Yep, God Of War. How awesome is this series? I picked up the second on Saturday and im now about 6 hours into it, and wow! Its bloody incredible. Better than the first even without all the little extra moves etc. But dont get me wrong, the first is incredible too.

What do you think? Is Kratos the most bad ass character we have seen?

I am so glad you made this topic. I bought the first God of War about two months ago, and it instantly became my favorite game franchise. I agree, the second game definately surpassed the first.

Kratos is insane, He will burn someone alive just to open a door.. A DOOR.

I loved God of War and I'll be sure to pick up God of War 2, which seems to be just as brilliant, if not more. I think I'll probably keep myself busy until I finish FF12 and, only after that, I'll buy GoW2.

I don't usually buy action games like this one and I specially don't buy their sequels when I already have one, but GoW was just so cool. It's so epic and brutal. The fact that it is about Greek mythology (even though it isn't 100% faithful to its whole lore, but that doesn't really bother me) is something that really appeals to me, since I've always loved it. Also, it's cool that Kratos isn't just a badass. He's actually an evil bastard, so he's quite different from the majority of game "heroes".

People are already complaining, but I, for one, think it's cool. It helps to give that pagan and brutal feeling, I suppose.

Same here, and I really love the narration to the games. Really brings the story more to life.

Im about 8 hours in on GOW 2 now, at the end I think.

I personally had always been fascinated by the Greek mythology ... I mean Alexander alone makes you so captivated by the Greek's history... though it will be great if they decide to make another one for the PS3 because one of the problems the game's creator mentiond was the weak capability of PS2 ... I mean they canceled many models and ideas because of it ... just imagine what they can do with the game with such powerful console.

I'm pretty sure its been confirmed that a GoW3 is planned for the PS3.

Hmm, well I hope they can cater for the PS2 users who wont have a PS3 just yet. Wouldnt be fair to put the 3rd on PS3 really would it?

^ nah it will take a long time to create god of war for the ps3. They pushed the ps2 to the max and if they were to do the same for the ps3, that will be alot of hard work as the ps3 games at the moment don't fully push the ps3 to its limits. Again this will take 2-3 years so ps2 owners have plenty of time to think and purchase a ps3 by the time GoW 3 comes out.

Congratulations, and yes the ending is great, very dramatic.

you know I used to play and finish games this way but ... I really think that we shouldn't finish games that fast ... you should play it like 2 hours every day so you get to enjoy it for a longer time ... I mean I don't know about you all but when I play for straight 10 or 11 hours I sort of don't feel well ... sometimes I have a headache and at some point I stop enjoying the game because I'm all obsessed about ending the game as fast as I could.

I havent played on my PS2 in months because of moving home. And the only game I was waiting for was GOW2,so it was worth the wait. And I didnt play that long. :P Only one time I played it twice in one day, morning and night, about 2 hours each.

Love the first one. Got it when it came out and beat shortly there after. God mode is a bitch. Started to play the second but stopped near the icey titan guy.

do you guys know about God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP? I already ordered my demo on their website like a week or two ago.

I can't wait for new info on God of War 3. Sony could use the SIXAXIS tilt funtion for avoiding instead of the right analog stick.

So instead of fighting with the blades of chaos, you will fight with a regular blade? Or is it just going to go back as far as when Kratos was still working for Aries. That would make more sense.

I think the 2nd one was better, if your going to talk about epic, you must say the 2nd one is better. I mean, you where a god, that now is mortal thats really strong. And you must go KILL Zues. Can't get more epic then that.

No, becuase everyone knows that, that is the point of the game. It even tells you in the comercial, when it says "Now Kratos will bring the gods back down to earth". So its not a spolier, if Kratos suceeds is a spolier wich I never said. So yeah, there ya go, egg on your face.

No doubt, or it will somehow, start in maybe a prequel style game. Where as he slowy gets toward "you know what" he starts thinking about his past, and there is where they could start. Or they could go another big direction. Who knows, all I know, is that it dosent matter what they do, I will get that game, and I will most likely not sleep until I beat it.

About half way through GOW2 now on the second run. My mate wanted to check it out, but we just ended up wanting to go through it all because its so damn good!

Kratos was much cooler and badder in GoW 1, well thats my opninion anyhow.

God of war 2 is such a great game I completed it last week.

BTW. has anyone played GOW2 on the PS3? I'm just curious cuz people have said it doesn't run properly on the PS3 but didn't noice any problems.

Yeah, some games dont run that good on PS3. Sometimes the effect and graphics are all blurry and it's slow sometimes. Not at all games, but some of them.

Just finished God of War 2. The game was alright but was no where as good as the first. The game starts to pick up great speed at the end but then ends abruptly. Almost feel like I was cheated out of an ending.
