Title: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
dJdC - February 11, 2008 02:10 AM (GMT)
Been playing this game like crazy. Anyone else play it? Only wish it had online
sadistic_greyfox - February 11, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
I play it a bit but really just to mess around;I spend Hours just dicking around. I like to walk into a town go in someone's house jump o ntop their food and throw it at their face. Afterwards I punch them in the face then strip naked and run the streets of the city from the guards and the people I pissed off :P. It's like GTA but alot more magical, but yeah I really have to start up the missions.

I played it about a year ago. The moment I was able to free roam I went out and powered myself up...then I guess you can say I 'broke' the game because I got 100% cameleon(sp), endless money, and so on...so there was no way I could die or even be seen. So I never even finished it because...well I had already done everything other then finish the main plot.

Oh man I'm still playing that game a lot a year later. I beat the main campaign and shivering isles campaign and have full daedric and glass armor. Right now i'm trying to get the new shivering isles armor. Game is amazing.

I just can't get into this game. I still only have about 4 hours into it. I just can't force myself to play it. It makes me fall asleep while I'm playing. I got it for xbox. My gamerscore is 70 out of 1250.
Shyne-Bryght - February 11, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
Got it, love it.
First time playing it I had 89 hours play time, now I'm on my second turn :D
One thing that annoys me is the Oblivion gates, I know they are a main part of the plot, but when I'm doing side missions and pass one and the sky turns red, just gotta try and aviod it or go in it really. Thats why on my 2nd time on it I am about 80% through the Thieve's Guild and 70% through the Dark Brotherhood cause they're the best two, done all that before the Kvatch incident so no annoying O Gates :P
I don't have the Shivering Isles, been considering downloading it from Xbox Live, is it any good, worth getting?
Yackemflaber - February 11, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
I've got two characters and neither of them are above level 9 or so
but yeah I love that game, there's so much to it

ya shivering isles is really sweet. theres only two new armor sets but they are really cool and you need to find matierals to make them and the story is really interestings. Only thing is there isn't that many side quests in shivering isles,

I heard Oblivion wasn't a good game on the Ps3 am i wrong?
sadistic_greyfox - February 12, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Your DEFINITELY Wrong man, where did you heard that from? This is one of teh hoghest rated games on teh PS3.
solidfox - February 12, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
its good, graphics just aren't as smooth, and the expansion took forever to come out.
Gatsby - February 12, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)
I've always wanted to try Oblivion, the problem is that I absolutely hated The Elder Scrolls 3:Morrowind. I just never liked the main quest, and everything else that there was to do didn't interest me, but I hear a lot of Morrowind's nastiest issues were resolved in Oblivion, so I dunno.

I heard it from my friend who says that the 360 version is better. I see Oblivion in some stores for like $30 and the special edition is like $60. What is the difference?
solidfox - February 12, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
Just as I said above, the graphics aren't as great and the expansion didn't come out until recently. That is why there is a difference in price. The new one has the expansion with it as well.

I never played the cause my PC sucked, but know I have a new one :)
What are the Minimum system requirements for the game?
Shyne-Bryght - February 12, 2008 11:07 AM (GMT)
The spec won't be too high, the games about 2-3 years old, what are your PC specs I should be able to tell you if you can run it?
King Snake - February 12, 2008 11:24 AM (GMT)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT.
On what details can I play it?
Liquidus_Snake - February 12, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
Yeah I know where your coming from mate, It's one of the best games around...completly amazing..
This was the first Elder Scrolls game I've bought....and really the first RPG levelling up game i bought (not really into RPGish kind of games) but i just fell in love with this game, I would recommend anyone who never tried this kind of thing before to go for it, really a winner this game..
I've completed the main quest, all the Guild quests and most of the side quests with my first charcter....I've just started again with a second charcter (High Elf) as my last charcter has almost zero Magic ability....so I'm planning on making this maxed out on magic instead of combat skillz......totally awesome the variety in the game...

I loved this when I had it, I spent endless hours on my PS3 playing this.
I had three characters, my "main" guy was a male Argonian, I concentrated on magic with him, followed the Mages Guild quest all the way through and used him to beat the Oblivion main quest, magic ability really helps when it comes to the Oblivion Gates.
My second was a female Bosmer, I went full out ranged combat for her and did the Thieves Guild and Assassins Guild and was the one I used the most. It was pretty fun using the natural speed and archery stuff to go hunting, I hunted everything I could, those stupid wolves in the high lands and deer.
My third was a male Nord who I went full out hand to hand, I did the Arena and Fighters Guild with him and it was pretty cool. I managed to get a full plate of Dwarven armor and a really cool daedric longsword.

I got to have a record for playing this 500+ hours. Think I've done everything that can be done. Love just walking around aswell, truly never gets too boring.
dJdC - February 25, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
Got pretty far in the game today. Only to have to back track a while because I became a vampire. Not because I wanted to just fell asleep and one bit me I guess. The mission to find the cure will take me days to complete so I'm just starting over. When someone offers you to become a vampire say HELL NO! Theres nothing cool about it.
Helikaon - February 25, 2008 08:57 AM (GMT)
I don't know, if you have to do the Mehrunes Razor sidequest then being a vampire helps a lot.
