I'm very happy to announce that Tamashi has just been made moderator of all of the MGS sections. In the same vein as Red Queen's promotion, I have no doubt that he will do a bang-up job and continue to contribute to the forum.

I don't want to demean Tamashi in any way, shape or form, I think he's a brilliant member and very knowledgable on the subject of MGS, with a good ability to argue his point, but isn't this a little overexcessive?

The forums have gone from understaffed to overstaffed, with people being promoted to higher ranks regardless of whether their moderator work has broken any particular boundaries, which is a pretty hard thing to accomplish.

There's currently six admins. SIX. There's three or four super moderators, and about ten moderators, three of which are currently all moderators of every MGS forum.

I'm happy for Tamashi, but I'm failing to see why this is necessary.

jcc you really have no idea at all on how much help tam has been to the staff, a few of the ideas you see on mgsf actually came form tam. he's done more than enough to prove he will be a valued memeber of the staff.

Why, thank you, JCC for that insight… But unfortunately, not all meets the eye in regards to the situation of the Staff.

Anyway, I want to thank all the staff out there who thought I could handle the position. You’re all great. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Most of all, though… I want to thank the people that have been by my side even while I was a simple lonely member. You people know who you are… Sad, CBJ, Fede, Caldera, Cobb… If it weren’t for you people I probably wouldn’t have gotten this far. Thank you so much for everything. I couldn’t ask for better friends.

Also, every one of you members out there is great. Truly amazing and you make this place so much better with just your sheer presence. That’s probably why this is the only forum that I come on… others just seems to pail in comparison.

Anyway, enough of that. I’ll be doing my best as a Moderator to keep this place in top form. That’s right, you’re all gonna be whooped into shape! So look out.

At any rate, I also have some bad news:
As of 0800 hours tomorrow, anyone who hasn’t posted their best wishes in this thread will receive a warning. Anyone who questions that warning will be subject to a temp-ban in which you will spend your two weeks tied to a chair in on front of a bed so you can witness the legendary JC and Refluxe have their way with your mothers whilst they scream out in wholehearted pleasure.

Remember though, you still have time to save yourselves from that nasty fate… However, you really should think about your mothers, I’m sure it’s been a long time since they’ve been ‘down and dirty,’ after all… and if it’s with JC and Refluxe, you can expect them to be happy forever and everlastingly in your debt. So just consider that.

So yeah, posting here and congratulating me will mean you avoid a warning and possibly having to gouge out your eyes as a result of seeing your mothers in such an awkward situation. …This all excludes JCC whose mother is being given it right now.

Our very own Refluxe is also striving for this same goal… however, still manages to post from time to time and control things from behind the scenes. Nevertheless, if you don’t see any similarities between you and your father, JC just might have met your mother.

Well done. I'll always be in your debt for providing that link to a Finnish forum where I found some excellent duel mode scores. Even someone who plays as much as I do may not understand fully about the patriots, I don't think I totally got it, so I'm glad you're there for any help on this. Anyway, congrats on the promotion, I think you'll do fine. It's good to have someone moderating who knows the game like you. :thumb:

Really, the moderation team isn’t as big as you people make it out to be… as I said, there is so much that doesn’t meet the eye.

I mean, in regards to having six Administrators, that isn’t necessarily true, there are only actually five. You can’t really count the “Pricey” account as it hasn’t even been used – and is probably only there because there is something wrong with moving. Also, you have to remember that Otacon was only appointed as Administrator because Cobb wasn’t sure of how his future activities would keep him from coming to the forum – thus, he saw it in the best interest of the board to have another active Administrator for if and when he wasn’t around. In addition, Refluxe may not contribute much on these boards anymore, however, he still pulls a lot of strings behind the curtain – which even I myself was surprised to see how much he contributes behind the scenes.

As far as Global Moderators go, we only have three – that is quite a decent amount. If you remember a couple of months ago, there were six Globals – four of which weren’t really doing anything. So that was changed.

As for Forum Moderators like myself, it’s untrue what JCC said about already having three… truth is, we only had two – Sad and Caldera. Now, I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but Cal hasn’t really been around too often and that incidentally burdened Sad with all the work of the MGS Chat Section. Additionally, with this recent ‘BOOM’ that was E3, the Staff figured that there should be someone else to help the flow of information around the forum – thus, I was chosen.

There is one exception, though… and that is Ravock Denian who has been in-active for the last three months and counting. Because of that, I have asked the other staff what they thought concerning his placement as a Mod of a completely unnecessary section. We will likely be dropped.

All in all, if look at the facts, you’ll see that within the last six months we’ve gone from a staff consisting of 18 to a staff consisting of 14 (when Ravock Denian is removed). I dunno about you, but that seems better than before considering even when we did have the 18, the boards were still quite under moderated.

Nevertheless, if anyone still has a problem with the way the staff has been managed – either post a topic in the Help Desk or contact an Admin. (Personally, Cobb has always been there to answer my questions and has gone out of his way many times in the past to bring me information)

Promotions are nice.

But... I've been a moderator and it's work I care not to try my hand at again unless absolutely necessary. I manage one site already and that's one too many for me anyway. Seriously I haven't updated my news section for a while now. Besides I just haven't had time for much really except posting during my off hours from work.

Anyway... Tam um... talking like that about people's mom's even in jest and sarcasm is a touchy subject and one thing I've always regarded when posting or talking is "Know your audience" as what one might find humor in, another may find as distasteful.

Example: You may be able to go to a KKK meeting (not that I condone what they do) and tell Black jokes all night long but you do that at an NAACP meeting (not that condone what they do too) and you might wind up getting your head knocked off and butt handed to you.

Anyway... words of wisdom... be open-minded, be fair and balanced, but don't take any crap... and you'll be a good moderator just don't let it go to your head and become a dictator. I did that once out of inexperience and got striped of my duties very quickly.
