Title: insight for a noob

Ninja Sweet - December 3, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
you guys are all doing my head in :P i recently joined up to this forum, and am amazed at the depth you all put into this series. so i thought ide try too. sorry if anything im about to say has been covered before.
in snake eater, through out the game, the boss refers to snake as "jack", yet when ocelot asks snakes name at the end on the wig, snake replies "john"?
was this because his real name is john? or was he just lying to ocelot?
if he was lying and his name is jack, is it by coincidence that raidens name is also jack?
someone mentioned in here when fighting the boss that there are 4 snakes in the field, and played on from that, that there may be a 4th clone.
the fact that raiden shares the same name as the big boss turned me onto this.
and i know what you might think "raiden looks nothing like big boss" and your right.
BUT, i think he seriously resembles liquid...
which would be a good way to twist the story on after snake goes in mgs4.

also where do you all find out your stuff? when i read ocelot was the boss' son, i nearly choked

anyway, thats my rant, now come on and shoot me down :P

  • I think he was lying to Ocelot when he said his name was John, he does this more feebly with Para-Medic too, "John Doe".
  • There are four snakes in the field, 3 special white ones representing the 3 Snakes to come (Solid, Lliquid and Solidus) and a Green Python (or, Naked Snaked himself).
  • Raiden is not a clone of Big Boss.
  • Most of it comes from Codec conversations, it pays to call the same dudes over and over.

Anything else?

wassnt so much think of a clone of big boss as much as a clone of liquid.
i figure seeing he new about the les enfant terrible project for a while, he was arrogant enough to try himself?
but if its not there, its not there. was just somthing that added up in my mind.

Jack was his nickname wasen't it? John was his real name. At least thats what I was always led to believe.

Jack is a sort of alternative to John (which in itself is a shortened version of Johnathan), I think the reason that Major Zero calls Snake Jack is because the two are close friends whereas when it comes to Ocelot he wants to keep it less personal.

I think the fact that Raiden and Naked Snake are both called Jack is just a way of showing that indirectly Raiden has also been influenced be Big Boss (Naked Snake), it's not really anything important as far as I know, and just to confirm, there is no evidence at all that Raiden is biologically linked to Big Boss or any of the clones (although Snake and Liquid are sort of Raiden's uncles since Solidus is his adopted father)

The four snakes idea could refer to the snake that crawls off of The Boss after she has been defeated? or as stated before could refer to the clone snakes and the Green Python.

A lot of this information is stuff you have to piece together by playing all the games, and of course from the Codec conversations.

You guys don't know what John Doe means?

I think raidens name is just a common name that he was given and then later turned into the name Jack the Ripper. I don't think at all that he is cloned or has anything to do with big boss. Just a young guy brought into the Equation

Ah yes, the one that crawls off The Boss. Good call, forgot about that.

Raiden is not a clone.

Solidus killed his parents remember? Clones don't have parents.
