I was just searching through these forums and I noticed something shocking... There is no FF chat topic!!

I just defeated Yiazmat in 12 and i'm lvl 93 with all characters :o About 130 hours of play hehe. Gonna fight against Omega later on. Working now on all side quests.

There was a FF Chat Topic, But it got renamed to RPG Chat, So I don't know if this will get locked or what.

I did not play FFVII when it first came out but then I heard how almighty it is and went and got it. Boring if you ask me. I liked watching FF10 but then heard the ending accidently and laughed. I don't think FF is to my taste, although Dragon Quest and KH wasn't too bad.

FF is awesome, one of my favorite RPG series.

I liked FFX the best, the 'bubble map' thing for your abilities was a neat idea.

FFX is the greatest, great story, new leveling system, TOTAL AWESOMENESS, also one of the most moving endings in video game history.

No FFVII was the best.

Play through the game, then watch advent children. No better way to realise how great that story actually is.

I agree with Buffy, X was the best in my opinion, i spent 80% of my ps2 life on that game. 160hr, i was determined to max everything out. Though 7 was a truely AWESOME story, the gameplay is clearly better on X, which edges it.

Also 8 and 9 are both amazing aswell.... hell, there ALL awesome, 7,8, and 10 have the best stories anyone has ever thought of.

ffX isn't the best. my fav list goes like this:

1. ff7
2. ff8 (so close to being top)
3. ff9
4. ff10
5. ff12
6. ffX2
7. ff7: DOC
8. ff4
9. ff6
10. ff: CC
11. ff2
12. ff1

and i havn't played 3, 5 and 11

I suppose I have odd tastes.
My favorites in order were:

1. FF8/FF7 (both are just as good in my view)

2. FF12

Omg, how can you guys pick FFX-2 as a favorite. o.o... has to be one of the worst final fantasy games ever.

Agreed, Its not one of my favorites, It did wreck the whole FF10 story, And to be honest, its better if the FF games don't have any sequals.

but didn't you just say you want to see a film on ff8? isn't that sorta a sequal? i think X2 is one of the worst FF's but still one of the best games of all time, well worth a 9/10

Advent Children was really good when everyone thought it would wreck the games story.
I think a FFVIII film would also be successful too.

i agree, i think VIII is an absolute brilliant game, but a lot of people, even most FF fans thinks its crap, i cant see why

I play seven and eight and each time I can't desided which is the best.
I even think Nine was amazing, Which most FF fans think it sucks too.

I only think final fantasy 1, 2, 5, 10-2 wasn't very good.

nine was amazing, but have 2 friends who think ff9 is the best one, dont think so, but dont get me wrong, its brilliant. I know what you mean when you say you play through both and still cant decide which is better out of ff8 and ff7. I play through 7 and think 7 is the best one, but then i play through 8 and think 8 is the best one and it goes on like an endless circle

I really like Final Fantasy IX. It was so different than the previous FF games. I have played and finished all FF games, still working on XII tough. Oh wait, I havent played XI but thats not in my taste some online FF game, crap.

HA ff12 the best? no way. storyline is meagre compared to other, infact its quite utterly bad and another thing, no turn based battles, booooooo. i completed it ages ago, if your worried about the last boss being hard and your battling up, dont, he is piss

I seriously found the gameplay of XII better and the location and stuff as for the story. Story was good, why not? Look at other Final Fantasy's with they're story. XII had a good and simple story, I also liked the locations the best.

As for the turn based thingy, first when I heard the news I was pissed yeah, but when I actually played the game I tought ''Omg'' as in this is better than expected. The combat system is much better than those random encountering turn based battles. XII is still turn based in a way and it is definetely one of the hardest Final Fantasy's. Not the overall story but the sidequests and other monsters you have to face, I mean Yiazmat. It took me damn long to beat that mutherfucker :o I still have to work on Omega now.

Tell me please why you tought that the story was boring... And also think of the other story's in other Final Fantasy games before you do continue... If you say that XII is easy then you probably just did the story which shows what kind of FF you are -_- And if you say that if a game is easy that it's not good, look at VII and IX and X those were easy, well X was'nt really that easy but..

Been playing on FFVII today as a matter of fact, Going through it again.

Just got Vincents final limit and his best weapon from the secret cave in the moutains.

FF10 is the best (or at least my favorite). im sorry........i have a thing for yuna

12 was way too easy, gambits did all the work, all u had to do was...walk. Was still quite good gameplay tho, i did enjoy it, but the story was ahuge letdown. All the characters were bland and had no history or personality. -_-

FFVI Had a great storyline aswell, and a great game. AND LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT TATICS! Wasted my life on it.

FF12 was easyier than most INCLUDING all of the secrets. FF10 was easy as well, the story was boring becuase the characters wern't as in depth, they didn't have much in terms of relationships with each other (not sexual but any at all - and there wasn't a single heroine that falls in love with the hero, typical of a FF bu better that way) Vaan was soooooooo anoying and not cool at all, you didn't get a feel about Vayne being truely evil, compare him as a character to sephiroth or Kuja, the music was absolutly biobolical, i have to admit it love FF music, its my fav music of all time, i have it on my MP3 player but i just had to turn the sound off on FF12, it made my ears bleed, you didn't feel any emotion at all through the game, moment that get you are ones like when aries dies in FF7 and in FF8 when squall get rinoa from the sorccerous seal thing and they hug - briliant, none of this in FF12, and once again, turn-based FTW!!!!

Well that is your opninion, I might have taken it a little harsh saying it is the best, but it is one of my favorites.

I dont know how you guys played FF XII I only had Gambits set for healing and supportive spells ;)

well.....as you might have guessed i was hopeing for it to be turned based but it looks like thats out the window, it want a brilliant story which is very emotion, great music and what do you all think of a difficulty level? so we could do it easy first time round and then when we want a challenge we can do hard.

no it wasn't, theres star ocean 1 on NES, star ocean 2 on PS1 and star ocean 3 on PS2 and thats it. i think you might be getting confused with phantasy star (but im not sure of these there are though)
