Title: Xbox version doesn't work on 360
Description: This sucks!
WHiTeFaLCoN - November 22, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
I made my 360 backwards compatible, and was dead chuffed that I could play my XBox1 games.
Till I put in MGS2:Substance and it didn't work. I heard that the 360 isn't compatible with all the games, what really pisses me off is that below average games like Shadow The Hedgehog and Crash Twinsanity does work on the 360 but MGS2, a mega excellent game, doesn't! What the fuck is that about?
Helikaon - November 22, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
A lot of XBOX games don't work on 360, most of them far superior to the port of MGS2.

Splinter Cell games work. Microsoft favouratism perhaps?

Doubt it, I'd just say that some games don't work with backwards compatibility.

The XBox 360 wasn't built to be backwards compatible. Since everything is done via software emulation and driver wrappers there are going to be bugs and issues that just can't be overcome.

I was under the understanding that it isn't possible due to the 360's lack of analog face buttons.

Yeah but theres no need to have that many face buttons, you have the bumpers which replaced the white and black buttons.
And yeah I am really mad at this too!!!! I tried playing it yesterday and it didn't work!!!!!!

Xbox "mothership" controller had the same amount of buttons as PS2: 13
If I remember correctly the GameCude controller had more than the other two.
The L/R bumpers are the B/W buttons, just moved above the R/L triggers.
It's a shame the game doesn't work on 360, but you aren't missing out on much, the port was terrible (so bad Kojima has vowed to never work on console another port)

That had happened to my friend too. Now he plays it on my PS2.

I didn't even know the Metal Gear Solids were made for the Xbox too.

They dont, They ported MGS2S and it sold shoddily and I hear it was incredibly lame because of the change in control system. A PC version was also released and that was heavily bugged and worked on hardly any computers.
@Topic: Microsoft make games backwards compatable based on how popular the game is and how much it sold. MGS2S sold shoddily so they dont think it would have much want. Also I hear there's an email address you can use to suggest games but those at TUS did it and nothing so far
SolidSnake52 - December 31, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
Probably due to lack of sales like Micster said.
