Title: Gonorrhea?
Description: serious replies please

NickRocks - September 19, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
so my gf called me today and shes like "i have gonorrhea". the only person she could have contracted it from was me, as she got checked before we had sex, but i too got checked before i had sex with her, and i've never had any symptoms of it.

my first question is, for anyone who knows...
is there a way to contract gonorrhea without having sex? because google doesnt show shit for it.

and the second question is...
how quick should i be to blame her?

It can be transmitted through oral sex as well as intercourse as far as I've heard.
I don't think there are any other ways to contract it...

Sorry for your luck man...

Did you fuck with or without a condom? If it was with then unless the condom broke it should be evident anyway that she's been playing.

They had checks JCC before it. So even if it split and either was 'clean' then it shouldnt of been a problem. I guess if they got checked then they were not using a condom.

Best bet fella would be to go for a check again to be on the safe side.

Bit I found on internet:

QUOTE
How do you get gonorrhea?

This STD is spread through contact with an infected vagina, penis, anus, or mouth. It is spread through semen or vaginal fluids during unprotected sexual contact with a partner who has it. Touching infected sex organs, like the vagina or penis, and then touching your eyes can cause an eye infection. It cannot be passed by shaking hands or sitting on a toilet seat.

Gonorrhea can also be passed from a pregnant woman to her baby during the birth process through a vaginal delivery. In babies, gonorrhea infection may cause blindness, joint infection, or a life threatening blood infection.

-Edit again-

I'd also ask if there has been anyone else on her side just to be sure. Because if they dont know they've got it theyve got to be told aswell really.

first off, no we were not using a condom, because she is pregnant.

my first thought was to go all out and accuse her, but i dont want to do that without being 100% sure, and on top of that, she's never given me a reason to believe shes doing anything(or anyone) else. Believe me, im kind of a psycho boyfriend, and im all over that shit lol. so i know without a doubt theres no one else. besides, it wouldnt be good for our relationship to bring doubt into it, and thats something im trying to hold off on doing.

but it is kind of weird that the whole time im with her, neither of us show ANY symptoms of it at all, then she gets pregnant and gets tested and she has it?

im going to get checked this coming week anyways. shes getting a penicillin shot (apparently she cant just take pills cuz shes pregnant) and well see if this ever comes up again. hopefully it doesnt.

Maybe it's one of those things where even though sometimes you don't show symptoms for it, you've still got it.
Anyway, sorry about that dude.

I'm not sure what's positive about her having gonorrhea. But you can't really do anything about it until she has the baby.

I'm not saying there's anything positive with that situation (no offense), but I was only reminding to always keep your cool in difficult situations, so everything doesn't fall to crap... well, even more (again, no offense).

But really, I don't think you should blame her at all. I mean especially if she's have a baby. You don't want that type of thing going down unless your absolutely sure, and even then only if your sure you want to end it. because that's probably where it'll lead.

Nick, my dear old friend, I don't know what to say right now. I have heard of cases where one could have it as in being a carrier of said STI or STD and then pass it without ever having the symptons. But alas mate I've really only heard that for more of an infection such as HIV or AIDs.

Do hear out though, I'm not doubting that could happen for Gonorrhea. She could have been a carrier without symptons and passed to you and perhaps later her baby. Or visa versa.

Best bet if it doesn't go away, get a C-section
