Well I just got back from Video Games Live in Toronto...and I think its safe to say it was amazing. I completely recommend it to anyone. (trust me you will not regret it)
I was on the center balcony, so I could look over eveything, and the screen was at eye level -pretty sweet if I don't say so myself.
So...it started off with some poetry...(which I'm glad I didn't get) and then a funny video played where someone dressed as pacman runs from three ghost creatures or whatnot throughout a city. You can check it out here:

Their first big piece was the Metal Gear Solid theme (which kojima introduced) with clips from all four games on the screen. (this was my favorite piece of them all):

Then later a Final Fantasy one. And at the end he did an amazing rendition of the mario star power theme at an unbelievable pace. Here he is:

Other pieces included:
God of War: excellent solo vocalist at one part:

Halo: a huge tribute, as they played like 3 songs and then a guy in a master chief suit ran out with a flag at the end..(oh and the composer for halo was there)
Finally, after they "finished" people kept on clapping so they did an encore performance...
