Gene - November 29, 2007 08:45 AM (GMT)
Who is gonna watch the hitman movie when it is out in cinimas? in the UK it is going to be out on firday the 30th but i believe it is already out in the states.
I am going to go and watch it on friday (gonna have to lie my way in though because its a 15 and im only 14 <_< ) For you who have already watched is it good?
Refluxe - November 29, 2007 08:51 AM (GMT)
I'll probably see it but already don't think much of it because of Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47. Completely spat on my perception of Hitman, all I think of is a little pansy cyber-terrorist when I look at him...
Helikaon - November 29, 2007 08:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah same, when I see it I'll just imagine a harder, bald actor on his face and body.
Also try to ignore the not-Hitman shooting...
God Told Me to Skin You Alive - November 29, 2007 09:01 AM (GMT)
^^ And the love interest shit.
Gene - November 29, 2007 09:02 AM (GMT)
Love interest what is all that about?
God Told Me to Skin You Alive - November 29, 2007 09:09 AM (GMT)
There's some random chick in the movie that's gonna be Agent 47's 'love interest', she's in one of the trailers.
Also, I read some interview with Tim Elephant that said he was concentrating on expanding the 'human' side of Agent 47, including love. I think it's on the Wikipedia page somewhere.
So yeah, going from awesome to generic pretty fast.
Red Queen - November 29, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
I have seen it already, don't ask how. :P
Surprisingly, it's not such a trash for a movie that was bade based on a game, but there are some typical stupidities, like when Hitman barely escapes from a hotel room, naked and soaking wet and then around the next corner he has a fresh tuxedo, white shirt and a tie and that package doesn't include just one, but two katanas.
Metal_girl_Solid - November 29, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
Timothy Olyphant's face is waaaay too young to pass for 47.
He's not really a believable aactor in that way, or the movie has to take place in the past. Don't know about the storyline yet though

But 47 isn't a bleeding human... not really
Even taking away the clone side, he is a bleeding assassin.
I need to stop using bleeding as an adjective...

'I know, lets take a perfectly good concept and we'll throw in a love story as well'. Good one.

I really want to see this movie but I can't for the following reason; it's a 15, and I'm only 14. Plus, unless I go to a crappy cinema where they don't have people showing you where your screen is, I couldn't sneak into it anyway.
I really do want to read a proper review regarding it. After a quick Google search, I haven't found one. Odd.

I've been passing for 15 at cinemas for a couple of years now, cinemas are lax.
That being said, I'm not sure I'll see this.

I am deffinatly going to go and watch this i have been dying to see it since i saw the trailor a month or two back.

What really annoys me is that they could have made this a film that'll be remembered forever and becomes a classic in no-time. but the cocked up. Agent 47's voice actor looks is used for the face models in the game so i dont know why he wasnt used.
Or my maths teacher, he looks like 47......

Ouch. Lots of complaints about the plot and the logic of the film, from what I've read.

I will definitely see the movie, but I dont think that it is something special.
Helikaon - December 1, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
It isn't, it's tripe. I saw it yesterday and I was barely able to watch it, it's one of the worst movies I have seen and I've seen a lot of bad movies.
If it wasn't called Hitman it would be a pretty good action film, but th fact that they have used the Hitman name is just unforgivable.
ichbinscissors61 - December 1, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
I won't be seeing it, I'm fairly sure. I quite enjoy the games, but the movie sounds bad from what I've heard so far. I only watched that first trailer, but it seemed as if he was supposed to be some kind of good guy, cleansing the world of criminals. This is not the case, I'm sure 47 would kill whoever he was paid to. And a love interest? Just stupid. He's got no interests in that sort of thing, all that matters to him is the money, although I have wondered before what he did in his spare time. Maybe gardening, as he was for Father Vittorio. Sounds like a pretty bad film to me, I'll stick to the games.
Gene - December 1, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
I'm going to watch it tomorrow i loved the games aswell.

I was rather impressed with this, as a matter of fact. I saw it on opening day, and it was much better than I expected.
True, they did express a more human side to 47, but not in a "love interest" sort of way. It was more of a slight sociability than anything else. They had to do this because, as this was a movie, he would be placed in situations beyond gunfights and sneaking into restricted areas. He would be out there "in the real world" so to speak, so he would have to be shown acting in a somewhat less rigid manner.
Ultimately, I think Olyphant did extremely well in this role. His acting was spot-on, and the subtle humor in the movie was very well-executed. The action scenes were beyond reproach, and not once was I left wanting more from a scene.
All in all, a good movie worth watching.
My only complaint:
I thought 47 was a clone, not an orphan.
Gene - December 7, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
^ Yeah i agree with the love thing, and i thought 47 was a clone to but i think he is just a orphan that is genetically modified. I loved the film and have started blood money again because of it.

Actually I thought it was really good, and stayed true to the games. They didn't do what I would have done- shown hit after hit in different locations using different strategies- but they made it into a commercial movie, watchable to the masses yet palatable to the gamers, much in the vein of the Bourne Identity movies.
Some of it was over the top, some of it was subtle, all of it extremely good. 7.5-8/10
sadistic_greyfox - December 9, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
Actually I enjoyed the movie alot since my expectations weren't that high. normally when I don't feel hyped up for a movie and go watch it I enjoy it all that more since i expected a very low standard. To me it was the second best movie adaptation since Silent Hill.
