Description: best crash 'em up around

Liquidus_Snake - January 20, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
I've always loved Burnout, but i was concerened when they said they were going to make Paradise a free roam game....

however, after playing the demo on the PSN store...i can safely say.....THIS GAME WILL BE AWESOME

i'm defiently getting my hands on a copy when i manage to find a bit cash...anyone else gona get it?

for me it outranks the likes of Need for Speed, Juiced, Motorstorm and any oher extreme racing games out there..

i don't know how my wallets going to last the Spring term

Haha you sound like someone who has only just played it. Amiright? :P

Yeah its awesome. Played it to death, and its really funny if you and a mate have the live cam and play it online.

Roll on Friday!

Solid Snake The Great - January 20, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
It comes out Friday? I'm actually quite looking forward to this game. From what I've seen of it, it's going to be awesome. Personally, I think Burnout is quite an underrated gaming series. I reckon it's up there with NFS, although I think most people prefer NFS because of the vast vehicle customisation options. But for me, they're both pretty equal.

Im gettin it on Friday; Cannot wait to play it. Its just so good from what I saw in the demo

Burnout 3 was awsome, one of the best racing games ever, however its the only one of the series I have liked. There are better racing games out there (GT, Forza etc) but I think I may try out this game.

Yeah well, but the last NFS wasnt that good. So im trading it in for Burnout.

@Roy, but their more simulators, I dont think they can be compared?

I suppose. You could catagorise racing games into 3 different sections - Simulators, Party games (e.g Mario Kart) and then Burnout type games (I can't think of a word to descibe them). Out of those 3 catagories, I would say Simulators are the best followed by Party games and lastly this type of game. Need for Speed, Juiced and motorstorm are all terrible games in my opinion. Whatever floats your boat in the end I suppose.

Won't be getting it, I'm getting bored of the all driving games in general. Just not appealing to me. But then it is one of the best I've played and would make an awesome game (as seen fromt the demo)

Pricey - January 25, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)
Amazing game. Been playing for the past 3 hours. Well worth the wait. :D

micster - January 25, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
Its utterly amazing. Really it is.

Ive yet too play online in the retail version but I played with sad on the demo

Anyone like Showtime? Its kinda growing on me. Managed to get the x10 achievement and took out around 110 vehicles.

Im around 40% complete.

Yackemflaber - January 28, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
I was psyched about getting Burnout 3
Burnout Revenge just seemed like the next step up, and I didn't play it that much.
I've got the demo for Paradise and to me it's just more of the same with a few extra touches. I've got a short attention span with games as it is so I think I'll pass this one up.

Ahh, shame mate.

Im still around 40% complete. Im just going around now trying to find the Billboards etc.

Liquidus_Snake - January 29, 2008 05:27 PM (GMT)
I've just saw the review on Gamespot and it so far seems to be one of the most impressive driving games yet..

Still dieing to get the game...just need to get the cash together..

I'm still slightly confused...so will there be mission esk races in the game for cash that gradually get tougher and make you face harder racers and cars...or is it just a simply pull up to the traffic lights and have a random race for cash?

Pricey - January 29, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
There is no cash. You race for points on your license, the more points you get, the better licence and cars etc you get.

Around 50% done now. So fun! Got all the Billboards.

Edit - Got all Billboards, Jumps and Smashes now!

Now for the 100 odd races. :(

krypton_ls - February 25, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
^ Sad man. :P

I nearly have my Class A license.... about 30% done and over half the boards smashed. :)

Pricey - March 3, 2008 10:56 AM (GMT)
Why is that sad? Ive always been a major fan of burnout, and so, play it like crazy. :P

Yackemflaber - March 28, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
sorry for the bump

but I'm just recently starting to think about buying this game, can anyone tell me if they're still playing it or if they got bored of it already? Because I own Burnout 3 and Revenge and loved them both, but something about this one has me weary

krypton_ls - March 28, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
^ Hehe same. I have B3 and Revenge on the PS2, and owned Legends back in the days when I had a PSP.

I think that all the major Burnout titles are worth buying, so I would definitely get it if you haven't already, Yack.

I played it tons when I first got it, and still try to cram in more sessions - great fun, even if it's just 1P stuff.

Pricey - March 28, 2008 03:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah ive been playing it today. Still amazing. I got about 85 left until my Elite Licence.

Yackemflaber - March 28, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
alright guys, thanks!

Pricey - March 29, 2008 12:57 PM (GMT)
Anyone seen this? Pretty damn cool.

krypton_ls - March 29, 2008 03:12 PM (GMT)
15 from my whatever-comes-after-the-A-license atm. :)

Been doing tons of races today - it's funny to have played with the "tank" van thing for ages doing only marked mans and the takedowns thing, and now to do races in a car that's a million times faster - it took getting used to!

Pricey - March 29, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
Haha yeah, its amazing how you can tell the speed difference.

Im on 70 left until Elite. Been doing the Burning Routes today.

Got about 40 left now! :D
