Title: Did I encounter a Ghost?
dJdC - July 5, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
Now I consider myself a sane person. Now what I am about to tell you is the Gods honest truth that just happened to me at ~1:44 AM that is going to keep me up for the rest of the night. I was laying in bed just looking straight across the room when all of a sudden I heard the wind pick up. I swear to fucking god I felt a strong breeze. I got freezing Cold. Then it went black. I became petrified. I felt a feeling that I cant explain. A presence. It was on top of me. I was totally able to think and know what was going on. I didn’t feel that this thing wanted to hurt me or nothing. It seemed gentle But made me feel uncomfortable and I asked it to leave. It did. That’s when I realized why I couldn’t see because it was right in my face as it left I could see a shadow just vanish into thin air. As soon as I was able to move I jumped out of bed turned on the light and prayed. I checked the thermostat and tried to make sense of the situation. But I couldn’t. The more I think about it the more it freaks me out. All I know is that it happened and I wasn't a dream. I've had nightmares but they never made me feel uneasy to go back to sleep. I wish it were a dream and for some reason I cant stop sneezing since it happened.

well it's not i don't believe you but i haven't had anything happen to me to relate to this so i'm not to fermiler with it but that does sound quite scary,i try not to think about things like that,it's easyer to sleep, but i don't sleep very much though :o
dJdC - July 5, 2007 07:11 AM (GMT)
I just can't fucking make sense of it. My mind was totally in control as it was happening. I knew what it was and thats what scares me more. I dont knowwhy it happened to me. I'm trying to remember what Iwas thinking about before It happened.
sadistic_greyfox - July 5, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
I've had a few experiences myself man, but no real solid proof to make me say "it was something supernatural" like once my sister came running out of her room asking me if I opened and closed her door, thinking i was messing around with her like usual, but everyone else was outside watching The Fog on tv. Since you know i'm the older brother I got up to go check it out and the craziest thing happened the door was open and it quickly closed on me by itself really fast, i stood there for 2 secs and then it slowly opened again. But you know I like to think there was an explanation, her window was slightly opened with those lock things making it only about i guess 3 inches.
Still though that was weird that when I walked towards it something like that happened at that exact moment. What I heard works is standing your ground (depending on what kind of entity it is) and claiming it to be your home, although I would pretty much be scared shitless to do that in the face of something supernatural. Sometimes to man when your on the very verge of falling asleep you see things like once, honest to god, i thought i saw the friggin formation of the universe. XD yuh mind might be playing tricks on yuh so dont take it to serious unless it happens again.

See these things make you believe that there are supernatural powers acting on you, but it may not always be the case. Sometimes the mind creates these things, but I'm not too sure on that door opening and closing thing sad fox  It probably was the window.
sadistic_greyfox - July 5, 2007 07:48 AM (GMT)
I like to believe that too myself...i'd hate to have the idea that something beside the wind opened and closed it when i approached :( . You ever realize you never have a video camera when you really need it?
UrbanCombat - July 5, 2007 07:54 AM (GMT)
Our camera is busted, but luckily I have not encounted such a thing. I do get paranoid in the woods at night however, and feel like I'm being watched (sounds dodgey I know) but i'm not sure if thats the same thing.
If it happens again burn the door and shout at the ghost to go away...Maybe that would work...
sadistic_greyfox - July 5, 2007 07:57 AM (GMT)
i'll be sure to call you for advise if it happens again
*sadistic_greyfox now labels you his Offical Priest.
but maybe the feel of being watched you know is just by those animals around hunting in the dark.

or you could always ask the ghost out to dinner, but i ain't paying, maybe it's the ghots of your ex lover and you forgot to take him/her out to dinner cause you were busy at your freinds house drinking and partying and all that shit :P when your date got pissed at waiting for you they bent over to pick up a penny when suddenly someguy walks behind them and see's there back, then there eyes git twichey and then there cronic backstabbing disorder comes into play, deadly it is :haha:
UrbanCombat - July 5, 2007 08:03 AM (GMT)
Sure, but my centuries of knowledge passed down my ancestors comes at a price...
 But yeah it probably was just some animals, but if you're with someone you always try and scare the shit out of them by telling what could happen :)

Well I once had an OBE(out-of-body experience) when i couldn't sleep late at night. My eyes were closed, and thoughts drifted in my head. All of a sudden, this image of Samara(from the Ring) came into my head....she was crawling up a well, and that's when i heard a loud static noise....the sound filled my ears! I was freaked out, for sure...but my gut instincts told me not to open my eyes. I felt as if my mind was spinning around, and my body felt as if it were levitating. The more it levitated, the louder the static grew. That was when I began to close my thoughts or think of something else....maybe i tried doing both, and thankfully, the static stopped, and my body "drifted" back down. I asked my parents if they heard anything right after I was sure there was no more static, and they said they didn't hear a thing.
But anyways, relating to your experience, it sounds REALLY creepy. I once had a dream of a ghost coming into our house....and coincidentally, i was paralyzed as well. I couldn't move at all in my dream. Weird huh.....
....I did a study on ghosts as my topic for a speech in English class, and after doing some research, I believe they exist. But the reason behind their existence is beyond what humans can prove/understand. That's my opinion, at least.
sadistic_greyfox - July 7, 2007 05:22 AM (GMT)
Ghosts is a very hard thing to prove, I mean atleast one person over the course of all these years should have tapped something or have some sort of conclusive proof that they do exist. sure there is EVP but those things seem to jsut catch muffle noise that ppl bend into thinking it's real words. I don't necessarily believe there are ghosts but I do like to think there is something beyond this life that we don't know of....yet.
snake_ultsol - July 8, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
I do believe in the super-natural but I don't believe in ghosts. 'Ghosts' as in people who are dead trying to contact people or dead who walk the world aimlessly or stuff like that.
@dJdC: I don't say that you are lying but there could be a logical explanation to your encounter, but I don't negate the possibility of it being super-natural.
@Luximus: You sure you weren't dreaming? ;)
Although I haven't had any experiences with the super-natural, I have had some real bad dreams. I remember one incident, I was dreaming that me and my uncle were walking somewhere and there was a house in front of us and something or someone was screaming/howling/shrieking from inside the house, it was really scary .. I woke up but the sound was still in my head, I lay in my bed .. almost paralyzed. I felt dizzy for sometime then I fell asleep.

Holy cow bro. I read that whole thing and that was me to every exact detail. Alls I have to say is thank you. Makes me feel a whole lot better.
"Hypnagogic experiences occur as one is falling asleep, while hypnopompic experiences occur as one is waking up--both experiences occur within the penumbra between sleep and waking (or vice versa). Experienced qualities vary, and include fear, awareness of a "presence", chest or back pressure, and an inability to breathe (hence the folkloric notion of mara-like creatures tormenting sleepers), a falling sensation or a feeling of tripping, but sometimes also joy."
I feel great. I'm not crazy
