Title: Horror genre

Why are all new horror movies horrible. Every recent one I can think of has received a terrible score on Rotten Tomatoes. Why is there nothing original, and why are there so many fucking clones? Seems like people shoot the first thing that comes to mind. Any why are horror movies always prone to getting poor reviews?

Horror is the new big thing. Esp. shock and awe flicks themed around torture or ones inspired from Japanese horror flicks.

Why do they suck?

No script+ Low Budget= Sucky film

But theres enough idiots in the masses to ensure films like Saw IV get massve box office results.

Not all recent horror films are horrible, take The Descent, Grindhouse and Devil's Rejects. Most horror fans I know enjoyed all of them.

And if you're going by Rotten Tomatoes abc123, you should take a look at The Descent and Grindhouse (Death Proof/Planet Terror).

I think that you have to have a natural comedy for the Horror flicks

The last good horror film I watched was Silent Hill. No crappy teenagers, horrific monsters, it was very good.

I actually laugh at most modern horror films nowadays, even though they're supposed to scare you. Bloody teenage characters ruin it.

Then again, it takes alot to scare me. I watched the Alien films when I was about 12 and they had no effect on me. Only one film has truly ever terrified me, and that was The Thing. That is how horror movies should be!

The majority of them suck ass because it's a fad that the industry has latched onto. As a result, they have to make more quickly to fuel demand, without bothering to even concoct a decent screenplay.

It's the same situation with Teen Comedies, same formula, tired jokes and poor stories etc.

It's simple. Everyone's using the same shit scare tactics. Psychological thriller?.....my ass.

I stick with the old B-raters like The Evil Dead.

most of them suck because feel that there's nothing else to film. it's all been done. which is just a bunch of bull. there's plenty of things to film, you just need to find then go out into the world a little. find inspiration, then make a film. how easy is that?

but whatever....

Because horror is one of the most overused genres out there... people are finding less ways to scare people... As of now the fad of horror films is fading and will be replaced (like in every other era) by something more 'in'...

I heard that Hostel and Hostel 2 are really scary. Should give them a try.
