Chopping people in half.

Taunting people when you get a super move....then clicking the right button the cleave their arms and legs from their torso with a stream of blood going over the ground.

Epic boss battles with twists and turns and the freakin' bizare.

An anime enthusiast hero who knows wrestling moves as well as own a cat that you can play with inbetween missions.

The perfected version of a Wii light saber engine as well as an 8 bit era with alittle 3d menu system and check points

This is like pulp fiction, anime, punk, video games, and everything about pop culture today mixed in with alittle crak.

Oh yeah....and get this.

Toilet Save points

There is also alittle innovative secret with the Wii speaker that I won't spoil.

GET THIS GAME!

Go from this page on up to see vids of the Game.

Don't worry the first trailer voice actors were replaced with much much better voice actors.

It just recently came out I believe. It has a top notch soundtrack with a mix of rock and 8 bit music.

Let me get the first trailer up there and I'll add some links as necessary to my first post.

Edit: Forgot to mention it is made by the same guy who was behind Killer 7.

Update Update Update.
I'm about 1/3rd of the way through the game and I am still having fun.

While the overworld is a bit of a let down at certain points but overall I found it as a nice extra.

I mean you know your hero is a bad ass when you can not only cut grass with expertise but ass as well.

And some of the bike stunts are pretty fun as well....power slideing and such meh.

The only thing about it is the cars and people or more like scenery, but I think that is the point of this game. Travis is the head honcho of the game and we should only focus in on him. Who cares about a deep storyline when all this game is, is a parady on society today.

I do hate the invisible barriers around cars though......

No More Heroes is one of the best games I've played in years. It's great sense of humor combined with excellent story filled to the brim with extremely original and crazy Assassins combined with perfectly cheesy yet awesome melodramatic story line make this game crazy as hell.

I'll say though, I really found Travis to be a boring character and he seemed even more boring when compared to the likes of Dr.Peace or Bad Girl. I know he's just supposed to be your stereotypical hero(if you can call him that), but often at times I kind of wish he'd disappear so I could get more time to get to know the other Assassins.

And while I loved the game's soundtrack, it's outside world is very boring. Especially considering the things they could've done with it given the No More Heroes universe. Instead of just making it the standard "Do random chores and then kill no name cronies until you have money", they could've done so many other things. Perhaps missions where you had to defend your rank against other aspiring Assassins(which I guess wouldn't work considering the whole twist with Sylivia) , but I mean Santa Destroy is a crazy place. I find it hard to believe that the High School Students and Baseball players are murderous, while outside of your missions the people are prosperous and don't do anything. Why not make the outside world as crazy as the missions? Make it so Travis has to elude psychopaths who are chasing him while he's trying to do all of his tasks, they could've done a lot more in the outside world, but instead they just used it as a HUB, and it almost kills the game when you're eager to make your way to the next assassin but are stuck cutting grass.

Overall it's an extremely enjoyable game, and I'm looking forward to a sequel, which the studio has expressed much interest in making, but is currently waiting for a greenlight from it's execs.

Don't worry I'm thinking that this game was rushed a little.

The sequel is a no brainer as this is probably the best selling third party wii title out there. I'm sure the Hub will be much much better in the next one as well.
But this was meant to be put out there to prove Wii can do good games, and especially Mature games.

No more Heroes is like my Metal Gear. The game that opens up the doors.

I can't help but see Suda51 and Kojima doing something one day as they are both visionary video game masters.

Actually it's not really doing so hot. I'm pretty sure it only sold like 24,000 copies in the US during it's second week of sales. And it's supposed to be doing way better in America then it is in Japan surprisingly.

However that's to be expected, it's an extremely violent and wacky game. I mean when I first heard about the game's plot two months ago I was convinced the game would suck, however it's made by the same folks who made Killer 7, so I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. Suda 51 doesn't want to make mainstream mega popular games, they want to make different games that stand out on their own without being subjective to the cliches you can always find in a lot of popular games of its type.

I'm sure it will turn around.

I'm surprised Thompson isn't shitting a brick.

Gatsby - February 11, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
Thomson doesn't care about violent games. Thomson cares about popular violent games. That's why you'll see him go after GTA more then Manhunt 2.

He actually defended the game Mass Effect recently because Fox was making false claims about it, and he went on record to disprove what Fox was saying. So while I don't agree with his crusade, I respect him. I mean he did lose a kid to school shootings, he's not the raving lunatic satanist who people make him out to be.

And I doubt the sales will get much higer, it's not a game with widespread appeal. However I think it's sequel would do better, after people have had time for the game's greatness to spread by word of mouth, and or to let all the acclaim the game has received settle in.

Plus, it'd be cool if Suda 51 actually runs ads this time around.
