How great is this game? I finally got it the other day and just started it tonight and have been on it for around 2 hours. Amazing stuff. Have you played it? What did you think? Any spoilers, stick to tags please.

I watched my brother play some of this on his 360. It looks like a great game, and he really liked it. It's got a great story and good gameplay. I'll have to play it myself to know for sure. It's really long too.

BioShock is definitely a hell of a game. Personally, I consider it the best game thus far on the 360.
The storyline's very deep. You're going to want to pay close attention to all the little details, all of the audio diaries and such. In fact, even the little note on the gift you were holding at the beginning of the game while you were in the plane means more than you would initially expect, that is if you were able to read it.
As the game goes on you'll see how deep it really gets.
As for the gameplay, it gets better and better as the game goes on. You get several weapons, most of which you can upgrade atleast twice (which you've probably found out already), and the upgrades do make a huge difference. Also, the plasmids are insane. There's like 50-60 plasmids all together. The more you get, the more strategies you have to kill splicers and Big Daddies with.
There's also 3-4 boss battles that I'm sure you'll enjoy. I know I did.
Another thing: I hope you're playing on the hardest difficulty, because the only people I've ever heard really complain about the games are people who thought it was too easy, and of course, if you play it on the easiest difficult that's what it's going to be. Honestly, I've beat it on Easy and Novice, but I die repeatedly on Hard, lol.
To sum it all up, it's a great game. It's definitely worth the money. The gameplay is great, but the storyline may be even better. Of course, whether you harvest or rescue the Little Sisters the ending is different, so you'll probably want to beat it atleast twice. I found both endings to be quite rewarding.
Hope you enjoy!

It's awesomely awesome with a small aftertaste of awesome.
Also, if you like this game be sure to get System Shock 1 and 2. Made by Ken Levine as well and while SS1 is a bit outdated SS2 have aged extremely well and it's one of the first games I reinstall when formating the computer.

Question: So whats the rough length of the game, hours, on easy?

Took me ten hours first runthrough but then I took it slow to make sure I didn't miss anything.

i beat it on easy in about 8.5 hours but it is a very awesome game. most of the game magizines i've seen gave it their Game of the Year award. Between Mr Ryan, the insaine plasmids(if you want my perfered list PM me) and of couse the deep gameplay.
if there's a Bioshock 2 does anyone think Ryan will return? i mean couldn't he have been revived in a vita-chamber since he had the genetic key to Rapture?
edit: only read the above spoiler if you have beat the game or don't mind the penultimate ending spoiled ^_^

I have no idea how long it took me, but I did play it through twice.
Also, it's worth trying to beat on Hard. I've yet to be able to do it, not that I've tried too hard, but it definitely makes you change up your strategy a bit.
