trial and error sucks, I thought snake tales was supposed to be a bit of fun. At least make a difficulty setting dont you think?

I guess some of those missions are made for the expert player. Those people who want some more challenge from the game.

ive got a tip for you, shoot the mother fuckers in the head!!! or the balls which ever is closest. just go crazy and shoot... you think this one hard? try protecting the noodles or cardboard box later on, now thats hard. i got %100 on the Xbox version but couldn't do it on the PS2 i have no idea why ??

i think all the snake tales missions are kinda like Extreme Difficulty so you have to be very careful and keep your distance. guards have a wider field of vision so they spot you from further away

I try but they move so too fast. Also its hard to hide from the enemy as its so god damn narrow inside so they pretty much always see you. I could do it in Snake eater becuase of the wider map and also lots of places to hide, the most i can hide in Substance is in lockers in the Snake Tales.

Use the AP Sensor!!! It acts as your Radar in the sense of location. When there is no vibration, the coast is clear.

UrbanCombat - April 30, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
It does not show what way they are facing though...

Mobius 4 - May 1, 2007 12:08 PM (GMT)
That's why when there is no Vibration, you make a quick corner sweep of the area, and then move out. It also helps to not run through open areas, and use First Person View a lot.

oh i remember what you are talking about

and yeah the AP sensor is what got me throught it

Mobius 4 - May 2, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
It would be a lot easyer with the Third Person View Camera.

how? i find it alot easier in 1st person

Mobius 4 - May 2, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
I mean instead of the Top Down View, It would be easyer with the Camera in MGS Subsistance.

Zeroth - May 2, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
ooohhh you mean the 360 degree camera....well you cant use that can you?

Mobius 4 - May 3, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
No, it is so far, only in MGS 3 Subsistance.

rayofdoom - May 3, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
i think the 3rd person view made the game alot easier and took away alot of the features and elements that made MGS diferent and fun like looking around corners and so on but nevermind.

you can use the AP to locate enemy position:
when you equip the AP sensor use the 1st person view and look around, if it viberates that means there is an emeny close by in the direction you are looking, got it? so keep a look out, and if it stops vibrating it means he is gone.

Mobius 4 - May 4, 2007 12:06 PM (GMT)
Not just in the direction that you are looking. He could be far enough away to not affect the AP Sensor, but still notice you.
