Ok, for me, MGS1 is the best game of all time. Hands down. But it's biggest flaw is that song. I can't stand... and it's almost everywhere in the game.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about this song is heard when...

1. Snake first swims into the docks.
2. Meryl's codec conversation, she explains why she couldn't pull the trigger right away.
3. Meryl's conversation in the bathroom, she explains why she wanted to be a soldier.
4. Flashback of when Meryl is shot
5. 2nd part of Sniper Wolf's death scene.
6. Naomi's revelation - when she calls you to explain Gray Fox and Fox Die.
7. Meryl's death (alt ending)
8. End Credits.

Am I the only one that puts the sound on mute and reads the subtitles when this annoying song comes on? It's not just the song, it's that it's on so often and it's one of those songs that tells you 'here comes a sob story, fell sorry for this person.'

I also really like that song. Kind of a native american nature song.

It's a great song, and reflects upon native Alaskan culture. Definitely one of my favourites.

Likewise to all replys plus that song is awsome for anything. Me and some friends have been in the process of making a movie called Valhalla for the past like 3 years and mixed 'The best is yet to come' with 'Counting Bodies Like Sheep' by a Perfect Circle for a trailor and the result was excellent. I'll post the trailor up sometime.

I like practicing my tai chi to this song as well. Well...starting off as Tai chi when it is slow then speed it up as the song picks up.

It's the perfect come down after the chaos you just went through, it's what I imagine Snake to listen to between the time he kills terrorists.

Ok, now that we've established that almost everybody likes it. Who agrees that it added even MORE epicness into the game. While I LOVED the game (I always finish with Meryl's death. And after the first time playing it...hearing Snake say, "I'll find it...I know I'll find it." then that song comes up...

THAT is what made the game for me. That freaking song, to wrap everything up, is truly what made me whisper aloud to myself..."that was the best game ever."

If you had stated dislike towards the ending credit song for MGS2, I could definately see how you would feel that way, but "The Best Is Yet To Come" is in my opinion, the greatest MGS song that they've had, period.

I hate to disagree, but I do.

I thought it was the third best song in the entire series. (Second being Fortune's theme and Carla White's Can't Say Goodbye and Natasha Farrow's Calling to the Night tying at first)

But I half-agree, they played it too much. But then again, the soundtrack didn't have a lot of 'dramatic scene' tracks so who ever the sound guy was had his choices limited.

To me, the best MGS theme of all has to be original track by Norihiko Hibino and the Harry Gregson-Williams' orchestrated version of it. Simply irresistible. :wub: I can't wait for the MGS4 version. I have a feeling it's going to be most epic of all!

I still love The Best is Yet to Come. It's one of my favorites. :D

That song is amazing. I was disappointed at it's lack of presence in Twin Snakes. It's absence degraded the game.

Although I dislike 'Can't say goodbye to yesterday' just as much as 'Best yet to come.' At least 'Yesterday' track isn't in the game every two minutes.

I think that this song is the best from any other "credit song" in the MGS series!
Its in the spirit and sort of the character of Snake.
It fits really well. One of my bests. If not the best...
