liquid's acsent was better in the playstaion version?

i love the way liquid looks but i miss the orginal acsent

Metalmalitia23 - January 31, 2008 04:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah the redid all the voices for the game, i dont know why though the original voice acting was better i think.

I personally dont like how the game looks though, it looks too...cell shaded and just doesnt seem to fit the rest of the franchise, not a terrible game though, could be better.

solidfox - February 4, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
All the voices were better in the orginal IMO. They didn't put as much effort or emotion into Twin Snakes.

Also, I was pissed that they changed Gray Fox's voice actor.

Darth Big Boss - February 7, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
Aug, all the original voice actors returned in Twin Snakes, but somehow, each and everyone of them had a horrible performances, even Jennifer Hale (Naomi). The only exception was Debbie Mae, who did Meryl.

snakeinthegear - February 22, 2008 04:35 PM (GMT)
Its understandable though. Having to repeat lines you did for a game years before simply won't sound the same.

You're right. They should have sounded better, they already knew their lines. And if they would have done their research on how successful MGS was because of the story and their performances, they would have dedicated themselves to do a job at least as good as their first go-around.

Personally, I found nothing wrong with Hayter or Cam Clarke, they were right on. As for the others, the only ones I really had an issue with was Mei Ling and Miller- but even then it wasn't that bad. Still a good performance.

Helikaon - February 23, 2008 01:57 PM (GMT)
I'm going with God on this one, I had no problems with the majority of the voice acting.

I actually prefer Gray Fox and Naomi in The Twin Snakes.

I love this game. I think the voice acting is, if not better, than just as immersing as the original. Its awesome.

Yup, his voice was much better in the PSX version.

Vapour Snake - March 3, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
I liked Liquid Snake's original voice also, I certainly prefer it to his voice in The Twin Snakes.

In my opinion the original voice acting was far superior the that of the voice acting in The Twin Snakes, except for Gray Fox's voice.

i prefered the one in TTS than the original va for grayfox, the one in the orginal just didn't suit him imo

Sorry to say this Gamecube fans but admit it the Playstation version is way better than the Gamecube version. I'll tell you why.
Liquid who we all love have lost his accent, and Naomi is no longer British
And the whole thing just gets messed up.
So there you have it Gamecube fans. MGS suck on Gamecube.
But rocks on Playstation.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But relax you still have some games good on Gamecube.................................like Spider-man2

It's the exact same game, but in better graphics.

Not even the level design changed, the only complaints about TTS that I have ever read and heard about have been "Snake shouldn't be jumping/flipping", "The voice acting is worse" and other story elements, I've never once read a complaint about the actual game play of The Twin Snakes.

In fact I prefer the game play in TTS.

I also prefer most of the redone cut-scenes and voice acting.

No he hasn't

I hear no difference between that accent and the one heard in Sons of Liberty and the original.

Gatso - March 5, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
Ive never played TTS myself but it looks awesome and i have seen a few videos...
And yes i agree... The voice acting is terrible..

The original voice acting in MGS1 was fantastic.. i loved it... And james flinders/Cam Clark had an excellent villan voice.. that good he was voted best villan a few years ago on IGN... and i think hes still holding the title.. a sexy sexy voice  -_-

Darkodin - March 5, 2008 08:06 PM (GMT)
I have but a few things against TTS. It was easier than the orginal game. And it was too hollywood, jumping off missles and weird shit. I mean all the Ninja parts are fucking sweet but that's it.

Other than that all the effects were great. :thumb:

+1 with helikons post

TTS is a fantastic game and i dont see the whole fuss in the remake.TTS to me feels right at home in my MGS collection.

snakeinthegear - March 10, 2008 07:52 PM (GMT)
I peroanlly prefer twin snakes, simply because it has better visual appeal and it's game play has been updated, thus making it a more tolerable game by today's standards.

I'd prefer it if snake didn't do the OTT gymnastic stuff but I chalk it down to him being younger and in better shape but other than that, it's as perfect as the original. The accents aren't a big deal, they more or less sound the same to me and the whole hollywoodizing of the game is kind of the point...as it is with all the MGS games.

theodoreology - March 13, 2008 06:28 AM (GMT)
I saw a Gamecube at Gamestop for $30. It's worth getting (to me) just to be able to play "Twin Snakes". Once I have it I'll get a couple GC games like FZero and Zelda, plus I'll keep the GC even when I get a Wii for the Gamecube GBA Player. I really hope the GBA Player works with the DS, but I don't think so.

"Portable Ops" did the same thing to me - it was what pushed me over the line to get a PSP, but now that I have it I able to get other games I wouldn't have bought the PSP just to have.

When I play through "Twin Snakes", I'll be prepared for the PSX version to be better, meaning my standards will be lower, so it won't be very hard for me to enjoy it... I can still see it being a game I only play once, though.

I'm not gonna play it until after the Essentials Collection comes out (18 MAR 2008); after I get that I'm gonna play through ALL the games again in order like a lot of people, from MSX to PSX to PS2 to PSP.

I know this post only offers info about what I want to do, no real new info, but I couldn't help myself!

Grey Snake - March 14, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
i think they made twin snakes easier, even on hard and extream its easy, i remeber having nothing to start out with and had to find my own weapons!!!!

Isn't this #17 on the 'Top 100 reasons why we fucking hate 'Twin Snakes.'?

Ripsta - March 26, 2008 10:24 AM (GMT)
I think the only reason people like the original better is because of the nostalgia involved with it. The original has aged pretty bad in the gameplay department, graphics are bearable though.
Theres very few downsides to twin snakes, most scenes are actually a lot better besides the crazy matrix crap. Some of the voices actually fit the characters better, yet ppl dont like them because its not like they remember. Very few of the voice actors were actually replaced. The game is also easier due to being able to use first person view and hangin of ledges and hiding in lockers.
Sure its fun to revisit the old Metal Gear Solid but if you are playing it for the first time just go ahead and play Twin Snakes, people are just nitpicking at it and its not as bad as they make it seem. Twin Snakes is superior in almost every way, and yes I have both and beat both of them.

MGS is a much better game than TS. Graphics and gameplay can not compete with tone. MGS had the greatest tone of any MGS game, and TS did not continue that tone. It tried to be it's own game rather than a remake. It pales in comparison to the original.

Do u think that those who have played TTS first and then the original would agree with you on that.
I just recently played the original again and realized that I just loved it at that time because there was nothing like it. I guess the overall presentation is a bit better because it leaves you thinking that the game is so great even 10 years later until you actually revisit it. TTS on the other hand just feels like a remake. I bet if TTS didnt have those over the top cutscenes a lot of ppl would prefer it.

Metalmalitia23 - March 26, 2008 04:46 PM (GMT)
I agree with Wilson, MGS1 did have a better tone/feeling/style whatever you want to call it. And although the graphics may be better in TTS. The grainy dark look of the original is oh so better. Plus its not like the graphics are anything like MGS2. They have there own feel to it, a feel that i dont associate with MGS.

And MGS1 is STILL my favorite game of all time to this date. I just beat it the other day infact. I went to play TTS a few weeks ago and i just couldnt play it. I was playing on friggin extreme and it was just too easy. I hate the controls too, you have to press like every button and then some to run and shoot.

You mean A+B?

MGS. - April 1, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
Remaking of the voice acting in the game (not all of it). Many lines added since Hideo Kojima and the CG movie director wanted to give a little more action aspect to the cutscenes.

TOKUGAWA HEAVY INDUSTRIES - April 26, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
Liquid sounds fine to me in Twin Snakes, but whenever I hear Fox I can only think of Major Glory. It kind of kills the mood of the last scene with him.

Because it doesn't work for the updated graphics and direction.

Especially with Raven and Fox. Rob Paulsen was an excellent choice. The original guy just wouldn't work with it. The fact that you can actually see the lips moving changes a lot. Try adding Liquid's original voice with a new TS cutscene. Just doesn't feel right.

Nothing's wrong with the Gamecube, let alone Twin Snakes. And Spiderman 2 is not an example of a good game for Gamecube. I mean, Wave Race at the time was so much fun and the graphics rocked! As well as Super Smash Bros. Melee and Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Mario Kart among others.

Naked_Snake123 - May 7, 2008 11:49 AM (GMT)
MGS and TTS... both are really good, but i kinda miss the voice action of mei ling and naomi. but to be honest, mei ling has a much more comfortable voice in TTS. but i really wanted to hear naomis original voice in TTS. as for the voice acting in general, i feel that the voice acting is just a bit faster and rushed than TTS, so to be honest, i actually prefer TTS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjSVGixNlJQ check it out. voice acting is rushed. kinda kills the mood, and i really dont like the voice of david hayter.. it feels kinda... odd..

Onewaystreet - May 10, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
I just bought a Gamecube at Gamestop.com for $30 and I bought Twin Snakes for (most likely overpriced) $39.99 at Amazon.com. I should be getting them soon.

I've always wanted to play TTS but have had no urge to by a Gamecube for one game...until now I suppose. When I get it I will give more of my input.

The voice acting sounds fine from the videos I have seen. But some of the cutscenes and codec conversations are ridiculously dramatized. Not necessarly a bad thing, just different. And why is it night at the ending scene when Liquid dies of FOXDIE? That's weird.

SolidSnake09 - May 12, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
I haven't played the original but have played TTS and i think the voice acting is pretty good. And from the video's i've watched of the original i think the original has better voice acting than the remake of it though i like TTS better but the original will alway's have better voicing to it in TTS there's not enough emotion from some character's it's almost plain. But in the original it sound's more better alot of dedacation put into the voice acting but TTS has almost the same Solid Snake dialouge which is pretty good. And i think TTS win's for cut scene's and animation but only because it came after the original and there was better gfx on the Gamecube.

Wilson - May 12, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
TTS cutscenes were worse. Completely and utterly ridiculous, decreasing from the feel and mood of the game.

SolidSnake09 - May 12, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
True but at the same time i think that it show's more better of what's going on.But there are some cutscene's from the original i wish they'd have keep't in there instead of styling them different.
