Title: Terminator T.V show
solidfox - February 12, 2008 09:38 AM (GMT)
So who's watching? Saw Pricey's sig and avatar so I figured at least one person watches the show. I'll admit, the first two episodes didn't do much for me.
But tonights episode blew me away. I think it was better then the 3rd film all together. Next weeks show looks great as well. Finally I'll start to give this show a chance...but there is no way it could ever top T2.
Pricey - February 12, 2008 09:48 AM (GMT)
Was that Episode 5 you speak of? Im gonna watch it tonight. The show is really amazing. You should watch 3 and 4 then. :P
solidfox - February 12, 2008 09:54 AM (GMT)
Yeah I think it was 5. Damn, I can't speak of it yet then if you haven't seen it. But if you are a fan of the movies and all, I'm sure you'll like this one. :thumb:
Pricey - February 12, 2008 09:57 AM (GMT)
Haha im sure I will, been amazing so far.
Well, if you have anything, just use the Spoiler Tags.
The Passion - February 12, 2008 10:33 AM (GMT)
Its pretty good plenty of action just the way I like it. Still it dosent really make sense.
They sent a worse model of the terminator than the one they used in T2 (if you ask me a liquid steel terminator could own that guy) to send after John.
Dont get me wrong i still like it though :D
solidfox - February 12, 2008 10:47 AM (GMT)
The ones sent back in the movies were because the humans captured and reprogramed them. I doubt they could capture and or reprogram the one from T2. His model escapes my mind atm...
The Passion - February 12, 2008 11:10 AM (GMT)
 well that explains a lot still a liquid steel guy would be awesome.
Pricey - February 12, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Just watched Episode 5. Great stuff. Cant wait till next week.

Schwarzenegger in T2= T-800
The liquid metal one in T2= T-1000

This was a pleasant surprise to be fair, it could have gone very badly but it's a better sequel than that turd Rise of the Machines, hopefully FOX will use this continuity rather than T3 for the new trilogy.
Lena is doing a superb job as Sarah, John isn't an insufferable turd and the female Terminator is pretty believable.
Cromartie is goddamn scary when he doesn't have his skin
I'll have to hunt down E5 later, I've only seen up to 4.
Pricey - February 13, 2008 12:05 AM (GMT)
Episode 1 spoiler:
I was shocked when Cameron said "Come with me if you want to live" I just shouted at the screen NO WAY! Haha, was awesome.
Snake Liquid - February 13, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
This is a great show. I've been watching it and have really gotten interested. Cameron is a great Terminator. She tries to be as human as she can, but still doesn't quite fit.
Also, yesterdays episode was interesting. Nice turn of events.
solidfox - February 13, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah,
I like the whole Reese thing. His reaction when he saw Cameron makes me wonder though. Now questions are dancing on who she is and all. She never answers what model she is, but she just says that others 'know' her. The other model would answer John's question about it. She wont. Was she based after somebody he knows. Heh, his own daughter perhaps...? Far fetched, but it seems like next weeks episode will answer some questions about her. Most likely she killed somebody close to the family and then she was captured and reprogramed.
Pricey - February 14, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
Hey, you never know, but will be great to find out.
I wonder if there will be a series 2? Theres only 12 episodes of this, but on the imdb, their not filming it.
doubleo sigint - February 14, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
What exactly is the timeline for this show?
SYN - February 14, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
It follows Terminator 1 and 2, it would be like 4-5 years after T2, johns meant to be about 18ish.
It is a great series I think, the last episode really, really, REALLY made me love it. So much better than T3 its not even funny, too bad they didnt have the money for this like they did for T3 lol.
I really cant see this getting canceled for atleast 3 seasons. They have the first set filmed, with the strike over, there is no point in Fox cutting this off now when this show kept them alive during that stupid strike. Plus, its excellent promotion for T4 (I know its different timelines blah blah, but to the common fan who doenst pay attention to shit like that sees a new terminator series on TV and will become interested again)
jonhou - February 14, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
T2 was in 1997 right? In one of the first scenes John says that was 2 years ago so it would have to be 1999, until the second episode.
Helikaon - February 14, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
It starts a few years after T2, But then the three of them (Sarah, John and Cameron) jump into the future, the show is now set in 2007.
SYN - February 14, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
good work Heli, forgot how far they time traveled, so i said a few years lol.

Ok thats all well and good but who the hell is Cameron? I thought you guys were taking about James Cameron, but nooo.
solidfox - February 15, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
The female terminator. One of the main characters.
Helikaon - February 15, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
The Terminator assigned to protect John, disguised as a female the same age as John.

There still using that played out "Terminator comes to kill John another weaker one comes to protect him" shit, it's almost like you can't have a Terminator movie if thats not the main story lol. Nevertheless i'll still like to check it out since you guys like it so much, any chance of it being on youtube?
solidfox - February 15, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
The one that is protecting him is very strong. She just won't tell what model and all she is. But she is very powerfull. Cleary a newer model then the others.

Well at least they changed something but this being a series, no doubt a stronger Terminator will come.
SYN - February 15, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
Shes the terminator sent back to protect John, and perhaps to make sure he becomes the leader they need him to be (it kinda hints around to this,
Cameron mentions this to Sarah more than once).
The storyline is starting to have us question a few actions by Cameron and makes us wonder about her motives. Also they havent mentioned what model she is - she states that she is different. So it must be a newer model perhaps one that is selfaware (like Skynet was)

You can't. Nothing else works in a "present day" Terminator film.
jonhou - February 15, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
One thing a don't understand about Cameron is: the first part of the first episode she's smiling laughing etc. but when John finds out she's a Terminator she has a stone face and never smiles. What's up with that?!?
Helikaon - February 15, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
I don't think they've explained it yet, but I'd say it's because she was only programmed to fool John (which by extension means everyone else) but after she is revealed theres no need to "blend in".

I disagree... I bet something different could have been thought up. But unfortunatley, they're sticking with the stock formula.
solidfox - February 19, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
So what did you guys think of tonights episode? I didn't get to watch it fully, was doing this and that and only saw this and that....but I must say, I no longer trust anybody lol. Which I guess is a good thing for the plot.

I know what you're saying. I don't really know who to trust anymore, well exept John and Sarah.
I must say that this show really is much better than I could ever imagine. I thought: "A Terminator TV series. You have got to be kiddin' me. It's going to be ridiculous."
But it's actually rather good.
solidfox - February 26, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
One more episode left. It'll be an hour long special. Last nights episode was pretty good, brought back an ol character...the only character to be in all three movies other then Arnold...but the guy that protrayed him...well he looked younger then the guy that was in the movies! lol. Played by the guy that did Senetor Kelly from X-Men.
Overall though, twas a good episode. Didn't see the preview for the season finally, but I'm looking forward to it!
Pricey - February 27, 2008 12:47 AM (GMT)
Are you sure? I mean, on the imdb, it says theres 12 episodes:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851851/Surely there cant be one left?
And yeah, I watched it tonight, was a good episode. And like you, I noticed straight away that he was in the other movies and from x-men, haha.
Snake Liquid - February 27, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
It was a pretty good episode. It wasn't as good as last weeks where we got to see a look at the future. That was awesome. It was very interesting. The ending, I thought, was really good where Kyle's brother was watching Cameron dancing, and when Cameron was eating in front of him.
I think they will probably just have the show off for a little while and then pick it up after spring break or something. Some shows have a mid-season finale, so maybe that is what this show is doing.
Helikaon - February 27, 2008 01:08 AM (GMT)
Apparently it was messed up by the writers strike and only managed to get 9 episodes filmed.
I'm guessing the success will convince FOX to commission a full season.
Pricey - February 28, 2008 08:56 AM (GMT)
So your saying that there might be 2 episodes left? For now...
solidfox - February 28, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
Two more, yes, but only one more day. They are putting those two together for the season finally. So last week will be the last.
Pricey - March 1, 2008 12:33 PM (GMT)
Ahhh right, should be great. Cant wait.
solidfox - March 3, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
Tonight is the finally! Who's ready???? I can't wait. I wasn't able to see the preview for this weeks show, cause I watched it on Fox.com last time. So I guess everything will be a suprise to me today. Hope it is good. This kinda determines weather or not they bring it back for another season.
