I'm so fucking pissed off with how condescending people act with me. In class, some bitch is so fucking rude and tries to act like she knows every fucking thing, no matter how wrong she is. Telling us about how the death penalty is unconstitutional in economics, when it is. She tells me how it's also immoral to take life. Well, when you are up against someone who slaughtered like 10 people, it's moral enough, even then, what else is there? Life in prison?! Ha! The constitution forbids the law to take away the right of any other constitutional rights. Well in jail, do you have free speech? Right to really do what you wish? No, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

What pisses me off is how people take what you believe in and throw it in your face. Now, I'm not one for popping people in the face, but such shit attitudes can push too far if you ask me.

It's not just in SJS, but it's in the work place, discussions, or even with friends, fuck me man, learn some fucking manners.

Personally, I don't think we're in a position to give a death sentence to anyone. We're humans, not gods..what right do we have to take someone else's life away? And at the same time, because we're human, we have morals and individual judgement. It's perfectly human to want to get revenge on a person who killed/raped/or did anything inhumane to someone who's precious to you. It's understandable. However, this makes the issue of death penalties extremely controversial. I don't believe we have a right to "judge" or "decide" who gets to live. True justice doesn't exist. How can you measure the value of a life? Therefore, in this aspect, I sympathize with the girl because she's saying that you can't measure the value of a life, and therefore it is technically "unjust" to give someone a death penalty. Who are we to decide the value of a life? We're only human. It's not like there's a scale that weighs what is just and what isn't. However, I also sympathize with you in the aspect of humanity. Even I, while typing this response while trying to be logical and rational, will most likely want a death sentence to be enforced on whoever did an injustice to my friends or family members. I'm only human, and to me, morally, it is "right" because they took the live/ruined the life of someone precious to me, and that someone has a priceless value in my heart.

And about the whole "it's immoral to take a life". That is just BS. Morals are one's own personal values and beliefs. She can't say that everyone thinks it's immoral to take a life because that's not true at all. I can see where your frustration comes from because she's acting like she's speaking for the entire planet. So, in these situtations....just ignore her. Besides....most(if not all) of us who replied to this topic arees with you :).

I know also that it is frustrating when someone acts like they have all the answers. Telling you that what they believe in is the only right way and if you don't agree with them your stupid. A lot of people are like that. Exacuting is one thing, I would never say that someone should be exacuted, but in a kill or be killed situation like war it is different. But I think that the one who pushes the button or injects the poison isn't responsible as much as the judge or jury. I mean, it is his own actions, and if you don't believe in the death penalty, you gotta understand that most people see different. Consequences must be made, and slaughtering people might ease that fact. Although I would understand it being difficult. I've heard that firing squads only really have one shooter, the rest are just shooting blanks, so psychologically, no one knows who shot who, thus they don't blame themselves. I'll look into it and find out if it's true. ;)

About the girl first of all . I know people that react like that . Who are like that. And its terrible to know people who allways thinks they are right. And no one else ever gets a chance to say anything else. It can be about anything , something childish even but still it goes on my nerves. I can understand you.

About the death penalty thing.

Yea some of you are right. We should not be allowed to "judge" or "decide" who have the right to live or not. But if you have done something you know is wrong. If you have killed several people. And if you find pleasure in killing human beeings. Then "for the safety of mankind" they should be executed. And yea. If your entire family gets killed. A single man with a rifle runs around in your house finnishing of everyone. You're the only to get away. Ofcourse I can understand that they want revenge. That they want to see that person killed. Ofcourse. I bet I would want to see that man/woman bleed to death. instead of having people in prison for 40 years. Why not just kill them instead? people who have served 25 years in prison and still have lifetime+2 on them . I bet they rather want to die and get out of the misery ASAP. Instead of sitting in prison and rotten.

The girl you were talking about is partly right. Yeah, so maybe a criminal goes and slaughters several people, and doesn't regret it and would probably kill even more people if he/she was released. But giving someone like that a death penalty...first of all, it doesn't make you any better than the criminal if you want him/her dead. Second, killing such an individual will be beneficial to society and economically, but the criminal's death is the criminal's victory. He/she escapes a lifetime behind bars, for time is indeed the best punishment. But there are far too many criminals who should be on a lifetime sentence, and the government can't afford to lock them all up.

But I see your point, people like that really believe that they are something out of the ordinary. But I believe that it will ultimately be their downfall. ^_^
