Ahh I like Wolverine. I think this might be a good movie.

WHiTeFaLCoN - February 14, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)
A solo Wolverine adventure? Good! Just like the comics.

Helikaon - February 14, 2008 02:44 PM (GMT)
Should be good, especially if they don't feth around with the origins of Wolverine.

skywalker - February 14, 2008 04:44 PM (GMT)
Man, he is ripped. Im guessing so, but is this a prequil to x-men movies?

La Li Lu Le Lo - February 14, 2008 05:09 PM (GMT)
Awesome..can't wait. This is a prequel to the X-Men movies, yet Wolverine is older. It would have been pretty funny if they waited even longer.

snakeinthegear - February 14, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
I'm a huge x-men fan and I really hate what they did to most of the characters, especially cyclops who is supposed to be the leader. Anyway, this movie is supposed to have cameo apearances of various other mutants and quite a few from the x-men movies. Also, sabretooth who was horrendously wasted in x-men 1 will be the main villain

Ahhh theres our future Solid Snake, this movie will be cool. Sabertooth the main baddy? i hope they got someone cooler to play him or is it the same deadbeat guy?

skywalker - February 14, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
They may have messed up some of the charicters in the movies but I will say one thing, I always thought in the comics cyclops was a douche bag and they got that one dead on in the movies.

xeros666 - February 14, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT THIS MOVIE!! HOOK THE DETAILS TO MY VEINS!

he is the coolest x-men character along with gambit! i wish he was in the movies too!

I second that

Sorry but aside from SPIDERMAN 1&2 and BLADE 1&2 (which are pre MARVEL movie craze era) MARVEL has been suckin with their movies. IRON MAN Looks incredible but I'll probably wait to rent it just cuz They've led me down that path too many times already i.e. Punisher, Ghost Rider, Hulk, Daredevil. The XMEN movies are only slighty better then the other films but not by much. I know this Wolverine movie is gonna be a box office smash but I'll be surprised if it turns out to actually be a quality film.

That being said I'm never 100% skeptical. I hope I'm wrong and it does kick ass.

Helikaon - February 15, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Cyclops has always been a bellend, but thats his job, he's there to lead not to make friends.

Unfortunately he always comes across as a bit of a cock, so he is one of the least popular characters in Marvel, let alone just X-Men.

rayofdoom - February 15, 2008 01:07 AM (GMT)
hmm, this should be interesting. its funny how Hugh Jackman through himself in the main role.

a little TRIVIA for you:
the original plan was to have another actor portray Logan/Wolverine in this movie with Hugh Jackman as producer. somewhere along the line that has changed i do not know why? perhaps they couldn't find another actor good enough for the role? or maybe Jackman through a hissy fit.

Helikaon - February 15, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
They changed the plot, when it was first announced they said it was going to follow Wolvie before he got the metal claws, way back when he was just James Howlett. In other words they were just going to make Origins. But they decided to take the easy way out and do the Weapon X plot line, when James (now known as "Logan") is captured and blackmailed by the Canadian government to take part in WX with the Americans.

Well thats what I've heard, but I think it's more realistic to think the big heads at Marvel didn't think Wolverine would be as recognizable with a new actor. Which is nothing bad really, considering the bang up job Jackman did with the X-Men films, he was the main star of all of them.

skywalker - February 15, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
He did do a good job. The insanity while fighting was portrayed better in the first 2, the 3rd for some reason they had to go all love theme with him. Wolverine was a borderline physco, I highly doubt he would have ever shown such a soft side for Gene. I don't know why movies always have to do that.

solidfox - February 15, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
Been looking forward to this movie, but never heard of the whole Sabertooth being main villan in it. Strange since it is a prequal and in X1 it was supposed to be the first they met....hmm.

Anyway, while Jackmen is very ripped either way, this picture seems touched up though. The lighting is a tad different, and it wouldn't shock me if they shopped it to make him look a tad more ripped then he really is...I mean with a teaser poster you've gotta make it look the best you can.

WHiTeFaLCoN - February 15, 2008 12:49 PM (GMT)
I heard that Vinnie Jones was coming back to play Juggernaut in the film.

Ahhh theres our future Solid Snake,

Funny thing about that is, Harry Gregson-Williams is composing the music as well... Two future MGS movie stars hopefully.

For further info if you guys haven't given it a glance yet.

Not a fan of Victor Creed/Sabretooth being in it...cause of the fact that this movie takes place two decades before X1...and that made it seem like X1 was their first encounter with each other.

Also, that kinda kicks away the idea of a lot of the other X-men making a quick cameo...unless it shows them as lil kids.

I'll edit that...cause now I'm thinking that they might meet before he gets the alloy set in him...therefore he will forget what happened before that and forget Sabretooth... but still...BOTH of them had acted like they didn't know each other in X1...still bugs me.

Btw, Liev Schreiber will be playing Sabretooth this time around.

And the best news... GAMBIT!!!!! Gam---fucking BIT!!!

and...and...DEADPOOL!!!!!

Two childhood idols!!

How many people know Wolverine from something other than the cartoons?

I've been more and more upset with all the Marvel movies that have came out since... about the second X-Men. The problem is, studios are keeping away from the true storylines from the comics to make it more appealing, which is. in turn, making it worse.

On the other hand, they're sometimes cool to watch. Wolverine has always been a cool character. There's no telling when the movie would take place because of his long age. Wolverine was sent, with Captain America, to Nazi Germany on rescue missions and the like. He and Sabretooth competed for the adamantium skeleton, but only his body could survive. I dunno, he had a long history.

solidfox - February 17, 2008 09:52 AM (GMT)
One thing I always liked about him was his age. Personally it was a mystery to me cause I never looked into it much. But it seems this movie will deal with that and tell you. That link said something about the cold war so you know it dates to at least back then.

Ha ha thats cool Solidfox, did you know that David Hayter wrote X-men 1 & 2 lol. Plus another little bit of trivia for you here, David Hayter played Wolverine in X-men Evolutions so if Hugh Jackman was to play Solid Snake in the movie then it would be like Hugh is David's live action counterpart lol.
And YES a new Sabertooth and YES motherfuckin GAMBIT, thats badass, monami. I just hope they get someone good to play him.

Helikaon - February 17, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
Schreiber is playing Sabretooth? What the fuck, I heard he was playing Stryker.

And another WTF, Gambit? Why?

Deadpool, fair enough, he was also in the Weapon X program so that makes sense.

iAn - February 17, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
OMFG, Gambit and Deadpool?

Total win.

Hell, Deadpool should have his own movie!

dJdC - February 18, 2008 03:05 AM (GMT)
I want to see Omega Red or Apocalypse in a movie but I know thats not going to happen. In my mind Walverine was the main charector in the other 2 movies already. I feel he had the most on screen time

Also to add, Hayter played in X-1...he was the cop at the end that said, "This ones still alive" or somehting along those lines.

People, wolverine in the x-men movis was suffering from Amnesia. Sabretooth knew who he was but Logan didn't...and this movie will explain and show that.

As for Marvel's movies in general, the spider-man movies were a huge dissapointment and I'm a huge spidey fan. The fantastic 4 was garbage, DD was a joke, don't get me started on Elektra. Balde 1 and kicked ass but blade 3 was a turd fest, punisher could have been better, Ghost Rider made me want to cry, hulk was a visual sedative.

However, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk look set to rectify many of the mistakes, studios have made with Marvel's characters. We've got a great and talented cast for both respectove movies, these movies may just change the face for Mravel's characters. Punisher war zone looks ok though.

i dont keep up with comics anymore but i know things here and there. and from what i gather of Wolverine is that he is over 100 years old even way older than that due to the heeling powers therefore, so he stays young. and sabertooth is even older than him.

i just hope its not as dissapointing as the Xmen movies, hopefully HULK and Ironman are better too, they have top class actors in them this time round. the acting in Spiderman and Xmen movies was terrible and quite cheesy if i say so myself.

snakeinthegear - February 18, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
Yeah, wolverine was born in the 1800s and his real name is James but thats all we know.

I'm more of a spidey fan when it comes to comics and Sam Raimi pretty much raped and butchered every sinle character in all of his 3 movies. Ugh!

I know that much, and that is why I said I liked him. One of the only reasons...growing up I was more of a Gambit and Deadpool fan myself.

EDIT: And to be honest...I'm not to happy about it. Not sure who I wanted to play the role...but I just don't seem content with him.

Taylor Kitsch is Gambit in Wolverine
Source: Chaos Bringer February 19, 2008

Scooper 'Chaos Bringer' has revealed on Superhero Hype!'s message boards that "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.

He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the 20th Century Fox release, opening May 1, 2009.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Twentieth Century Fox has added three more superheroes to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," with Ryan Reynolds set to play Deadpool, "Friday Night Lights" regular Taylor Kitsch to star as Gambit and hip-hop artist will.i.am joining the cast as John Wraith.

Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston and Lynn Collins round out the cast as Victor Creed/Sabretooth, Col. William Stryker and Kayla Silver Fox, respectively.

Hugh Jackman reprises the role of Wolverine in the "X-Men" spinoff that Gavin Hood is lensing in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans. Pic bows May 1, 2009.

David Benioff penned the script, which would reveal the origins of the Wolverine character and introduce other mutants not yet seen in the "X-Men" franchise.

Marvel has been eyeing the possibility of casting Reynolds as Deadpool, an assassin with self-healing powers, for some time with the idea of spinning off the character into his own film series should the character prove popular among moviegoers.

Fox and Marvel have also long wanted to add the card-throwing character of Gambit to the "X-Men" franchise but could never find a way to give him enough screen time among the many other mutants that have appeared in each film.

Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am will play Wraith, a mutant who has the power to teleport, and is another test subject of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine and other mercenaries. It would be his first film role.

Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter are producing with Jackman and his Seed Prods. producing partner John Palermo. Marvel's Kevin Feige exec produces.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET! He is awesome. For those that don't know who he is,
