Please can some one tell me what the differences are in Snake Eater and Subsistence (if any)
Snake Liquid - August 18, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
Subsistence has many things that Snake Eater doesn't. For example:
-MGO (If you're in Europe you can still play it. In NA and Japan it has been closed though)
-Boss battles- Easily fight all the boss' from the game.
-MG and MG2 Solid Snake the original games before the first Metal Gear Solid
-Demo theatre where you can watch all the cutscenes from the game.
-On the second disk there are some more videos that are pretty funny and can give you a good laugh.
-3rd person controllable camera. Probably the best feature, it brings a controllable camera behind Snake that you can move around instead of the over the top view, although that option is still open.
-More Snake vs. Monkey levels
I probably missed some stuff. Subsistence has a lot more than Snake Eater on it. The main thing though is the new camera view and MGO, although you can't play it unless you have the Europe version.

you wanna know what differences there are?
well, MGO is pretty much useless to americans now, Snake vs monkey is stupid and you will never spend any time playing it, Duel Mode is pointless, you're better off just playing the game and beating the characters in singleplayer so you can watch the awesome cutscenes with it, and demo theater isnt very exciting after you watch through the entire game the first time around.
so why buy it?
well, it's got mg and mg2! those are classics, and unless you have an NES and money to waste on ebay buying those games, this is (hopefully) the only way youll get to play it.
the 3d camera. It may not seem like much, but it makes the game harder. how much so? try this on for size...
when i played snake eater, i beat it with FOXHOUND rank.
the best i've managed on subsistence is HOUND. the 3d camera immerses you in the lush jungles that kp rendered.
if only subsistence had mg1 and 2 on disc one, you could just toss the second disc away. too bad it isnt.

One nice difference is the fact that those posters of sexy girls all around MGS3 has been changed to different sexy girls. Same thing was with Substance. :D

Let's not ignore the technical corrections, like the fixing of the skipping during radio calls and that weird screen glitch that would occur during the Virtuous Mission, showing Snake surrounded by the Ocelot Unit. Of course I don't know why they couldn't have corrected that stuff before releasing the game originally, but perhaps they were under pressure.

calm down son. How the hell can u praise the extra mg2 and mg1 and diss the others. how could u play those old games, it's so outdated and the damm annoying music kills you after 30 mins.

One frog got moved in Subsistence...
The Dolinovodno Bridge during Operation Snake Eater was moved from the Left Bridge Column on the north side to the Cliff to the right of the Posts and tree in the same area.
Snake Vs. Monkey stupid? Yeah right! I actually had fun trying get all those little guys in the 1st place time limits. MG1 was waaaay better than the original NES goof-up release and MG2 was awesome in challenge.
