Not sure if anyone's seen this but there's a trailer for a new Rambo film
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELnB5-CTJrAWhat you think?
Solid Snake The Great - November 11, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
I think old Sly Stallone is getting a bit too old to be doing sequels to movies that were a success when he did them in his prime. First it was Rocky Balboa, and now he's doing another Rambo. Seems a bit like a movie made to blatantly cash in on a popular movie franchise which is long finished.

I completely agree, you could possibly get away with reviving the series and just cast another Rambo, a 65 or whatever age he is Rambo in the middle of a war, who it appears has also converted to Christianity? Please....

Did you even see how shitty his last Rocky was? He just couldn't have ended it the series the way it was.

While it may turn out to ruin the franchise, i am sure there are many who are just gagging to see another rambo film (me for one). I have always said Rambo is the film version of solid snake and the films are excellent, I personally can't wait for this

I thought the last rocky was better than the previous 3. The new rambo looks violent as hell so I think I'm going to give this movie a chance.

No thanks.
I want to be able to tell what Snake is saying.
Saw this trailer a while back, it should be good going off the trailer. But then again the Alien VS Predator trailer was pretty good but the actual movie was a pile of turd.

it looks so bloody! cant wait haha, finally a "in ur face" action film again, hopefully people will be pulling cool flips wen the get blown up by grenades like in the other films haha, dying in style, and yeah i had the same feeling about the mgs/rambo thing, i wouldnt want sly playing snake tho! haha "colonel im outlblsaisde the aseleveatr yeahhhh! uh! uh!" "snake... what have i said... think bfore u speak!"
but i wonder if kojima got any influence from them films, seems it to me
p.s love the way he rips the guys throat out hahaha

Elder Roy Campbell's design is based off Colonel Trautmann.
Blue Phoenix - November 16, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
*cough* bandanna *cough* lol kojima definately had influence by these films, theres loads of refrences to them, big and small. i mean when u fire the M63 on mgs3 or on MGO the character starts screaming, thats classic rambo  and sigint and snake have a big conversation about rambos knife (obv they dont call it rambos knife, but it has all the same features) the halo jump at the start of mgs3 is fairly similar i guess. which is y i think making a film of MGS is quite ironic, it takes so many influences from movies that its going to be very hard to make a movie without it looking like its ripped off other films in certain ways.
rayofdoom - November 16, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
well duh... its obvious that the character designs were inspired by these characters, as well as the relationship between Rambo/snake and the colonels and a few other things too. people are idiots if they cant see that
doubleo sigint - November 24, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
this i gotta see lol i wonder if colonel trautman will make an apperance or should i say colonel campbell lol

Sadly no, Richard Crenna, colonel trautman's actor died in 2003. If im not mistaken though, im sure stallone said there will be some reference in the film to trautman.

i just saw the trailer today when I went to see Hitman, it doesn't really interest me that much
looks like they want to make it look like one of the old movies instead of reinventing it to the modern day

Is there a problem with that? The old movies were awsome, theres no need to change the formula when it obviously works great.
Solid Snake8 - November 25, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
It has the potential to be awesomely awesome. Rocky Balboa was a big success so I hope he continues the trend in John Rambo. (Can you tell that I'm a Stallone fan?) *Covers up signature*

For me, Rambo is on the holy trinity of action movies for me. Here's my triangle; Rambo, Die Hard, and James Bond.
So, I'm very excited for a new Rambo film!

Its like squeezing water out of a damp sponge they wanna see how much money they can get out of it. You can bet that there will be a lot of peopel going to see the movie but you can also bet that its gonna be even dumber than the last movies.
Helikaon - November 30, 2007 09:26 AM (GMT)
Actually it has a pretty good plot this time, R3 was absolutely insane (but also one of my favorite movies) in terms of plot, but this time they have done a smart thing by going away from a world known conflict (First Blood/First Blood Part 2= Vietnam, Rambo 3= Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan) and taking a lesser known (unfortunately, more people should know about it) conflict and having Ramo helping someone he cares about instead of just some POWs or his ex-commander.
