Title: Almost killed myself today

Chaos - August 7, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
No, this is not a suicide topic.

Today I was swimming in my pool. When it happen I was underwater, and you know how sometimes you use the wall of the pool to push yourself under water to go really fast. Well I did that, but I didn’t had my mask on so because of the chlorine I couldn’t see much. But I was sure I was pushing myself in the right direction when I happen to push myself…and well a second later I hit pure concrete. I was going so hard that I F*** up my forehead, and…I almost broke my neck. I felt it, and for a second there I thought I either broke my two from teeth [you know when you hit yourself in the head the jaw pushes down really fast] and or my neck. Really scary, my neck felt like hell, so I got of the pool and lied there for a few minutes. Then went inside the house.

My neck still hurts a lot.

In the way it happen I could’ve killed myself, and wouldn’t be posting this right now. Things like this can happen anywhere, so be careful.

Thought I post this up.

Have any of you ever been in a situation like this? This is like my second time, and I hope is the last.

When I was about 10 or 11 or so, I used to be a nutcase crossing roads, I'd just bolt across anywhere. One time I ran across in front of a truck and it apparently (as far as these teens walking to another school told me) missed me by a few inches.

A second late crossing and SPLAT!

I serve in the australian defence force and once i was shot though the shoulder on patrol while i was on the ground i reached for my side arm in the process of getting my pistol i shot my self in the ass. I passed out shortly after the fight and woke up in a medic tent my mates still give me shit about it and i can see the funny side i guess

You in ADF? What Corps are you in?

Couple of times I've come close to certain disaster..

I went up to my friends house when I was 10 years (so a while ago) and the previous days had been extraordinarily cold, but that particular day was actually warm, above freezing. So I walked up to his house and rang the doorbell to see if he was home. No one came for a couple seconds and I looked back down his walkway and I saw I had dropped my hat (I had gloves on so I didn't notice it slip out of my hands). I took a step back from the door to pick it up and 6 big icicles fell off the gutter above me and landed right where I was standing just moments ago. Thank God I dropped my hat!

Second is when I was helping my dad take down the fence that was in my backyard. We laid the fenceposts down behind us and continued to take them down. I was just taking a step backk to take a look at the work we had done and I tripped over one fencepost and the back of my head hit another fencepost with some power. I got up and I was dizzy, but I hit my head just inches from a nail jutting out of the wood. A couple of inches to the left and I would've probably died..

Those are just my stories, though.

wow, you got luck :D

This one time when I was driving my bike through the night, I was in this huge parking lot with no cars cuz it was too late. I speeded up while driving through the parking lot, but there were these little huts where they keep the shopping carts and I drew past them and cuz the huts were in the way I couldnt see see that bus which was driving horizontally from my left ... guess what happened, I crashed. Impact was : bike's front - bus's front-side (where the front wheel is) ... me - bus's rear-side (where the rear wheel is) Speed was about 50 - 60 Km/h. but I was so lucky that I flew off my bike and hit the bus with my head and landed on my feet and stumbled, but didn't fall down - so no broken bones, no broken neck only my poor bike's front was smashed :( and my helmet was a little bit damaged.

I was playing on-on/tag, when I tagged someone on and he almost tripped while I made contact, then he said "watch it man, you could of killed me".
:lmao:
I was laughing my head off. How could I have killed him? Even if he did fall, he wouldn't of died.
:haha:
idiot.
:)

I was snowboarding once and I was speeding down a hill and my board caught on a rock and I did a complete forward flip, only to land on my head and roll on my back from there. :haha:

Luckily, I was on pure powder. If it was icy at all, I swear I would've fucked up something. :haha:

I fell right on my back many times. Suprised I never broke it. :D

ADJ - August 7, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
My Dad did the exact same thing last year, Chaos. Spent a couple of days with an icepack, but he's alright.

Well, a few years ago in winter I was walking this road, which has quite deep ditches, with some of my friends and not so my friends. One of the more idiotic one's decided it would be good idea to suddenly push me into the ditch (There was lots of snow there). So, next I knew, I was sliding on my back on the snow to the bottom. Well, just after a few seconds I hit the bottom and nothing happened cause the snow was really soft.. But then I noticed that just about 50cm from my head, there was quite a huge rock.

also, A year ago or so, I was driving a bike to the home (with no hands as usual) in a hurry and was simply too careless and lost balance. I dived to the right side of the road. Again, nothing happened, but right infront of my face there was a big rock. Can't remember exactly how close, but it was too close.

One day during the winter, when I was maybe 8-10 I woke up late and I normally got a shower, etc to wake myself up. The bus came shortly after I got my pants on and I had to run downstairs and outside still putting my sweater or jacket over top.
My brother was getting on the bus, and well the night before it was a wet snow, so when it froze again at night there was couple centimeters of Ice. So there I go whipping down the hill and i trip and fall on my rear end. I start to slide so I put my hands town to try to stop myself. I finally stopped and when I got on the bus I was told my hands were pretty messed up... So I had to go back to my house and my parents had to rush me to the ER. Nothing major, but meh.

When I was about ten, I tried to impress my friend by doing a front flip on grass, though I didn't jump high enough and landed square on my neck. If I'd landed with any more force I could've broken it.

It was very sore, so I know how you feel, Chaos :)

ichbinscissors61 - August 7, 2007 10:52 PM (GMT)
I also attempted to do a front flip, on my bed when I was 12. I was thinking of Snake's roll in MGS2, where he leaps straight into it, trying to copy him. Yes, even then, I was massive fan. :P
Anyway, I landed on my head and it really hurt. I tried to speak, and all that came out was a weird wheeze/groan. I crawled along for a bit as I couldn't seem to stand, and my back hurt badly for about two weeks. I was really scared as it happened, I thought I'd done some big damage. This is an interesting topic to read through, got some interesting ones in here.

I also fell off my bike at speed in front of a moving car once, but I skidded off to the left side with my bike, which is always good. Not a nice moment either.

Lol. Thats an easy roll to do. But then again, I take Brazillian JuJitsu.

Once I tried surfing and totally ate shit.

The wave crashed on me and the moment I came up for air, another one smashed into me before I could even let the old air out.

Then as I reached the surface again and the same thing happened. Another wave crashed down on me before I could exhale.

All on one breath.

I started panicking and because of the lack of oxygen I was also super disorientated and literally could not figure out which way is up.

It was pure luck that I managed to swim upwards instead of downwards.

Not only that, if I had fallen unconscious I would’ve had been history too.
