Title: Metal Gear Solid: Reborn
Solid Snake The Great - September 6, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
I've recently been reading some of BigK's script writing work. I read the first half an hour or so of Dementium Effect, some of GZ2 and all of his new Second Skin. It has inspired me to write, and since I've never tried screenplays before, I decided to give it a go with my own Metal Gear Solid fan fic. This is my sequel to Big Shell, set in 2010. All comments and critique are welcome. Enjoy!
Metal Gear Solid : Reborn
By Jake Tracey
FADE IN:
EXT. SAHARA DESERT - NIGHT
The desert is calm. There is no movement, and the only light comes from the full moon in the night sky. The camera switches to binocular lens, and zooms in to a base. There are two enemy sentries patrolling outside the main entrance to the base. They're wearing tactical armour, and are armed with AK-47s. SOLID SNAKE, white, short length black hair, slight beard, wearing a bandana across his forehead and a new sneaking suit with highly durable rubber padding and kevlar, puts the binoculars into a pouch located on the left side of his utility belt.
INT. FOXHOUND BASE - SAHARA DESERT - NIGHT
COLONEL ROY CAMPBELL wears his usual officers uniform, grey hair and a slightly thinner face, walks over to a control center with various computer monitors, passing multiple chairs and desks and presses a button called "CODEC."
CAMPBELL
Snake, this is Colonel Campbell. Do you copy?
EXT. SAHARA DESERT - CONTINUOUS
Snake puts a hand to his earlobe and crouches down into the sand.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Loud and clear Colonel.
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Good. Have you got a visual on the base?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Affirmative. Two sentries wearing tactical
armour and armed with AK-47s are on guard.
CAMPBELL (V.O)
They're most likely with the Black Vipers.
Two days ago, they took over the weapons
research facility Fort Prior. They took out
all one hundred and twenty soldiers who
were guarding the place within minutes.
Then, they brought in their own small army,
consisting of fifty soldiers. We don't know
why they took over this base, but we do
know that Washington wants something
done about it, and fast. I'm in the dark
here as much as you are. The Secretary
of Defence specifially asked for you Snake,
and said that he'd make Philanthropy
official if you were to co-operate with us.
FOXHOUND intel suggests that there's a
top secret government project underway
here at Fort Prior. Whatever it is, we think
that's what the terrorists are after.
Snake takes a backpack off his back, and takes out a rifle, silencer and a tripod. He takes the rifle and attaches the silencer. He then unfolds the tripod, and fixes the rifle on top of the tripod.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
So, who are the Black Vipers?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
They're mercenaries. Four of them in total.
And that's not all. Rumor is that they've
been linked with Ocelot.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Ocelot? What part does he play in this?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Nobody knows. We don't have much on
the Black Vipers apart from codenames.
No history. We would check DNA on
Interpol, but we don't have any. The leader
is Viper. Then we have Chameleon, then
Asclepius and finally we have Shriek.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Any demands?
CAMPBELL
None.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Interesting.
CAMPBELL (V.O)
You have two mission objectives. One,
get inside Fort Prior, find out what's
going on inside and then report back to
me. Two, find out what the terrorists are
planning and report back. We'll decide
what to do after that.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Got it. What about support?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
This is a top secret black op. Off the
record. If you get captured, there'll be
nobody to save you. The Government
will be forced to deny any involvement.
However, we have sorted you out with
a CODEC team.
Snake takes aim with the rifle at the two sentries. He squeezes the trigger and a shot is fired, which is muffled by the silencer, and he then recovers from the recoil. He fires a second shot. The two sentries fall to the ground, dropping their weapons and remain motionless. Snake begins to de-assemble the rifle by unscrewing the silencer and removes the tripod from the rifle.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Is Otacon here?
OTACON (V.O)
Hey Snake.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
What are you doing here? Aren't you
supposed to be organizing Philanthropie's
operations?
OTACON (V.O)
We're still only a team of ten people.
The guys can handle themselves for
a couple of days. I'm here to advise you
on your gear, or any gear you might
come across in the field. I'll also record
your data too. I'll be on frequency 141.96,
so call me if you need to.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Will do.
Snake takes his SOCOM out of the backpack and attaches the silencer and laser sight. He then folds the tripod and places it and the rifle in the backpack and zips it up. He slings it over his backpack and begins to move towards the entrance and the two bodies. He moves with his back bent over, knees bent and SOCOM in hand.
WOMAN (V.O)
Is this thing on?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Who is that?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Snake, this is Julia Landy,
FOXHOUND's Medical Chief.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
I don't remember that voice at the
medical I had. In fact, it was a man
at the medical.
LANDY (V.O)
I was in a meeting unfortunately. You
met my colleague Tom Grifiths.
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Snake, Julia will be on hand to advise
you on what to do if you sustain an
injury in battle. The nanomachines in
your sneaking suit will report back to
one of our monitors on your condition.
It'll tell us if you're injured, and how badly,
so Julia can tell you what you need
to do.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Right. Anyone else I need to meet?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Your weapons expert, Danny Stiles.
STILES (V.O)
It's good to be assisting you on this
mission Snake. Contact me if you
need any info on weapons. I know
everything there is to know about
weapons.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Got it.
CAMPBELL (V.O)
And Snake, try not to be seen. And
use non lethal force where ever
possible. I wanted to give you a
tranquilizer gun, but we've changed
policy since we reformed.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
You never did tell me about that. Why
the reformation?
CAMPBELL (V.O)
Since the events of Shadow Moses
when FOXHOUND was disbanded,
the amount of successful terrorist
operations went sky high. The
government wanted something done,
and this seemed to be a healthy
solution. Now, FOXHOUND is completely
under my control. I pick the agents, I
pick the staff.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Right. I'm about to enter the base. Snake out.
Snake reaches the two dead sentries and hauls some sand over them to cover their bodies, making sure to take one of their AK-47s. He takes the AK-47 and puts it in his backpack. He then studies the entrance to the base. There is one camera to the left hand side of the top left hand corner of the blast door, and it is facing down onto the door. Snake takes his SOCOM, and fires one bullet into the camera's screen. There is a slight whirring sound as the camera dies.
INT. FACILITY CONTROL CENTER
SOLDIER ONE
Sir! Camera One is out!
MAN
What?
SOLDIER ONE
It's dead. Shall I send some sentries to check things out?
MAN
Yes. It's him. At last. Tell them to capture him alive, should they find him. He's no use to us dead.
SOLDIER ONE
Yes sir!
micster - September 6, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Very nais man. Its gonna be interesting
*sniggers

Solid work dude, I like the little Shadow Moses elements you've used. Keep it up!

Nice work kiddo. Now we got something rolling, one other problem though.
In screenplay format, you NEVER use ???? as a character referrence. You should call it ANONYMOUS MAN or MAN. But the story sure is starting to develop here.
Solid Snake The Great - September 6, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
@Mic: I'm confused. Which do you like more, the fanfic or my saucy surname? :P
@Dani: It's fantastic that you've compared it to Shadow Moses. IMO, MGS1 had the best "MGS Theme" out of them all, and I wanted to recreate that in my own way. You might think that the storyline is very similar to Shadow Moses at the moment, but I guarantee that it won't be. If you refer to Shadow Moses, it means I'm doing what I wanted to do fantastically.
@BigK: Sorted my man. :D
The Departed - September 6, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
Pretty cool, I like what I see. :)
xeros666 - September 10, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
Wow man this intro is pretty cool, it looks to be shaping into a pretty sweet story
Solid Snake The Great - September 10, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Cheers guys! Here's chapter two;
INT. FACILITY - DELTA TEAM QUARTERS - NIGHT
Inside the room there are four MEN playing cards at a table in the middle of the room. The camera is showing a bird's eye view of the game. The MEN appear to be playing poker. To the sides of the room are four beds, two on the left side and two on the right side. Beside each bed is a small cabinet of drawers, and on the beds are their weapons and armour.
MAN ONE
Put your money in homes! I'm gonna
slaughter ya this time.
MAN TWO
What, like the twenty million times
before that when you lost?
The camera now is centered on the three other men from Man One's POV. Man Two, Man Three and Man Four all snigger. Man Three slaps five with Man Two, while Man Four begings to pour the other men drinks out of a large bottle of brandy. Man One looks down at his cards deep in thought.
MAN TWO
No, really. I'm gonna do it this time!
The other three men laugh, and a beeping is heard. Man One gets up and walks over to his bed. He then picks up his mobile and answers it.
MAN ONE
Yeah?
SOLDIER ONE (V.O)
Camera One is dead. I want you and
the rest of Delta to check it out. The
boss reckons it's an intruder. However,
he's very interested in questioning him.
Capture him alive, and you'll be rewarded
with a special prize. Kill him or fail, and
you will wish the intruder killed you,
instead of leaving you at the hands
of the boss. Got it?
MAN ONE
Yes sir!
Man One flips the mobile phone shut, and then turns towards his bed. He picks up his body armour and begins to put it on.
MAN THREE
Yo! What's going on?
MAN ONE
Command wants us to check out
Camera One. Apparantly, it's busted.
MAN FOUR
Why all of us? Checking a damn
camera don't take four of us.
MAN ONE
Command reckons it's an intruder.
They want him alive, and we'll be
rewarded. But, if we fail, then we're
dead whether the intruder kills us
or command does. So lets go!
The four men scramble to their respective beds. They then pick up their armour and start to put it on their combat gear.
EXT. FACILITY MAIN ENTRANCE
Snake takes the backpack off his back and takes out a small device called a Snakecam, which he then sticks under the very tight gap between the concrete and the door. The camera then takes on the view of the Snakecam, which shows Snake an image of a long corridor which leads to a corridor on the left, and a corridor on the right. The camera is now focused on Snake, who is still looking at the screen of the Snakecam. There is a slight sound of running feet.
SNAKE
What the hell?
MAN ONE
(FAINTLY)
You two! Go to the door and check it
for any surprises. I don't want to
take any chances.
The running footsteps get louder, but turn into walking footsteps. Snake quickly removes the Snakecam from under the door, and shoves it in his backpack. He then takes out a Claymore mine, and lays it carefull on the concrete to the left hand side of the door. Snake then zips up the backpack and throws it towards a large mound of sand. He runs towards the backpack and dives into the sand. He positions himself behind the mound of sand, but facing the door to the facility. He takes his SOCOM and holds it tightly in his right hand. The door slides open, and the two men burst out of the corridor, one facing the left hand side, and one facing the right. The soldier on the left hand side has his right foot blocking the Claymore mine, and so doesn't see it.
MAN THREE
(FAINTLY)
All clear!
Snake sees the other two men run towards the doorway. They run outside, and join their two buddies. Snake takes aim with his SOCOM, and fires on bullet. The gun, with the suppressor, makes no sound as it fires. The bullet hits Man Four in his right foot, the one blocking the Claymore.
MAN FOUR
SHIT!!! OH FUCK! I'M HIT! DAMNIT!
The three other men rush to support him and start to lay him down. Snake takes aim once more and fires another bullet. There is a loud explosion as the bullet hits the Claymore Mine, which in turn explodes. The men are all dead, with one of the bodies stuck in the doorway. The door tries to shut, but can't because of the body. Snake picks up his backpack and runs towards the door. He reaches down to the body blocking the door, and checks his pockets.
SNAKE
Where are you?
Snake takes out a white card, which has the letter L on it, followed by a number 2. Snake looks down to the body.
SNAKE (CONTINUED)
Thanks.
Snake steps over the body and into the corridor. He turns around, picks up the body and carefully moves it outside. He then gathers the other three bodies and puts them side by side in a row. He then begins to cover the bodies with sand.
INT. FACILITY CONTROL CENTER
SOLDIER ONE
Sir! You should come over here.
MAN
Have they captured Snake?
SOLDIER ONE
No sir. They're all dead.
The Man's face now comes into view from the darkness. The Man wears a dark green helmet. The helmet covers his entire face, and is covered in small blades slant downwards at a forty degree angle. His eyes are covered by silver shields, which are slightly transparent. His mouth is covered by the helmet, but there are three uncovered lines, where speech can come out.
MAN
DAMN!
There is a short silence of approximately 3 seconds.
SOLDIER ONE
S-should I send another unit, sir?
MAN
No. I want him to come in. Leave
him be. Tell the guards to be
alert. Snake is extremely dangerous.
He could prove to be a problem. I
want maximum security throughout
the whole facility. That means
SEMTEX, electrified floors, the
full works. Have I made myself clear?
SOLDIER ONE
Y-yes sir.
MAN
Good. Now get on with it!
INT. CORRIDOR ONE
Snake holds his SOCOM in his right hand, with his left hand wrapped around it for support. He moves swiftly, but quietly, towards the end of the corridor. He pushes up against the left wall, and takes a look at the right corridor. The camera changes to Snake's P.O.V, and the corridor is clear. He then switches walls to the right hand side, and does the same. This time, he sees a guard patrolling. The guard is walking along the corridor, and stops to look at his watch.
SOLDIER
Jesus. I've only been here one hour,
yet it feels like seven! Boy, those
guys have been gone a long time.
Bet they're just jacking off to a
private staff of porn.
Snake holds his SOCOM up high, in level with the soldier's head, and approaches his from behind. He reaches the guard, and puts the barrell of the gun to the soldier's head. The soldier gasps.
SNAKE
Freeze. Drop your weapon, and put
your hands on your head. Do what I
say, and you'll live. Understand?
SOLDIER
(LAUGHS)
They know who you are, Snake.
SNAKE
What the hell? How do you know
who I am?
SOLDIER
You ain't getting anything outta me.
I'd lose my job.
SNAKE
Tell me, or you'll lose your life. Got
it?
SOLDIER
Come on Snake! I'm not gonna break.
Snake appears to get angrier, and he takes a survival knife out of a side pocket on his backpack. He puts it to the soldiers neck, gently.
SNAKE
Now, tell me!
SOLDIER
Y-you wouldnt.
SNAKE
Don't bank on it.
The soldier's face goes pale and he sighs in defeat.
SOLDIER
Command has got a mole in FOXHOUND.
I don't know his name. But he's good.
He knows who you are, what you're doing,
what you're thinking and when you're going
to think it. You don't stand a chance.
Snake notices a door to the left of the corridor, and motions towards it.
SNAKE
What's in there?
SOLDIER
That's my living quarters.
Snake removes the SOCOM from the soldier's head, and brings it down sharply on the soldier's neck. He is knocked out from the impact, and falls. Snake catches his arms, and drags him towards the room. The door opens, and Snake sees a bed, a cabinet and a sink. He hauls the body up and onto the bed, then he crouches down and touches his earlobe.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel! There's a mole in FOXHOUND!

Oh man, it's great to see people using actual script format. The amount of times I've seen fanfics written like this:
Snake: Blah blah blah
*Something happens lolol*
Otacon: I need a piss.
The MGSF Project is written like it, but only because the others can't comprehend normal script.

Hehe. I've never written anything in script format before, so it's great to see everything going smoothly.
If you want to see another fan fic written in script format, check out the new
MGS : Second Skin.
Dani - September 10, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
That's pretty good. I love the fact that snake covers up the body with sand, as to give them a funeral.
One criticism though; Snake would never say "Drop the AK-47". He'd either say "drop the AK", or "drop your weapon".

Hey you were for that last year when you kept up with Second Skin. But since I'm a screenwriter now, I can't write in that shit format anymore.
And yes, so far it's coming along nicely. A couple of format issues:
1. When a character speaks, actions and the same character speaks again, you are supposed to add (con't) next to his name. Example:
SNAKE
Where are you?
Snake takes out a white card, which has the letter L on it, followed by a number 2. Snake looks down to the body.
SNAKE (con't)
Thanks.
Is the proper formation.
2. You still have someone listed as ???, fix that.
3. AGAIN, when a character isn't speaking to a person directly, you must address this, with:
SNAKE
(Into codec)
Colonel! There's a leak in FOXHOUND.
Now storywise:
Coming along well, but if the soldier was so calm about Snake holding him up, I don't think he should've given up that kind of intel so easily. In doing so, his boss will kill him anyway. But that's just me.
All in all, it's coming along, keep it up.
g-fox - September 10, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
i'm loving the story so far SSTG keep at it ^_^
Solid Snake The Great - September 11, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
@BigK: Everything's been sorted. I forgot about that last ??? and was wondering what the hell you were talking about. :)
@g-fox: Glad you like it. :)
Solid Snake The Great - September 12, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
And onto Chapter Three we go. I've brought back the ever faithful box, but with a twist. Enjoy!
INT. SOLDIER LIVING QUARTERS
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel?
Snake waits for an answer, but gets nothing. He sighs, and takes his hand away from his ear. He gets up, holding his SOCOM in his right hand, and exits the room. He quickly looks around for any guards, but sees none. He decides to take the left, and walks along swiftly and quickly. He reaches the end of the corridor and there is a corridor leading to the right, and pushes himself up against the wall on the right. He slowly crouches down, back still pressed against the wall. He slowly pokes his head round, just enough for his right eye to see. The camera is now from Snake's POV, and there are two guards patrolling the corridor, one taking half of the corridor towards Snake, and the other away from Snake.
SNAKE
Come on. Keep walking.
Snake stands up again, and knocks against the wall. The camera is now in the corner, with a full view of Snake hiding around the corner, and of the soldier approaching Snake's position.
SOLDIER ONE
Huh? What was that?
Snake drops his SOCOM quietly on the ground.
SOLDIER ONE
What the hell?
Snake takes his knife, and holds it firmly in his left hand. The soldier's footsteps can now be heard getting louder. The soldier reaches the end of the corridor and turns, but before he can scream, Snake stabs the soldier through the neck, and pulls him out of the corridor and behind the wall. The soldier's blood spills all over his armour, and drops to the floor, lifeless. Snake picks up his SOCOM, and takes another peek around. The other soldier still has his back towards Snake. Snake flips out and fires two bullets into the soldier's chest. The soldier falls to the floor.
SOLDIER TWO
Aaaaaaargh.... ugh... must..... get.....
hel-
Snake approaches the soldier, and walks over him. There is a lift at the end of the corridor, which he enters, and presses the up button. The lift doors close and Snake crouches down and touches his ear.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel! Answer me!
STILES (V.O)
Snake? What's up?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Danny? You need to get me the Colonel!
STILES (V.O)
Woah Snake. Calm down. The Colonel
is making himself a coffee. What seems
to be the problem? I'll pass on a message.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
It's really urgent that I speak to the
Colonel. No offence, but I don't know
you well enough to trust you. The
Colonel is the only one I can trust.
Tell him it's urgent!!
STILES (V.O)
Alright! Alright! Jeez man. Hold on
a second.
Snake waits for a few seconds, when Campbell comes to the CODEC.
COLONEL (V.O)
Snake. What seems to be the problem?
Has something happened?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel! One of the soldiers told me
something... something bad.
COLONEL (V.O)
What is it?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
He told me that there was a mole in
FOXHOUND.
COLONEL (V.O)
I can assure you, Snake, there are
no moles in FOXHOUND whatsoever.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
I believe him. He knew
my name, and said they knew everything
about me.
Campbell sighs.
COLONEL (V.O)
My God.... Did he give you a name,
anything to go on?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Negative.
COLONEL (V.O)
Alright. Continue with the mission. We'll
investigate. If there's a mole in FOXHOUND,
rest assured, we'll find them.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Right. Snake out.
Snake takes his hand away from his ear just as the lift doors open. He sees a corridor in front of him, with a soldier approaching him. The soldier looks at him and freezes in shock. Snake takes out his SOCOM and points it at the soldier's head.
SNAKE
FREEZE!!
SOLDIER ONE
INTRUDER SPOT-
The soldier falls to the ground as two bullets pierce his neck. Snake sighs in relief, but then a buzzer much like a fire alarm goes off.
SNAKE
Damn!!
The camera cuts from Snake and is now on the ground outside a door, which bursts open and five soldiers feet can be seen bursting out of it. The camera cuts again to in front of the soldiers as they turn right around a corner, and run towards the camera. As the soldier's turn right once more, the camera cuts to inside the lift, looking at the soldiers. The soldiers run a few feet, and stop, and the camera now points downwards, seeing a cardboard box to the left side of the corridor.
SOLDIER ONE
Where'd he go?
SOLDIER TWO
What the hell? Those guys who deliver
boxes around should be shot.
SOLDIER FOUR
Wait. Remember when we were briefed
about Snake? That guy said that he
sometimes evaded being captured by
hiding in a box. We should check out
that box.
SOLDIER ONE
Alright then. Gather around the box
guys! When I remove the box, you
guys aim your weapons at Snake.
We can't afford for him to escape
again. MOVE OUT!
The camera shows the five men surround the box, and aim their weapons at it. Soldier One nods at his fellow soldiers, and quickly lifts up the box, and throws it to the side. The camera shows a block of C4 on the ground.
SOLDIER FIVE
What the hell?
The camera is now back in the lift, and facing upwards. Snake can now be seen on the ceiling of the lift, with his feet pushing against one side of the lift, and his hands pushing against the other. He takes a deep breath, and drops to the floor of the lift with a crash. The five soldiers turn, and see Snake.
SOLDIER THREE
OH SH-
Snake pushes the detonator, and the C4 blows up, meaning the five soldiers are blown into the opposite wall. Limbs fly everywhere.
INT. COMMAND PRIVATE QUARTERS - ROOM ONE
The man with the green suit is sitting in a chair, with his helmet on the desk. His face is in darkness.
MAN
(INTO CODEC)
What is it?
MAN TWO (V.O)
Snake knows there's a mole in
FOXHOUND. How did he find out?
Are your soldiers leaking information
under the pressure Viper?
VIPER
(INTO CODEC)
I can assure you, it wasn't my fault.
Might your cover be blown?
MAN (V.O)
Don't talk shit! I get enough of that
over here. My cover isn't blown. But
Snake did tell Campbell that there's
a mole. So it must have been your
men. Never, EVER, lie to me, you
understand?
VIPER
(INTO CODEC)
HEY! Do you know who you're
messing with here? Don't give me
all that big man crap. I'm running the
show here, so I'm need deep in it. You,
you're in an office drinking coffee
and throwing one liners around all day
while I'm working my ass off trying
to keep this thing running.
MAN (V.O)
Forget it! Just make sure you
keep your men in line. If this comes
back to me, I'm giving them everything
I know about you, Chameleon, Asclepius
and Shriek. Is that clear?
VIPER
(INTO CODEC)
Crystal.
MAN (V.O)
Make sure you send him my love,
if you catch my drift.
VIPER
(INTO CODEC)
Don't worry. Chameleon will deal with
him. He'll have his balls on a platter
if you want.
MAN (V.O)
No thanks. Just get on with it.
VIPER
(INTO CODEC)
Viper out.
BigK - September 14, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
Well, that was certainly something.
Your use with Viper was a nice touch, the trick with Snake's box and planting C4 into the boxes was nice too. Snake stabbing the guy, informing the colonel, all good. Now what I think needs to be fixed:
*Also, keep in mind, I'm only giving you feedback on what to fix because you want to give screenplay format, and it's always been my opinion to offer positive feedback with critique, it offers positive imput while at the same time, you are pointed out the mistakes, and can fix them. Just be sure to impliment them in everything you write. :thumb: *
1. Roy/Campbell. You said Roy gets on the line. Yet on speech and dialogue, he is referred to by Snake as Campbell or Colonel. Colonel is fine for Snake to call him, and Campbell is a good dialogue logo, but stick with one name for dialogue and action, don't constantly switch from Campbell to Roy.
2. Profanity. I would generally try to avoid using the word fuck completely in MGS scripts since you've never heard it in any of their games. Shit's pushing it, but it's acceptable as long as it isn't use repeatedly.
3. The Colonel's reaction is way too soon. To immediately switch to What?! Who is it?! Who gave you a name?! There'd be some explaining to do before that, or at least some confusion. People don't just believe everything they're told, ESPECIALLY when they're told someone they know is stabbing them in the back.
Can't wait to read more. :thumb:
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 14, 2007 02:22 PM (GMT)
Awsome...But in the firtst chapter, I can't see Snake using a laser...It's just not stealthy, and it's never been in any other MGS. So Snake doesn't combine his knife with his gun anymore? Just asking.
In the second chapter...What's the ethnicity of the guard's? I mean. Homes? Not that it's bad...Just suprising. Shit is okay like BigK said, But Fuck is kinda mutch.
A good soldier Never drops his weapon...Maybe if you said, that he....Holsters his weapon, or something...but put it down? That's just asking for trouble. Wouldn't the Colonel, and Stiles, have different Codec numbers?although... And when snake is talking on the Codec to the Colonel, and the gaurd see's him...Snake's used the Codec long enough to know not to use it in the middle of the corridor.
But I really like all of the Story...And I hope to see more. Just little things that I question in my head sometimes. You know? But the story is awsome. :thumb:
Solid Snake The Great - September 14, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
@BigK: Everything is sorted. :)
@TBDOOH: He uses a laser because he always used would sometimes use a light, which IMO is worse. About the gun, meh. XD. And about the CODEC numbers, Stiles was answering for Campbell, because he was out of the room.
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 14, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
^That's cool, It's alright. It's your story isn't it? :thumb:
Solid Snake The Great - September 16, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
Onto Chapter Four! I've skipped a bit of boring sneaking through corridors. Enter Shriek!!!
INT. CORRIDOR ELEVEN
Snake moves swiftly to the end of the corridor, and is faced with blast door.
SNAKE
Blast door? Hmm. Must be something
going on in there.
Snake crouches to the floor and touches his ear.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel? This is Snake. Do you read
me?
COLONEL (V.O)
Loud and clear Snake. What's the
problem?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
I've reached a blast door at the end of
corridor eleven. Any idea of what's inside?
The snakecam won't fit under the door, and
there's no window. I don't want to walk into
a room with a thousand soldiers in it.
COLONEL (V.O)
I don't know. The thermal imaging we've
got on the base shows very low level
heating, and most of it seems to be coming
from one source. So it looks like you've only
got to deal with one of them.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Alright.
LANDY (V.O)
Wait! Snake, do you have any injuries at
all? I've heard you're not one to complain.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
I'm fine. Stop worrying.
LANDY (V.O)
(LAUGHS)
Well, I'm here for you if you need me. Just
give me a call.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Will do. Snake out.
Snake removes his hand from his ear. He holds his SOCOM firmly in his right hand, with his index finger on the trigger. He approaches the door, still crouching and walks in. The room is large, with several large crates scattered around. Snake looks around and sees a soldier, with his back to Snake, in the middle of the room. SHRIEK, white, short red hair, beard, tall, stocky, a scar that goes ear to ear over his forehead, missing both earlobes and wearing specially modified black/dark blue urban combat equipment, is holding a black helmet in his right hand. He has an MP5N is holstered on his utility belt, and there is a small box on the left side of the belt.
SNAKE
FREEZE!
SOLDIER
Hello, Snake.
The soldier begins to turn around.
SNAKE
DON'T MOVE!
SOLDIER
Relax Snake. There's nobody else in this
room. All the exits are, or soon will be,
shut off to anybody who tries to get in or
out. So it's just you and me.
SNAKE
What the hell?
SOLDIER
(INTO RADIO)
Chameleon! Shut the blast doors. Snake is
here.
CHAMELEON (V.O)
Roger that.
SNAKE
Who are you?
SOLDIER
I am Shriek.
SNAKE
Shriek? A member of the Black Vipers?
SHRIEK
Oh very good! Somebody has done their
homework!
(LAUGHS)
SNAKE
What's so funny?
SHRIEK
I underestimated you. I didn't think anybody
knew our codenames. Obviously, I was wrong.
But, I won't underestimate you now. With my
MP5N rifle and the Scream machine, I am
unstoppable.
SNAKE
The Scream machine? That little box on your
belt?
SHRIEK
How observant of you Snake. Indeed, the Scream
machine is the little box you describe. Can you
guess what it does?
SNAKE
Haven't a clue. Portable chess set?
SHRIEK
(LAUGHS)
You're a funny man Snake. If I weren't
going to kill you, I might have taken you out
for a pint. I'm sure you have many stories to tell.
SNAKE
No more than the next man.
SHRIEK
Anyway, the Scream machine. This little box,
when pressed, can amplify extremely loud
screeches.
SNAKE
Am I supposed to be impressed? Sounds like
a toddlers toy.
SHRIEK
Ha. Well, these extremely loud screeches
are so loud, that your eardrums will explode
if exposed to the sound for, ooh, about a
minute. And during that minute, you'll
be too busy clutching your ears, you won't
be able to do anything. The perfect opportunity
for me to make a clean kill. And, because of
a childhood accident, I hear everything at the
same decibel level. The decibel level of a normal
speaking voice. So, I am essentially unaffected.
SNAKE
Genius. Still, it's not exactly very manly of you.
SHRIEK
Oh? How so?
SNAKE
There's no fight. You'd just be killing an immobilised
man. Where's the honour and fighters spirit in that?
You're a disgrace of a soldier. You don't deserve the
power that the box gives you.
SHRIEK
You'd know all about that, wouldn't you Snake? Tell
me, would all the Vodka shots in the world silence
the screams of all those men you've slaughtered?
SNAKE
Maybe. But with that machine, your whole life
revolves around screams. Hows that going for you?
SHRIEK
Have you ever thought about stand up
comedy?
SNAKE
What the hell has that got to do with here and now?
SHRIEK
Nothing. But you do have a knack of making me
laugh. But that's irrelevant. I think your scream
will stick out in my mind more than anybody
elses.
SNAKE
I aim to please.
SHRIEK
Then I hope you give me a good fight. I've been
looking forward to this moment. Lets make it good!
SNAKE
Then lose the helmet and fight me!
SHRIEK
Oh, I forgot about this. The helmet has been specially
modified. Can you guess what it does?
SNAKE
Amplifies your voice?
SHRIEK
Excellent!
SNAKE
I'll eat my prize chocolate bar later.
SHRIEK
I don't think so. ENOUGH TALK. The time has come.
The time for you to die! COME ONE SNAKE! LETS
MAKE THIS SPECIAL! MAKE ME FEEL YOUR
HONOUR, YOUR FIGHTERS SPIRIT!
Snake bends his knees and grips his SOCOM with both hands, aiming at Shriek. Shriek whips out his MP5N and shoots a whole clip at Snake, who dives behind one of the crates.
SHRIEK
I am going to go down in history as the man who
killed the last Son of Big Boss! Fight me, Snake!!
BigK - September 17, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
Okay, read it, and here are my thoughts:
A lot needs works bud. Shriek did a lot of HAHAHAHAAA's, limit that. Also, jumping immediately to I will go down in history as the man who killed Big Boss' son, that sounds more like a concluding sentence then an opening sentence. I'd replace *Let's Finish This!* To that sentence.
If you want to make him laugh, just say so in actions:
Shriek chuckles, or Shriek laughs. No need to always use HAHAHA or hehehe. Actions speak just as loudly.
Also, description on character needs work as well. You don't call him the soldier in your description. You would refer to an introducing character by their name in capital letters. SHRIEK, *description.* Also you need a bit more info on what he looks like so the audience can actually get a visual idea of what Shriek looks like.
Other then that, no bad. Keep it going to our boss fight.
Solid Snake The Great - September 17, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
Awesome. I've read your comments, and edited the chapter accordingly. Enjoy! :thumb:
BigK - September 17, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
Better, but still, don't use cap locks on his last sentence, looks better in regular text.
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 17, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
Really, actually pretty good. I find myself visualizing all of this happening, like a cut-scene in my mind. And I like what I see. Keep it up! :thumb:
g-fox - September 19, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
looking forward to the next chapter :)
Solid Snake The Great - September 20, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Onto Chapter Five! The battle between Snake and Shriek commences.
INT. STORAGE ROOM - NIGHT
Snake dives to his right behind a large crate, with the writing "Crate One" written on it, as Shriek fires at him with an MP5N sub machines gun, and narrowly misses being hit. He gets up, and runs to the right, making sure not to reveal himself to Shriek.
SHRIEK
Come on Snake! Come out! Fight me
like a man.
Shriek approaches crate one, and reloads his clip. He moves slowly, gripping the MP5N tightly in both hands. He pops out from behind the crate, expecting to see Snake.
SHRIEK
(SARCASTICALLY)
Hey Snake! Wanna play hide and
seek?
Snake runs behind a crate, called "Crate Two" and presses his back against it.
SHRIEK
(LAUGHS)
You might be able to escape me,
but you can't escape the screams!
Oh, those awful, awful screams.
Snake touches his earlobe and enters the CODEC mode.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel! I'm up against Shriek.
COLONEL (V.O)
Shriek? A member of the Black
Vipers?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Yeah. The very same. He isn't
much of a soldier, but that
machine--
COLONEL (V.O)
I was listening. If you go any
where near him, he'll activate the
Scream Machine. Your best bet
would be to destroy that machine.
Then go in for the kill.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Alright.
COLONEL (V.O)
Just remember not to get too
close. If Shriek activates that
machine, there's a high chance
that you'll have difficulties
hearing afterwards.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Will do. Snake out.
Snake removes his hand from his earlobe, and runs to his right once more, and dives behind another crate, this time "Crate Four". Shriek pops out from Crate Two and unloads another clip. He drops the empty magazine and inserts another one.
SHRIEK
I'm getting impatient Snake!
You can't hide forever! If
your father could see you
hiding from a fight...
Snake runs towards another crate, "Crate Five," and hides behind it. He takes his SOCOM with his right hand, and looks around him. The camera take's Snake's POV, and looks around. He see's a loose floor slab about fifteen metres away.
SNAKE
Hmmm.
SHRIEK
Prepare to go deaf, Snake!
The camera zooms in on Shriek, who's left hand touches the Scream Machine, and a deafening sound is unleashed. The camera switches to Snake, who now falls to the floor, and clutches his ear. His SOCOM drops to the floor and the laser attachment smashes.
SNAKE
AAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!
MAKE IT STOP! OH GOD!
Shriek presses the Scream Machine once more, and the sound ceases. Snake removes his hands from his ears, and he slams to the floor. He grabs his SOCOM and throws the now broken laser attachment away. He gets up, and runs towards the broken floor slab.
SHRIEK
(LAUGHS)
How'd you like them apples,
Snake? Now fight me!!
Snake lifts the floor slab up, and jumps into the small hole. The slab is right next to a crate called "Crate Ten" The hole is about one metre deep, and one metre wide. He pulls the slab over his head, and slots it back into place, leaving just a tiny slit to see through. He grips his SOCOM tightly.
SHRIEK
Ready for seconds Snake?
Shriek is now visible through Snake's slit. He is standing to the side of Crate Five, about fifteen metres away. Snake gets ready to burst out of the hole. Shriek grips his MP5N tightly, and his left hand approaches the Scream Machine.
SNAKE
NOW!
Snake bursts out of the floor, and fires one shot at the Scream Machine, and one shot at Shriek's right hand. The slab goes flying through the air and smashes when it hits the floor. The Scream Machine explodes, knocking Shriek off his feet, and he drops the MP5N. Shriek grabs his right hand with his left, writhing in pain.
SHRIEK
Holy Jesus!
SNAKE
How do you like them apples,
Shriek?
Snake takes aim with his SOCOM at Shriek, and fires one shot at Shriek. The bullet doesn't make contact with Shriek, and hits the ground five metres away from Shriek's body.
SNAKE
What the hell?
Snake fires two more bullets, both which end up in the same range at the first bullet.
SHRIEK
(LAUGHS)
You didn't think I was alone,
did you? Oh Snake. If only
you knew how we operate.
SNAKE
In pairs?
SHRIEK
JACKPOT!
Snake is knocked off his feet and flies about seven metres away. He hits the floor hard, and his SOCOM flies even furthur away, out of reach. He reaches out with his right arm, but it is slammed back down to the ground. Suddenly, a body appears to form, and it's a foot that holds Snake's hand down. CHAMELEON, tall, wearing an exo-skeleton which completely covers his whole body. The exo-skeleton is completely silver, and has a utility belt fused to it. Chameleon's muscles are enhanced by the exo-skeleton. The belt has ten small ninja stars attached to it. Finally, a sword scabbard is attached to his back horizontally, with the sword's hilt level with Chameleon's head.
SNAKE
Oh no, no no no no NO! It
can't be you. You were crushed
by Metal Gear.
CHAMELEON
(AMPLIFIED VOICE)
No. I am not Gray Fox. I was
another test subject of that project.
When that idiot blew up the lab, I
salvaged what I could from the
wreckage, and constructed this
skeleton myself.
SNAKE
Optic Camoflauge eh? Nice touch.
Should've seen it coming.
SHRIEK
(LAUGHS)
Losing your skills Snake? Must be
getting old now.
SNAKE
.....
Chameleon grabs the hilt of the sword with his right hand, and unsheath's it slowly. He then swings it through the air, and slams it horizontally down into the floor, narrowly missing Snake's crotch.
CHAMELEON
You got lucky this time Snake. But
no fear, we shall meet again. And I
will kill you, should Asclepius fail
too.
SHRIEK
Lets get outta here. Knock him out,
Chameleon, and then help me up. I
can't move by myself.
CHAMELEON
Sure thing, Shriek.
Snake braces himself for the blow that should follow, but it never comes. Instead, Chameleon steps over Snake's body, and towards Shriek. He takes the blade, and slams it downwards into Shriek's skull. There is a crack, as the blade penetrates the skull.
CHAMELEON (CONTINUED)
The punishment for failure, is
death.
Chameleon walks back towards Snake.
SNAKE
Nice blade. HF?
CHAMELEON
Yes. Incredible blade.
SNAKE
So, I guess I'm next for the chop,
huh?
CHAMELEON
No. We will meet again, on a
different battlefield. But, your
time is still limited. I will kill
you if Asclepius fails. Remember
that.
Chameleon's body begins to disappear again. Snake waits a few seconds, and then gets up. He reaches out, grabbing nothing but thin air.
SNAKE
Damn.
The Black Devil Of Outer Heaven - September 20, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Very nice... :thumb: How do like them apples? :lmao:
g-fox - September 23, 2007 05:38 AM (GMT)
very nice battle there SSTG ^_^
Solid Snake The Great - October 11, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
I have to apologise for not updating for nearly three weeks, but school work has bogged me down. :( Anyway, I just thought now that I don't have any homework, that I'd write Chapter Six. And here it is;
INT. COMMAND PRIVATE QUARTERS - ROOM ONE
Viper is sitting at a desk, looking over some paperwork with a bottle of Vodka on the table alongside two glasses. There is a knock at the door, and it slides open. The camera switches to a close up of Viper, who looks up in the direction of the door.
VIPER
I usually expect people to wait
until I give them permission to
enter my office, Ocelot.
The camera switches to a view of the torso of the person who just entered the room. The person is wearing jet black gloves, a brown trench coat, body armour underneath the coat and has a Single Action Army pistol in his right hand.
OCELOT
I usually expect people I hire
to be able to do a job to a
certain standard.
VIPER
Which we are.
OCELOT
Then why am I here?
Viper nods in the direction of the Vodka bottle.
VIPER
Feel free to pour yourself
a glass.
OCELOT
Why would I need Vodka?
Have you got bad news for
me, Viper?
VIPER
Bad news? No. But I do need
some information.
OCELOT
On what?
VIPER
Solid Snake.
Ocelot flinches slightly. He reaches for the bottle of Vodka, and swiftly unscrews the lid off. He grabs one of the glasses, and pours himself a large one.
OCELOT
What do you need to know?
VIPER
Why he is here, would be a
place to start.
Ocelot puts the glass to his lips, and drinks the large quantity of vodka. He screws his face up, and gulps.
OCELOT
Solid Snake is here? Right
now?
VIPER
Somewhere in this facility,
yes.
OCELOT
That doesn't surprise me.
VIPER
I sent Shriek after
him. He failed to kill him, and
in turn we killed him. Now, I
want to know everything you
have got on Solid Snake.
Ocelot slumps in his chair and sighs.
OCELOT
What does he know?
VIPER
We don't know exactly, but
we don't want to take any
chances with him. He is
good. Nobody had ever faced
Shriek and beaten him before
Snake came along.
OCELOT
What do you know about him?
Viper picks up a file on his desk, and slides it over to Ocelot.
VIPER
Only what's in that file. The
usual biography. Soldier
who joined Special Unit
FOXHOUND in the 90's,
sent on his first mission
to rescue a soldier code-
named Gray Fox. Rescues
him, and goes on to be a
hero, destroying Metal Gear,
and defeating Big Boss. Is
sent back into the field four
years later to become a
hero again. Six years later,
is sent to Shadow Moses
Island, to defeat his former
unit and destroy Metal Gear.
Mission is a success,
America is safe, and everyone
is happy. That's as far as the
file goes.
OCELOT
That's only touching on the
surface. This soldier is far
greater than his father was.
VIPER
And who might that be?
OCELOT
The greatest soldier of the
Twentieth Century.
Viper sits up.
VIPER
You mean to say that Snake
is the son of Big Boss?
OCELOT
The one and only
Ocelot grabs his right arm, and applies pressure.
VIPER
What's the matter with you?
OCELOT
It's nothing. Forget about
it.
Ocelot gasps, and clutches at his head.
OCELOT
No, no, no no no NO!
VIPER
What the hell?
Ocelot outstreches his arms, falls to his knee and screams. He then falls to the floor.
VIPER
Jesus Christ. He's fainted.
Old fool.
Viper gets up, but stops as Ocelot holds up one hand as if to stop him. Ocelot puts his hands out in front of him and supports himself as he gets up. He grunts as he stands up straight. He then walks over to his seat and sits down in it once more.
VIPER
Ocelot?
MAN
No. My name, is Liquid
Snake!
VIPER
Liquid Snake? What the
hell is going on?
LIQUID
So he didn't tell you? Ha!
He must be ashamed.
VIPER
Tell me what?
LIQUID
During the Shadow Moses
incident, Ocelot had his arm
cut off by Gray Fox. Most
unfortunate. However, after I
had supposedly died, my
brother, Solidus Snake,
funded an arm transplant for
him. They used my arm, and
through that arm, I can possess
Ocelot, and get into his mind
whenever I wish. Genius, isn't
it?
VIPER
Drop the act Ocelot. You're
beginning to bore me.
Liquid pulls up the sleeve of his right arm, to reveal a slightly discoloured arm below the elbow, and a scar which goes all the way around his arm at the elbow.
LIQUID
Do you believe me now?
VIPER
My God.
LIQUID
I'll take that as a yes then.
Ocelot isn't telling you everything.
VIPER
What do you mean?
LIQUID
Have you ever wondered why he
hired you? Why he chose this
facility to be his target?
VIPER
For Pro-
LIQUID
Wrong. He's been decieving you.
I can tell you the whole story, but
first, you have to do something for
me.
VIPER
What?
LIQUID
I want my arm, to be reunited with
my body.
Viper laughs.
VIPER
Then you'll die.
LIQUID
Wrong again. I haven't finished yet.
After you steal my body back from
the US Government, I want you to
break into the secret vault at Langley,
where they're developing a new
project.
VIPER
What is it called?
LIQUID
You'll know when you find it. Just
look for the most guarded thing in
the Langley vault, and you'll have
it.
VIPER
So I'm supposed to steal your body,
sew your arm back onto it and steal
a heavily guarded project from the
US Government. What the hell am I
supposed to do after that?
LIQUID
Take a Langley scientist hostage
and put a gun to his head when you
get back. He'll know what to do.
BigK - October 11, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
Now we're getting somewhere, now we see Ocelot's being a little deceitful....as usual, nice touch, I wonder what he's up to.
A couple of things though: Ocelot: Jesus! I thought you guys were supposed to be professionals! Too out of character for dialogue. There are a couple of instances like that which you should fix, since it's an adaptation script, make it AS ON THE MONEY as you can kiddo. ;)
It's interesting with Viper, how little he and his men know about Snake, usually most of his enemies know about him and Big Boss, but since they're hired mercs, it makes sense. Keep it up. :thumb:
Solid Snake The Great - October 11, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
Cheers Kam. I've sorted out that Ocelot out of character bit, and I've made a tiny, tiny minor change that probably nobody will ever notice. I was thinking that when I'm done with this script, which won't be anytime soon, I'll start my own series. A completely new story. Still, it's just an idea at this stage, and maybe towards the end of Reborn I'll start thinking about it in more detail.
g-fox - October 13, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
Solid Snake The Great - October 14, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
Cheers g-fox. And onto Chapter Seven!
INT. STORAGE ROOM
Snake brushes the dust off his shoulders and looks around the storage room. He sees two exits, one which he entered the room through, and another one. He runs to the exit he hadn't used, but nothing happens. Snake slams his fists against the door in failure. He crouches down and puts his hand to his ear.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel, do you read me? I
just ran into Shriek and his
buddy Chameleon.
COLONEL (V.O)
Are you alright?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
A little shaken, but fine. Shriek
is dead, and Chameleon got
away.
COLONEL (V.O)
Got away? Did you chase him?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Negative. Chameleon used
Optic Camoflauge to escape.
He had me pinned, and then
he just disappeared.
COLONEL (V.O)
You'll be meeting him again.
One down, three to go.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Right. There's two exits, one
which I already came through,
and the other one which is
locked down, tight. Can you
get it open for me?
OTACON (V.O)
I'll handle it Snake. Give me
a few minutes.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Alright. Snake out.
Snake stands up and takes his SOCOM in both hands, ready for whatever may be behind the door. There is a wooshing sound as the blast door slides open, and Snake steps in. The camera switches to Snake's POV, which shows a long corridor. There is nobody there. The camera returns to center on Snake, who crouches down once more and touches his earlobe.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Otacon, there's nobody here.
It's not right. Can you do a
thermal scan of the area? I
don't like it.
OTACON (V.O)
Sure thing Snake. Hold on
a second.
There is a pause.
OTACON (V.O)
(CONTINUED)
Nobody there Snake, but the
sensors are picking up little
boxes of heat along the
hallway, on both sides in a
pattern like sequence.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Any idea what they are?
OTACON (V.O)
From the looks of things,
Claymore mines.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Damn. Alright, Snake out.
Snake stands up once again, and scans the area. He can't see any Claymore mines on any side of the hallway. He reaches into his utility belt and takes out a magazine for his SOCOM, and removes one bullet. He then throws it along the ground. There is a deafening explosion as all the Claymores explode one by one. The camera centers on Snake's face. Snake is covering his ears, but smiling at the same time.
OTACON (V.O)
Jesus Snake! What in the
world happened?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
The Claymores exploded.
OTACON (V.O)
What?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Just check that there aren't
any more surprises lying
around the hallway.
OTACON (V.O)
Well, there were six Claymore
mines, and one Claymore
should only create approx-
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Otacon!
OTACON (V.O)
... According to my cal-
culations no. There is still
so much heat, but times
the average amount of heat
generated by the explosion
of a Claymore by six, and
you have about the same
amount of heat in that hall
way, so I'm guessing you're
safe.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Right. Snake out.
INT. FACILITY CONTROL CENTER
The camera centers on a soldier who is looking at three monitors. There is a beeping noise. The soldier looks at the screens, and sees that the heat levels have soared in Hallway seventeen.
SOLDIER ONE
SIR! Take a look at this.
Viper approahces the soldier.
VIPER
What is it?
SOLDIER ONE
The Claymores that were set
in Hallway seventeen have
exploded sir.
VIPER
And Snake?
SOLDIER ONE
We can't tell for sure yet, since
the heat generated from the
explosion is still hot, but nobody
could see those Claymores
after the Stealth Camoflauge
we put over each one. And it
wouldn't have been one of our
own since we told everyone
not to go that way. It's gotta
be him.
VIPER
Alright then. Good work soldier.
VIPER
Carry on the good work soldier.
SOLDIER ONE
Yes sir!
INT. COMMAND PRIVATE QUARTERS - ROOM ONE.
Viper is sitting behind his desk. There is a knock at the door.
VIPER
Come in.
A man enters the room. ASCLEPIUS, tall, strong, wearing urban Falcon Assault armour, urban combat trousers and jacket. His face is pale, blue eyes, blond hair. He also wears a utility belt, which has a pouch for his gun, a Mk23 pistol. The belt also has a big patch on his left side which contains more tranquilizer darts and adrenaline shot.
ASCLEPIUS
You wanted to see me sir?
VIPER
Yes, sit down Asclepius.
Asclepius walks over to a chair which he then sits down in. He relaxes, and puts his right ankle on top of his left knee.
VIPER
Drink?
ASCLEPIUS
Not for me thanks. I heard
about Shriek. Always knew
the old fool couldn't handle
a warrior like Snake. Why
didn't you send me instead?
VIPER
Because you always send
the pawns first. Don't you
play chess?
ASCLEPIUS
Haha. So, what's this all
about?
VIPER
Snake is supposedly dead.
The Claymores we planted
in Hallway seventeen
exploded a little while ago.
But I'm not sure. Snake is
clever.
ASCLEPIUS
But nobody could have seen
the mines because of the
Stealth Camoflauge.
VIPER
Maybe so. But he does have
back up.
ASCLEPIUS
True. What do you want me
to do?
VIPER
I want you to go down to the
chamber where we keep the
drinking water, and wait for
Snake there. I know he isn't
dead. I can feel it.
ASCLEPIUS
Is it wise to let him get that
far?
VIPER
It doesn't matter. He won't
get past you. After all, you
regenerate from any wound
you recieve. He doesn't
stand a chance. He'll just
get tired, and then you'll
kill him.
ASCLEPIUS
Very well. It shall be done.
I'll head to the chamber now.
VIPER
Excellent. Inform me when
Snake has been disposed
of.
ASCLEPIUS
It shall be done.
Solid Snake The Great - November 15, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
Well, after no update after a month, I bring you chapter eight!
INT. HALLWAY SEVENTEEN
Snake lets the dust and smoke from the explosion settle. He holds his SOCOM tightly in both hands, and walks towards the door at the end of the corridor. The door slides open and Snake leaps out, gun held high. He looks right and then left. Nobody there. He scans the room. The room is fairly small, with another door opposite the one Snake entered in. To the sides of the room are shelves, with weapons stacked upon them. Snake walks over to the left set of shelves and takes one M4, four spare M4 compatible magazines and 4 grenades. He crouches down to the floor and touches his ear.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel, I've managed to pick
up some supplies.
COLONEL (V.O)
Excellent work Snake. How
are you doing for ammo for
your SOCOM?
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Kind of low. I have less than half
the amount of rounds I had when
the mission started. I'll see if there
are any decent handguns here.
Snake gets up, and scans the shelves. He picks out a Beretta 92F and a Walther P99. He crouches back down again.
SNAKE (CONTINUED)
(INTO CODEC)
Colonel, I've picked up a Beretta
92F and a Walther P99. Any
suggestions Danny?
STYLES (V.O)
You've got some quality guns
there Snake. My personal choice
would be the Beretta. I've always
found it to be more reliable than
the Walther.
SNAKE
(INTO CODEC)
Alright, thanks. Snake out.
Snake gets up once more, and puts the Beretta in his back pack. He slots his SOCOM in the holster, and grabs the M4. He approaches the door, gripping the M4. The door slides open, and Snake pops out. He turns left and right, scanning the room exaclty how he did the previous time. The room is a maze of tanks. He walks in, holding the M4 high to his shoulder. He bends his knees, and slowly moves towards the center of the room. He approaches one of the tanks, which is labelled "Drinkable Water."
SNAKE
I don't suppose the guys will mind
that much if I have a sip.
Snake reaches towards the tap, when he notices a shadow passing along the tank at a quick pace. Snake takes his M4 and crouches down slightly. He looks around, and then walks slowly away from the tank, towards the end of the room. He keeps looking around, and notices a piece of paper on the floor. He picks it up and looks at it. The camera switches to show the message on the paper. It shows "SNAKE I PRESUME?" Snake lets go of the paper and carries on moving. He holds his M4 up high. He gets to the end of the corridor, and pops out of the cover of the tank, turning left and right. Nothing. He looks back at the crate, and notices another piece of paper. The camera switches to the piece of paper, which reads "SLEEP TIGHT!"
SNAKE
What the hell?
The camera switches to directly in front of Snake, and shows behind Snake, a shadow. The shadow reaches high, holding a pistol, and brings it down hard upon Snake's upper neck.
SNAKE
Urgh....
Snake falls to the floor, and the camera swithces to a side view of the shadow's face, where we can see he smiles. The camera blacks out. When the camera fades back in, Snake is lying on the floor, with his M4 in his right hand.
MAN
(WHISPERING)
Wake up Snake. Wake up soldier.
SNAKE
Ugh....
Snake shifts his body so he is sitting down. The camera centers around Snake's face and he has a surprised look on his face.
MAN
Alas, finally we meet.
The camera switches to show a side view of Snake sitting down and looking at Asclepius, who is standing up.
SNAKE
Who are you?
ASCLEPIUS
I am Asclepius, a member of the
elite Black Vipers. And my face
will be the last you will ever see.
SNAKE
You wouldn't be the first to have
said that to me.
ASCLEPIUS
Then I shall be the last.
Asclepius walks to his right, over to a barrier.
ASCLEPIUS
Come Snake. I want to show you
something.
Snake gets up, and walks over to the barrier, making sure to keep himself a safe distance away from Asclepius. Asclepius points down below.
ASCLEPIUS
Do you see down there Snake?
Our supply of drinking water in
tanks.
The camera moves over Snake and Asclepius to show the tanks. It then shows another side view of the two but from the other side of the barrier.
SNAKE
Why are you showing me this?
ASCLEPIUS
I just wanted you to know where
I will cut your guts open. Where
would you like me to dispose of
your body?
SNAKE
Huh?
ASCLEPIUS
I always ask a man where he
would like his body to be disposed
of after he's dead. As a sign
of respect to the dead man.
I am a man of honour, Snake.
Every man has the right to a
funeral. Yours, however, won't
be as glamorous as most
people's funerals.
SNAKE
I am a man of peace....
ASCLEPIUS
You're a pawn for the United
States government!
SNAKE
No. We're not tools of the
government, or anyone else.
I fight for my country, for my
people. For the innocent kids
whose lives are constantly
being threatened by murderers
like you!
ASCLEPIUS
You're nothing but a blind fool.
You're just falling deeper and
deeper into the Patriots grasp.
Then, when they decide you're
no longer of use to them, they
will terminate you, if I don't get
there first.
SNAKE
I am NOT working for the Patriots!
ASCLEPIUS
Then why enter the battlefield once
more? Why put your life at risk again
when you KNOW that the Patriots
are in total control of America and
her government? Why Snake?
SNAKE
.......
ASCLEPIUS
(LAUGHING)
See? You're nothing but a pawn for
The Patriots.
SNAKE
No. The Patriots have been dead for
about a hundred years. They can't be
in control any more.
ASCLEPIUS
You really have no idea, have you?
The Black Vipers are fighting against
the Patriots! It has nothing to do with
America, or it's people. Sometimes
you have to make sacrifices, and that's
what we're doing. We will eliminate the
Patriots.
SNAKE
You're insane.
ASCLEPIUS
Really? I'm insane? Well, if I was you
could hardly blame me. All those times
I've died before -
SNAKE
All those times you've died before? You
think you've got nine lives?
ASCLEPIUS
(LAUGHING)
You obviously don't know about me and my
ability.
SNAKE
Ability?
ASCLEPIUS
My ability to regenerate from any physical
wound.
SNAKE
What the hell?
ASCLEPIUS
When I was younger, I was severely burned
in a fire at my school. I survived, but with
life threatening wounds. I was in hospital for
about four months. When I was just about
on the mend, I started sleepwalking, and I
reopened all my wounds. I crashed into a
medical cabinet, and thirty litres of Pheonix
tears fell on me. The pain was excrutiating,
but my wounds went. The Pheonix tears
completely healed me. And now, my blood
is diluted in the stuff so much that I can
regenerate from any wound you may inflict
upon me.
SNAKE
I bet a bullet in the head from my M4 would
finish you off.
ASCLEPIUS
Then try it!
Asclepius turns towards Snake and grabs his MK23 out of his pocket. Snake lifts his M4 high, in line with Asclepius' head.
SNAKE
FREEZE! Throw your weapon to me, slowly.
ASCLEPIUS
Shoot me! Just do it! Pull the trigg -
A gunshot is heard as Snake pulls the trigger, and a bullet smashes clean through into Asclepius' skull.
