Title: Is it worth buying?
Description: Subsistence

S.A.S. - August 5, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
i own mgs3 snake eater and was thinking about buying this
but it cost $100 still
does the first person view make it easier to play

$100? That seems like way too much. That's probably about £50 and I've never known a PS2 game to be that expensive. Still, I'd buy it personally anyway, but I doubt you play as much as me.
I think it has some extra content, such as Duel mode, more Snake vs Monkey and the demo theatre. Not 100% sure, as Europe got all that included in Snake Eater. The new camera is good, you can control it well and it will probably be easier to see up ahead. There's also 3 new camo's and some new facepaint. It can be easier to play with the new camera, but it's a little weird at first.
If you don't play much, then it's probably not a good idea, but it's a great addition to the series, so if you're a big fan, go for it. Hope I've helped. :thumb:

I bought it for 20.....I've seen it being sold in ebgames and gamespot for 7 bucks.

S.A.S. - August 6, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
i saw it for $100NZD at my local EB games store
i cant find it any where else

i try to play mgs3 at least 2 hours every day

the_cobbinator - August 6, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Try looking on eBay if it is, in fact, $100 at EBGames. Duel mode and MG 1/2 are the highlights for me now that the American servers are closed, and I'd say that they make it worth the $35 I spent when it first came out.

:ocelot: don't know anything about the price cause' i live in estonia...
but i tell you, "THIS IS WORTH BUYING AND PLAYING ALOT"

SolidSnake52 - August 6, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)
If you're a hardcore MGS fan then yes you should get it.

thefourthwall - August 6, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Wow! 100 bucks? Where the hell do you live that its that expensive?

S.A.S. - August 7, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
i live in invercargill, new zealand

guess i will just have to save up and buy it later :(

NickRocks - August 9, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Dude...just fucking amazon.com it.

anyways, do you like snake eater? do you wish you could play it with a 3d camera?

if you answered yes, get it. it's worth it simply for the 3d camera alone.

Gatso - September 15, 2007 09:59 AM (GMT)

wertwhile - September 15, 2007 11:28 AM (GMT)
No its not theres really no difference beetween mgs3 and subsistence but if you really want it you should wait till the price lowers a bit more

The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 17, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
I bought it for far cheaper. But yeah, the first person camera does change it up a bit. Anyway, I'd buy it. :thumb:

JRATCHETCITY - November 10, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
 where the hell do u live dont buy cuz there is no more online unless u got $ to blow

MGS4_Raiden - November 18, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
Isn't it £30, like normal PS2 games?

FoxHound8688 - December 3, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
I got mine from Asda for £25 pound and believe me it is worth it. I love the 1st and 3rd person mode. Great to play with. If you love MGS then u will love This version

Mortiska - January 1, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
The problem for me isn't the price, it's the availability bullshit. I've searched everywhere for Subsistence and it is absolutely nowhere to be seen. Could everywhere really have sold out by now? What's the deal?

metalgear141 - April 26, 2008 11:21 AM (GMT)
What does it actually contain?
cus it is a thick box :D lol
im gonna get it but im saving for a ps3 for mgs4 at the moment :P

whited3vil - April 26, 2008 11:46 AM (GMT)
If you won't play the first games (Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake) then I wouldn't buy it.
I bought it for that reason, the other extra's are not so great. Off course the new 3D-camera, but when used I find it no challenge to play the game. You can easily turn the camera in every direction, too look for enemies while moving at the same time, and it's way too easy this way.

If you're a must-have-everything-related-to-MGS-type-fan or a newbie at MGS, then buy it. Otherwise, don't throw your PS3 money away :P

Wilson - April 26, 2008 12:20 PM (GMT)
If you are a Metal Gear fanatic, then I highly recomend it. Much better camera, loads of extra content, camo, facepaint etc.
If you are just an occasonal gamer, then no. You probably won't are much for the camera, ar the extra content.
