Title: Here's a question
Description: Anyone know...

a_shizno - July 23, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
... if Kojima hates TTS like, well, almost everyone on these forums? A stupid question I know, but one I'd like to know none the less, espically if someone kind find a link to an interview or something along those lines.

whitetigerx7 - July 23, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Kojima produced the game in name only. He wasn't directly involved but he did like how the game turned out so, he doesn't hate TTS in any way.

UrbanCombat - July 24, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Hey, I don't hate the game! I'm one of the very few who does think the game is really cool.

God Told Me to Skin You Alive - July 28, 2007 10:23 AM (GMT)
Neither, one of my favourite Cube games, I've played it to death.

I can understand why Kojima wouldn't like it though, remaking old stuff merely for the sake of profit wouldn't really go with his "artistic philosopher" image.

Same here, I played it for days on end...

I remember reading something in the GC official mag that Kojima was really pleased by how it tuned out.

It's the best Gamecube game and i liked it but i perfer the originial to it. ^_^

whitetigerx7 - July 28, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
I was one of the highest rated GameCube games.

ichbinscissors61 - July 29, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
It was fun, but first person shooting really ruined the Ocelot battle. All I had to do was aim at a certain place and wait for his head to appear right in my laser sight. I found the control system a bit awkward as well. So, I think I will say I prefer the original too. I really enjoy TTS though, I just need to play it again soon. Never heard Kojima's comments one way or the other about it, but I thought it turned out ok.

a_shizno - July 30, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
It good to hear not as many people hate the game as I thought. I've been replaying it and although I think it's the weakest MGS (wonky controls, I mean Start AND A button tobring up the Codec when Start does nothing on it's own) it's still a really good game.

Was it Ninetendo Power? If it was, what issue was it?

hastie54 - July 30, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
hey ive read through here and seen people liked and hated this game. im thinking of getting a gamecube tomorrow.

this is just cause i dont have any other console bar a psp at the moment and im waiting till i have saved money and mgs4 comes out to get a ps3

my sister has a ps2 but it stays in her room the wee arse she is.

i hope this is as good as the people who like it say it is lol.

whats the difference between this and the original?

I love Twin Snakes. My favorite in the whole series. I didn't have a ps2 at the time and I was exceptionally glad it came to GC.

The cutscenes and gameplay were ruined for me. Kojima told Kitamura to do the cutscenes in his own style, but the over-use of bullet-time and showing Snake out of character (a zero-gravity acrobat, who can backflip off a missile) is not okay in my book. I mean I was so excited when I read, MGS1 remake with new graphics and gameplay features, but in the end I was disappointed with the things that went wrong, and the things they got right were too few. But it's a matter of opinion and preference.

If you want pure Kojima and a mind-blowing experience, go for the original PS1 game. If want crazy Matrix-esque cutscenes with eased up gameplay, go for TTS.

I fucking love this game
I actually think its better than the PS one

I love the CG and the fact its on a different console

I think its great
You get more out of the story when you can make out the expressions on the peoples faces

Hey, hey he back-flipped ON to the missle, not off it. :P

I thought some of the cut scenes were handled better than the original, like meeting Psycho Mantis or the death of Sniper Wolf. But I agree that there was waaaay too much bullet time moments in a lot of the other cut scenes. Apart from that and a few other minor problems, I thought it was a good remake.

Helikaon - August 6, 2007 08:37 PM (GMT)
No it wasn't Nintendo Power, it was the official Nintendo magazine, publised by the same compny that do the PS and 360 Official Mags (Imagine Publishing?) I'd type up the interview if I could be arsed to search through the attic for the mag

raiDen_X - August 7, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
i never played TTS but i heard that you can ''shoot'' in FP-view
that would make the game a lil too ez in my opinion.

{i'd prefer the original ps1 version if anything}

You can shoot in FPS view in all MGS games excluding MGS1.. Why would they not include it in MGS TTS if it was created after that feature was included in MGS2..?

hastie54 - August 7, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
exactly they made MGS TTS using the engines from MGS2 so most newer things were included

Helikaon - August 8, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
But it does make the games easier... I used shake when I tried to sneak through the NBC 1st floor (after the Canyon), I'm talking physical shaking, one or two times I was on the verge of tears, but in TTS you can just blast the guards with an M9

wertwhile - August 9, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
I love the game much funner than the ps one game although i think that the commercials are maybe a bit overdone

g-fox - August 10, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
why would you hate TTS,it was teh shizznet,i had more fun playing TTS than the PS version :ph43r:

Mikey - August 10, 2007 06:09 AM (GMT)
was on of the few games (well, only had 2 proper games for it lol, mgs and zelda :D) i bought for gamecube and i liked it, even if it felt a bit confusing with the controler,, was the only draw back for me.

Adolescent Killer - August 15, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
I liked the game too, dispite the controls and how easy it was with FPV.

But like some people have said, the Cut scenes were way over the top! They made snake out to be some kind of super Ninja, which isn't what snake is at all.

Helikaon - August 15, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
I dunno, I don't really get what peoples problem is, the only time it was like tha for me was when he jumps on the missile and then uses his own missile...

The Snake vs Ninja battle after the Ocelot fight is one of my favourite cutscenes in the series.
