Title: Tales of Philanthropy

God Told Me to Skin You Alive - November 16, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
This is a song I've written recently, complete with music so I wasn't sure where to put it (Music/Writer's Forum) so move it please if it's in the wrong place. ;)

LYRICS

Pretty much complete, except maybe another verse is called for. Hard to tell the melody without the music, but hey. Brackets indicate back up singing.

- - - Tales of Philanthropy - - -

(Verse #1)
I've got a bad disease, it's a very
Contagious lack of sleep
Where it'll go
I just don't know, but I know
I'll be going home again that way soon

(Chorus #1)
All I've done
All I breathe
It's all I wanted you to be
Where we've wasted and
What we've tasted
Where we laid down and died (a thousand times)
It's not for you and
It's not for me
To hear such tales
Of philanthropy
(It's not for you) and
(It's not for me)
(To hear such tales of philanthropy)

(Chorus #2)
Out in the field
It's ashen and blue
As the old man speaks
Of things he once knew
We listen on
So eagerly
To hear such tales
Of philanthropy
Where we've wasted and
What we've tasted
Where we laid down and died (a thousand times)
(It's not for you) and
(It's not for me)
(To hear such tales)
(Of philanthropy)

Bass

Ok, music time. Here's the bass line I've written, complete but for a bridge.

Not bad, lyrically.
I can't read music for shit, even though I write it on an industrial program.

Man you know if you're gonna play this, it would be awesome if you could record it and post it up. I've heard your guitar solos, they weren't half bad actually. But anywho, good lyrics bud.

Yeah, like I said on MSN, I love the lyrics, but I have no idea how to read the music.
Not many non-MGS fans will get it, but never mind.

I really like the lyrics, they look good. Make sure you do record it and stick it on here man.

Thanks, as I said to Ichbin on MSN: I realise that most people wouldn't understand the tabs, least of all in the Writer's Forum, (hence why it might need to be moved to the Music Forum) but meh. If there is someone who can understand it, they can appreciate it. ;)

Thanks man, now that the band is back together after about a month it might be recorded soon- keep an eye out for it! And thanks for the compliments.
Interesting how you think my guitar solos were good considering I'm a bassist, but hey- thanks anyway! :thumb:

And thanks the positive feedback again Andrew!

325BPM?

I think you meant 225.

325 is godly.

Actually, I was thinking that might be too slow...
