Paramount Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with the new poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,
directed by Steven Spielberg and
starring Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent. The teaser poster for the May 22 release was drawn by the legendary Drew Struzan.

Can't wait for this film. The first 3 are one of the best trilogies out there and speilburg is an amazing director. I disagree with anyone who says Harrison Ford is too old for the part, he is the face of Indi and besides, he doesn't look his age.
Aquila - December 10, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
I liked most of the others. I'd say this will be awesome with special effects and such from nowadays. Shia LaBeouf is also a great actor for his age, a bit overated but all the same a good actor.
JCC - December 10, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Oh goody, Shia LeBouf. I'm glad that they are choosing wonderful actors as opposed to famous ones.
This will most likely mar the legacy of Indiana Jones. Yet capitalism drives these people to such a destruction of the series, because this will inevitably bring the money flowing in like a river of green power.
Fuck Spielberg, fuck Paramount.

Such god damn ignorance.
Spielberg KNOWS what we want. He's not doing this for anyone else. Not even himself. He specifically said that this movie was made for the FANS of the series. And ONLY the fans. Sure Paramount is gonna get loads of cash, but who the fuck cares? Really?
Spielberg made this film
for the fans without any pressure from Paramount, you idiot.
And the special effects in this movie
will be exactly the same as the previous 3.Spielberg stated that there will be no CGI and all the effects are the same effects that could be reproduced in the 80s to keep the feel the same.
Suffice to say, if you liked the first three then its pretty much GOD DAMN impossible to dislike the fourth one... since its going to be JUST LIKE the previous three. Same formula that made us fans in the first god damn place.
So, I don't know what your blabbering about, but since you don't know what the hell your talking about yourself, I suggest you be quiet before I get Al Gore on you.

I mean, its one thing to conform with other haters who hate for no reason, but hating while having no idea of what your hating is just ignorance.
JCC - December 10, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
LeBouf sucks.
Spielberg could've said that he was doing it for the sake of the homeless, doesn't change the fact that money is probably the main factor.
I don't give a shit what the special effects are.
The first three didn't have shitty overrated actors in them.
And I'm not conforming with anyone. I think it's a shitty idea. It doesn't mean that I have enslaved myself to a cult of Indiana Jones haters.
P.S. Fuck you, Mr Ebert. I'm sure that you're shocked and offended by my highly controversial opinion of thinking that the movie will suck, but I don't want to be part of your superiority complex. Get a grip, and don't call people idiots because their opinion isn't yours.
P.P.S Just because your best friend is a television doesn't make you better than anyone else here. You're not the distinguished film critic that you seem to view yourself as.
micster - December 10, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Sure money'll be a factor because they know that even if it was cheaply made then it'd rake money in because of name branding and insurance factors. But with that said we dont know that he isnt lying about him making a fourth for fans of the others, personally I dont see it as a bad idea as younger people have seen the first 3 and would want a new one while there here to enjoy it as part of there generation.
Null - December 10, 2007 11:12 PM (GMT)
Well to be honest iAn, I heard the same soundbite when people were defending lucas carrying on with another Star Wars trilogy, and the only good film we got out of that was the last one.
Helikaon - December 10, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
It all depends on opinion, all the Prequel Trilogy are good films, sure none of them are a touch on the originals, but they are still amazing pieces of film.
He could have come up with a better name for it, I thought Temple of Doom was clutching at straws, but Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?
Null - December 10, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Eh, Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones were god awful in my opinon.
Revenge Of The Sith was WIN though.
OcelotSnake - December 10, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Null's right on the money with the Star Wars comparison; I don't care what anybody says, as an old SW fan, I can safely say those movies were utter shite (III being an improvement but even that was lacking).
It's good to see they're not turning it into a CGI whore but regardless I'm a bit cynical as to how it'll shape up to the trilogy. If there's no Nazi's being slaughterd by the dozen then I won't be sold.

I don't see how you could already have an opinion on a movie that hasn't even finished filming.
And how you already hate the movie while supposedly liking the previous three.
I mean, Spielberg is using the same god damn formula that has worked for him in the previous three.
And I didn't call you an idiot for having a different opinion. I called you an idiot for not having any idea of what your talking about.
Hmm, did I call myself a film critic here?
No?
Gee I wonder why... maybe its because of the fact that I never did call myself a movie critic in the first place.
What I do around here is mostly post information on upcoming movies. Maybe I'll throw in a movie review every once and a while, but usually I just post movie news.
That and I also moderate the tv/movies section.
PS: The comment on my post about special effects where not aimed at you, but to Aquila. Miscommunication on my part.
Oh and Mr. Marx, and its pretty god damn funny that your angry that a group of people are going to get rich because of the movie. I mean, its life. You don't just make a movie for charity. You have to make some damn money out of it.
Everything anyone does is probably done for money.
This is life.
Get used to it or go be a hermit and live in the mountains.

It's pretty simple. I don't think it will work, and I'm apprehensive. There's my opinion on the movie before it's finished filming. Whether that changes, we'll have to see.
I never said that I hated this film, I just dislike the idea of bringing back the films. If this one sucks, the legacy is ruined. And it will most likely suck.
How do you know that he is? Have you seen the filming thus far? I'm entitled to my hesitations, and I will make full use of that right and tell you that I am hesitant about this movie.
How do you know that I don't? It could be, it probably will be, that the movie will be a corporate sell-out to bring in the cash based on name value. You can't KNOW here, you can only guess.
No, you didn't. But you certainly act like you are one, running in and out of threads as if you are God's gift to watching films.
P.S. I'm not a Marxist, thinking that it sucks that this is glaringly an attempt to rake in the cash, and because that usually leads to a shitty film doesn't make me a Marxist.
Roy Campbell - December 11, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
And besides JCC, its spielberg, one of the best directors out there, he is not one to fuck up a film.

micster - December 11, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
I quite liked War of the Worlds ...
JCC - December 11, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but if I didn't like it, then to me, he fucked it up.
micster - December 11, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
I didnt know you did Film Studies and Media Studies as a joint AS level Richard dear q:
JCC - December 11, 2007 09:42 PM (GMT)
I don't need to take it to have an opinion on a film.

:(
OcelotSnake - December 11, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Add Transformers, Men in Black II, Evolution and Jurassic park 3 to that cack as well.
JCC - December 11, 2007 10:11 PM (GMT)
Actually, Transformers was passable by way of the special effects that almost made me ejaculate every time a Transformer walked into view.
I even put up with Shia LeBouf being in it.
OcelotSnake - December 11, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
If by 'special effects' you mean Megan Fox's tit and arse shots then yes. Fuck yes.
JCC - December 11, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
Well, they did certainly have some special effect.
*Raises eyebrow*
Null - December 12, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
A.I. was quite shite aswell.
I always wondered if War Of The Worlds would of ended prematurely if Tom Cruise decided to sneeze accidentally on one of those big fuck off machines.
Discomonkey - December 15, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
