Title: Oh boy, Am I pissed...
Description: Fuck I hate Subsistence right now...

Vic Rattlehead - August 2, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Ok,this story begins from the day I bought this piece of shit. I paid whole price, and I had to lend a little of the cash from a relative(cos I didnt have enough myself). I went to the store and bought it.

The main reason I spend all my money for Subsistence, is that I had heard it has both old MSX Metal Gears in it.

So when I got home and opened the case to get the discs out, I found out that the "disc keeper" was fuckin tight, and evrytime I have tried to get discs out, they are close to get broken. I knew that with my luck something really shitty would happen after a while since they made the games case so fucking stupid.

After few weeks(maybe even days), I thought that I gonna continue playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, I took the disc out from tight cases, and put it to my PS2. Console tooked while reading the disc, and after that while it said someting like "Input PS2 or DVD format disc". I tried putting the game in again few times, and it didnt work.

The fuckin disc had been cracked cos of that dumb cd-case, and now the whole reason I bought the game cant be used, meaning that it is pointles to even keep the whole fuckin game, since I allready had MGS3: Snake Eater!

So now I have few questions, wich I would appreciate to get answers for.

1. Is there a possibility to buy new Disc 2 for MGS Subsistence somewhere, without need to buy all 3 discs?
2. If not, how soon do you think that I could get the whole game for 20 euros or a pit higher price?
3. Does someone of you had some same kinda cocksuckin bad luck? Im just interested.
4. Do you have some good tips for me, so I can play that game again with my PS2, and with absolute minimum prices?

Shit dude that sucks. My best advice i can give you is try to buy it off of eBay. A lot of people sell for low prices. I hope you find a new game that is a good one.

Take it back to the shop you got it from, as long as you have a receipt and can prove it's because of the box they should replace it. It happens to me all the time with DVD cases

Exigious - August 2, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Well take it back >.>?

Or buy the game again switch discs and take the one thats broken back, and get your money.

Or what you can do is if theres a game rental place with the same game rent it and switch it.

Both shady, but both have worked for me.

You do realise that's technically stealing?

Mjr.Snake - August 2, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Dude the same thing happend to me but I pre-ordered it so my disc surved from release to last week ... BUT I got lucky cuz the crack was on the aera where there is no data. I'm keeping the disc as safe as I can

I don't know what was wrong with them when they designed that box. My persistence disc is cracked, but still plays. However, my first Subsistence disc has a huge crack in it and I had to buy another copy. Didn't have a receipt either. I keep them in seperate cd cases now, I suggest everyone else should do the same. It's just stupid how tight they are, my friend also keeps his in another game's case. I was pretty angry about it but just accepted I was going to have to spend £30 more on it. Thankfully, I am one of the most hardcore fans you'll find, so this was worth it to me. I think the exsistence holder is a little looser, but it's still tough. However you get your next copy, make sure it comes out of that box and stays out.

When I get a new DVD I usually take the DVD out and start breaking in the holder getting it loosened up and sometimes will take my knife and shave it down slightly.

Well yes, but you bought for a game and because of the disc holder it broke. You should be able to take it back with the receipt and get a new one no problem.

Helikaon - August 3, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
On the rental thing

NickRocks - August 3, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
wow that really does suck. i had the same problem with the third disc with the MGS3 "movie", the disc holder fucked it up so i cant watch the movie. when i went on to ebay, that disc was being sold for WAY too much fucking money. so i said fuck it and just enjoyed the first two discs.

^ hes got a point

anyways yeah thats happened to me for several games although the game discs dont crack i use caution when pulling out the discs. you should have done so when you had the chance.

SnakeInIceland - August 5, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
The same thing happened to me. I returned it with the receipt and got a new one. If you're in a PAL territory like me, take out the existence disc and put it in an empty case, then put the persistence disc where the existence disc was and the disc will be fine.

If you're in a NTSC territory, just put the persistence disc in an empty case.

You can always use ebay or craigslist.

Noxide_N2O - August 7, 2007 11:02 AM (GMT)
Sam friggan thing happened to me.... same disc and everything... I fell ur pain bro....

Damn. now i cant get online

Cardboard Box Junkie - August 8, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
Rental places usually mark the actual CDs themselves as well, so most places you wouldn't get away with swapping CDs.

I recommend Tsuchi's first option, buy it again, swap discs and return it.

were you referring to my post? because if so, have you seen how much the third disc is going for on ebay? its ridiculous.

Its amazing what you could do with Ebay. I mean, just live it up a little and you could sell a just a cd for a pretty penny.
