q8snake - December 23, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)
When my psp is checking the udp port it say cannot create game in current environment in mgs po & po+. So whats the solution.

You have to unlock certain ports on your router. I don't know which ones, but you might find the port numbers from a quick Google search. ;)

But I am not pro but why does the port need to be unlocked? How did it get itself locked?

I have the same problem too and I cannot find any way to get it fixed. And btw how do you unlock parts of your router

yeah and BTW I went to the official portable ops website and told me this:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I get this message saying I cannot create games.
This error occurs when communications are partly blocked by either your modem or router. You might be able to fix this problem by manually opening the port on the router device. If you have any questions regarding how to set up port opening on the router device, please refer to your router manual or contact your router's manufacturer. When you contact the manufacturer, make sure to tell them that you need to open the following port.

UDP port: 5730-5739
(You need one of these ports)
When multiple router devices exist on the internet connection that the PSP® is connected to (i.e. connecting a router to a modem with routing functions), it may become difficult to fix this even with port settings.
We highly recommend using only one router device on the internet connection that your PSP® will use to connect to the internet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anybody tell me how to unlock the port on my router and BTW it is "GlobeSurfer II 7.2"

Solid Snake The Great - January 1, 2008 01:18 PM (GMT)
It says in that text that you should refer to your router's manual for help with opening the ports. I have never done this myself, so I wouldn't know how. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself without a set of instructions handy, as you can ruin your router's settings by messing around too much.

On the computer connected to the router, look in the "Current Status" for the default gateway then type in the numbers in the address bar; it may be something like 192.168.1.1 which is what mine is; if your not asked for a password(If a password is needed check the owner's manual or do a reset on it. ) look around for "Port Forwarding" or "DMZ".

Once that is found, on your PSP go to settings > Internet Connections > Your wireless network > test connection, Make note of the IP address and enter it in the DMZ and click submit **OR** in one of the "port forwarding" boxes with port range 5720-5739 in it, type of port: UDP.

If that doesn't work, then your Internet Provider may be blocking ports in which case all you can do is ask them to unblock them.

Do you mean you need a UDP port of 5730 - 5739? Cause mine says the UDP port is 5730 but I cant create a game

rayofdoom - January 4, 2008 05:44 PM (GMT)
you have to open all of them in that range from 5730 to 39, i had this problem with MGO also.

holyclericz - January 8, 2008 09:01 AM (GMT)
Does that mean you have to select UDP port 5730, followed by 5731 and so on?

Negative, you can do port range 5730-5739, private ports: 5730-5739.

lol sorry I tried that and then the thing got worse it said UDP Port check failed error(P518)

holyclericz - January 30, 2008 02:49 AM (GMT)
Okay, I've selected all the UDP ports 5730 - 5739 but mine still can't create game. Is there a limit to how deep you go on the online mode for it to be classified as you selecting the UDP port?
