"Okay, I'll play journalist for now. Me and Meryl were a kind of spark ignited on the battlefield which died on the battlefield, it was......sorry Otacon, I forgot about her, if there was any other way..."
"No Snake. It's ok, I understand now, she shot at you first, and besides, what she did to Meryl was unforgivable. The more I'm with you in battle Snake, the more I realise just how you soldiers work, and I can finally understand what happened with Wolf. Ok, we both took losses in Shadow Moses then."
"Meryl wasn't too much of a loss, we'll meet again in battle one day, I know it. I lost the closest thing I had to a real brother."

"Yeah, I felt so helpless, I couldn't stop Liquid in Rex.......LIQUID!"
"Sit back down Snake! It's ok, there was nothing you could do without killing them both, besides, it's what he wanted don't you remember, he said he could finally die infront of you, you put him at peace Snake, that was the best thing you could have done for him."
"I know he wanted death, but I was the one who killed the real Frank Jaeger in that minefield, he was a ghost when he found me at Shadow Moses, it was that suit and medicine, I could have found a way to bring him back to his own self, dammit!"
"Snake there was nothing you could do, it's history now, just like me and Wolf."
"No, you don't understand this Otacon, I cannot feel he is laid to rest until Liquid is dead, and Liquid still lives!"
"In that arm on Ocelot. Don't worry Snake, we will run into them again, we'll keep hunting, and when we find them, you can fulfill your task."
