Title: The place to talk about rare food
Description: Where rare food is how to get them

volgin331 - June 6, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
Someone ask me a where certain food is and how to catch it! :thumb:

ichbinscissors61 - June 6, 2007 06:39 PM (GMT)
Sorry Volgin, I think I know where everything is. I guess I could ask you where the Japanese flying squirrel is though. I know of two places. Feel free to correct me if there's more. If you really know a lot, you could tell me how it tastes as well. :thumb:

I know where to find the Tsuchinoko.

1. In the lake area where you fight The End. Lay your mousetraps in the water.

2. In the area where you fight The Fear. Lay mousetraps around the odd looking tree in the middle of the area.

volgin331 - June 6, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
Well my friend the flying squirrelmost commenly can be found at they area were you fight the fear and can really be found anywhere you just gotta look hard but it is not worth it because snake says it taste horrible. :thumb: :P

ichbinscissors61 - June 8, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
Well said Volgin. Guess I don't know as much as I thought. I only thought they were in the Fear's area and Dremuchij west. Okay then, how about the Markhor goat? They aren't too common. I can think of four places where one is. I'm fairly certain there aren't any more this time. I also know how they taste and how many rations they provide when killed, so you could include that info as well.
If I'm wrong again, I'm going to look like an idiot. :P

Holy crap really? I thought it was just at the Fear's place...

The Squirrel you can find in the dark place at the very start of Operation Snake Eater, or straight away after "fighting" the Sorrow.

I'm pretty sure you can unlock something if you get every single animal/plant??

ichbinscissors61 - June 8, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
The tsuchinoko can be found in the north area of the End's boss fight as well. It's usually where I get mine. And Bolshaya past south. And quite a few other places I believe. I think you can only get one of them per save though. Thanks for the extra info about the squirrel. I'll keep a look out for it next time. I have never captured every plant and animal on one save(always seem to miss one of the snakes), but I believe you get a rank of markhor and for some reason, the Ez gun. So you can get this on extreme too, instead of just very easy. Not sure if this is really worth it though.

The Markhor goat? I've got like a hundred of those, there common as, look around where you fight the end. You can find them basically everywhere, and its worth a look because they heal heaps.

Thanks Mjr.snake. This should put an end to my uninformed babbling.
Although I'm sure he was wrong about a couple of things. He said the rat was bad, but it's actually pretty good. Good guide though, will be helpful should I go for capture of all plants/animals.

no problem ;)

There should be other guides too, maybe those are more precise :thumb:

Well to anwser that Q bout the goat I now two places 1 where you fight ocelot which you can get to the other is when you wake up from you long journy with the sorrow and how many people you killed. :thumb: P.S. they drop two food icons but i dont really now how the taste because i forgot its been such a long time since I killed one but do you now where to find the flesh eating vultures and how they taste and how many food icons they drop.

ichbinscissors61 - June 11, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)
I completely forgot about the goat with Ocelot. He gets angry if you kill it. There is also one in Sokrovenno north and west , where you fight the End. There is another which I doubt a lot of people have found, in the area in which you start the virtuous mission if you go back in op. snake eater.
I'd look at the guides for the locations of every one, but my computer probaby won't load the page.
The vulture can be found in all of the mountain areas except the bit where you overlook Groznyj Grad. They can't be captured alive and drop two items. They taste very good, possibly better after feeding on an enemy soldier. I'm sure one of them was saying something like this when I interrogated him. Maybe not though, as usual, he didn't finish his sentence. Hope that answers your question, Volgin. The goat tastes good, by the way. :thumb:

If anyone has ever eaten a tsuchinoko then I'd love to know how it taste because a have already gotten the infinity face paint and I'm want to know if it taste good or bad because if its bad I'll just throw it at a gaurd or eat it just to see what major zero and the para-medic have to say but if it good I'll save it for when I'm really hungry or somefin.:thumb:

ichbinscissors61 - June 12, 2007 08:33 AM (GMT)
No problem, my friend. The tsuchinoko tastes great, right up there with the calorie mate and instant noodles. Of course, it gives you full stamina recovery. I don't think Para-medic and Major Zero have anything to say after eating it, but It's been a while since I called them about it so perhaps they do. Maybe if you caught a second. I haven't tried to capture another after eating one. Have a feeling it's one per save though. If you look at Eva's food history when you meet up with her later, you'll see she has eaten tsuchinoko and shark-fin soup. Don't know how much help that is though.

Yes, I have seen the med history. She has had a lot of injuries. I believe she has even had an std, which I read about in another topic somewhere. Enough Eva for now though.
I thought about it and I guess I'll ask you where the giant anaconda is. I can only think of one place, actually, they don't seem to spawn for me very much. I'm sure there's plenty of other places.
I think I remember the taste as well. I haven't eaten one in a bit though, so I may be wrong.
I need to know more about these snakes. :thumb:

volgin331 - June 13, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
The gaint anaconda can be found where you find the SVD and this may sound weird but I find a anaconda around every sniping point of THE END's. And yes they are "fairly tasted".

whitetigerx7 - June 13, 2007 07:04 AM (GMT)
I found one where the backpack is, another in the caves where the shotgun is, and then another in the woods before you get to The End.

ichbinscissors61 - June 15, 2007 11:29 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the extra info about the giant anaconda, guys. The only place I could think of was one location in the west area of the End's battle. Every sniping point of the End's? That's a lot of snakes. Guess I must be going blind. Now that you mention the others, I'm beginning to remember them where you said. Yes, indeed they are fairly tasty, Volgin. Ok then, another one for you, again to do with a snake, the green tree python. This one isn't the most common(I think that would be the reticulated python), but it's not too rare either. I can think of five of them for the moment. There's probably more though. Let me know where you've found them, how they taste and so on.

whitetigerx7 - June 15, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
Here's a good one for trivia purposes:

What the the first place possible you can get a "Noodles".

ichbinscissors61 - June 15, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
The earliest place I got the noodles was off one of the Ocelot unit. He dropped it when shaken. This is the earliest time in the game I have seen the noodles appear. I've held up and shaken other enemies before this and they don't seem to drop the good stuff. I've only ever got a ration off an average soldier. Perhaps Volgin or someone else has found some hidden noodles before this though, guess we'll find out soon.
