Title: Would you play it again?
Description: Poll regarding MGO
whitetigerx7 - June 28, 2007 04:41 AM (GMT)
This is a long shot, but I feel maybe I'd ask it. Since MGO has been down for a while and everything is gone, we've all taken a much needed break and vacation, truly would you play it again even if Konami didn't fix anything from the last time and left the game as-is, or even relaunched it as a stand-alone game with numerous fixes and supported the HDD unit for downloadable content and updates? Please explain your answer also.
I myself would have to say "Maybe". Don't get me wrong I didn't like some of the flaws MGO had, but honestly I miss the people, the interactivity, and really I miss having the level of fun MGO brought when games were good and clean. I'd say I'd play it again but ONLY if they relaunched it as a stand-alone game supporting the HDD with downloadable content and updates.

Jesus christ...you'd think by now you wouldn't get any of these "Duh...well I can still play, I'm in Europe!" posts. I mean for fucks sake it's been what about five months or so (giver or take), it should be well past the common knowledge stage.
With that out of the way, yes I'd love to play right now. I wouldn't need any upgrades (more maps would be nice). I really miss kicking ass with either Zy or Gray, and having people continuously fail at attempts at beating us in TDM. Ah the joys of being undefeated.

Hell Yes! Seriously I think I would kill a man to get it clear across to Kojima to bring back MGO. I hope that I don't speak for myself in that I actually really miss Playing SNE in anymap that wasn't Graniny Gorki Lab. Or Playing RES at G.Fact. Even CAP at H.ICE was intense. Also I do wish they'd update the box. so its more of a disguise and so I don't have to play Box Wars with some Junkie. Also I think they should redo the leaning and weaving too...that **** pissed me off. Sometimes it was ok but seriously, I love MGO but leaning and weaving wasn't skill it was no fun. The instant I saw someone lean or weave I took out that Kalishkinov (sp?) and busted them up with Auto aim just chokin it tappin sq. Oh man that was sooo much fun though.
I have to say though some new maps would be pretty nice. C.U.S aint the greatest. and the Kill Houses are just plain Dumb. H.ICE, G.FACT, S.EAST those are the fun maps. MTN is ok but it usually stacks on Blue Team and was a bunch of whiney kids who kicked you all the time.
I still think my all time favorite though is CAP at S.EAST and SNE on L.FOR or G.FACT. some people say that G.FACT is rigged on SNE but I don't really think so I mean if you have a chaff rusher yeah but chaff rushers are dumb and don't get it. If that's what you do all time. I think its about time you quit SNE. SNE is more like waitin awhile pickin them off for a bit once you've got yourself the AK (the extra ammo is a plus as snake, ontop of I aa better with it) The RPG (That's just hiliarious in SNE if your snake and have it) your pretty golden for a long time.
The only problem I had with SNE is, everyone would try to steal the Snake Frag. I remember playing a Knife SNE with my friend (KKC) Ocelot, I stun Snake I go to stab and take the kill. Some punk took it right from me. >.< Its just like all that hard work, then some moocher takes it right from ya, you know?
Anyway I'd love to play MGO again, especially with new maps and some fixes. But even just MGO as it was would be fine with me. As I'm sure the community might be somewhat smaller as all the addicts have uh.. I'm sure quit the game the hard way...its been what 93 days since the US closing of it. So I'm sure by now half the punks that would ruin the experience aren't quite up to it anymore. Then again it doubtful.

i voted yes because when my ps2 broke I got a 360 for awhile but after that I got a ps3 and when I got subsistence MGO was already off =( o well but I will definitely play when MGO comes for mgs4 GOTP
Snake Liquid - July 15, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
I would most definately play MGO again. Despite the glitches (which were easy to avoid if you hosted a game personally) this game was the best online game I have ever played. I enjoy Battlefield 2, CoD Big Red One, and Socom CA online but none of them even compare to MGO. Sometimes I just want to fire up the PS2 and play it so bad, especially after I just watched the video on the Persistence disk, ha. But yeah, MPO doesn't compare at all with MGO. I really miss it.
stylux7 - July 29, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
Why dont they fix it? I really never had that many glitches. I havent played it in forever cuz my playstation 2 broke then I got a new one and its not there. Wtf? Have they already said its not coming back?
Muikuli - July 29, 2007 07:57 AM (GMT)
It still works in Europe... But I don't play it anymore. Just few days ago I played it for a little while though, but all the gliches and the pro players who were too fast with headshotting for me to keep up made it kinda... annoying experience. At first, MGO was fun, but there are many better online games.
Helikaon - July 29, 2007 02:16 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't play it even if I wanted to (and I could), I'd rather wait for the new MGO than play an old flawed one.
Sn4ke - July 29, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
I would definitely play it again even for a while if given the chance. I miss the old experience.
=Solid Snake= - July 31, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Me personally hell yes!! Mgo i loved it so much i mean seriously glitches and all. 7ds will live on forever. But yeah i play on european servers now. =) I hacked into there servers lol!!! Nj for life
The Departed - July 31, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
Absolutely. I mean, it was an online game I could never get bored of. Anyone played me before? AliG85?
Well either way, it was incredibly fun, and entertaining despite all the lag and glitching.
NickRocks - August 1, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
NO. and heres why.
as fun as it was, with all the memories i have, i dont want to go back and have all those fond memories ruined by the annoying reality of the game. im content with just playing single player.
utra snake - August 2, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
i would but i gave my 10 meter ethernet cable away lol and wihtout it my ps2 cant reach the router.
Ace of guns - August 12, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
It was quite fun at first where everyone tried to play to have fun, but then it got kinda boring since every turn into headshot only games...
But yes I would love to play it again, it was fun when playing CTF (capture the frog).
Adolescent Killer - August 12, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
I'l tell you what they should do, Launch international servers!! Then I bet there would never be a lack of players.
KALASHsixtynine - August 13, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
International servers would be great, and i dont see why they wouldn't, Sony can do it with the ps3 now. Resistance online has international servers
Lore - August 21, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
I never got to play it, looks like it would of been very fun! Closest I got to it was Splinter Cell 2 online (that's a lot funner then it sounds).

I still play it now, I could never get bored of it, It's just the pros and there constant fooking leaning or w/e and there amazing accuracy that fooks me off..
As soon as i come across one, I just give up and admit defeat. :ph43r:
Glitchers really fook me off as well, completely ruins the game, specially annoying when your not host and your trying to tell the host that their glitching..but you don't have enough time 'cause..well they fooking glitch and kill you.
Bummer that the servers go down in a couple of months, Can't really afford a PS3 yet so i'll have to wait...
gearfrk525 - August 21, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
I would definitely play again. As much as i got beat everytime, i loved the game because it gives a sense of cummunity. In fact, i tried playing today but didn't realize the servers had apparently been down for some time. Guess that's what i get for not playing for 6 months lol.
Markthecool - August 21, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
I would play it right now am very bored plus I missed doing headshots what fun but even if they turn on the servers right now I wouldn't be able to play it since I sold it and other games on gamestop for store credit so I get closer to get a PS3.
KALASHsixtynine - August 22, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
i miss the unique way it felt when you shot someone in mgo...
MGO_monkey - August 22, 2007 02:43 AM (GMT)
There is nothing id rather do if it came back. as you guys have said, i miss the way you feel after you shoot someone. its not like tony hawks underground or many other online games, you feel like you've DONE something. escpecially headshots, that *KACHING* always made me cocky at every match. even if i lost them lol
Cobalt - November 4, 2007 05:44 AM (GMT)
Like everyone said above me, it was satisfying to get a kill. Especially a headshot. I've seen the beta vids. I've seen the trailer. Obviously it looks good and I'm looking forward to playing it. But does anyone else feel the same way about it never being the same as the old MGO?
LiquidRhyme - November 19, 2007 06:30 PM (GMT)
i would play it again.exactly the same game.it was really funny,i played with my mates,so no one was glitchin xD
Boss_Snake - November 19, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
I would play it in a heartbeat, I loved MGO alot better than MPO.
