Title: your top 3 stand up comics

Well i really enjoy stand up comedy and my 3 best performers are:

Eddie izzard, he or she (male lesbian if you will) has a great mix of simple jokes and political jokes making his/her shows very entertaining.

Steven Wright: One surreal joke after another forming a reality that sucks you in a void of laughter.

Dave Chappalle: The king of casual comedy, his jokes are not totally simple, but he never uses his shows to make big political statments.

Honor mention, Mitch Hedberg: He has a style of mixing casual life events with surreal ones, excellent comic a true lost for the show business.

Ed Byrne- Takes the piss out of anything he possibly can

i pretty much chose guys who have totally different styles.

1. Dave Chappelle. genius and hilarious shit can sometimes be sort of educational, i would say he is similar to what Eddie Murphy used to be, but then again most Black comedians are.

2. Russell Peters. is great (Popcorn !Xicken lol) his shows are mostly based on different races and Cultures and stuff. but some times the jokes get too similar.

3. Bill Bailey. funny guy very creative and is a great musician, however i don't like some of the religious jokes he comes up with.

i would've said Eddie Murphy no.1 but he don't do stand up anymore.

Richard Pryor - The Father of Modern Day stand up. Don't believe me? jsut look at most stand up comedians inspiration, almost everyone mentions him.

Eddie Murphy - was one hell of a funny person, especially that one where he had that Michael Jackson sort of suit.

Dave Chappelle - I was a freshman in highschool when I first started hearing his stuff, I can still lsiten to them today and laugh my asss off.

i agree, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor were great and some of my favorites. most black comedians have been inspired by Pryor and use the similar style of jokes. most notably Eddie Murphy, and new generation of Comics were inspired by both.

Bill hicks was probably another one but i havent heard or seen a lot of his stuff so i can't really say much on him.

yeah that Eddie Murphy suit was awesome lol, it was a common sort of wear amongst African Americans in the 80s, some famous'ish people who wore them were Prince, Michael Jackson, Issac hayes probably others too. there was a racist term used by Italian Americans to describe these suits but i will not say what it is.

Lee Evans - I'm very fortunate to have tickets to see him later this year. He cracks me up.

Bill Bailey - Some of the stuff he comes up with is at times both very clever and very bizarre. I like bizarre and random comedy.

Roy "Chubby" Brown - His vulgarity is legendary.

I also saw a 10-15 minute set by a bloke called Michael McIntyre recently. Thought he was quite good.

White&Nerdy - February 20, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
Ken Dodd- has always been my favourite.
Tommy Cooper- legend.
Chris Rock- i just find him funny.

People I don't find funny are Al Murray and Rikcy Gervais oh and billy connolly.

Solid_Bauer - February 20, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
1. Lee Evans - could have died laughing at his XL Tour.

2. Peter Kay - a family favourite. i loved live at the top of the tower. that was hilarious.

3. Chubby Brown - My dad got me into watching this guy. Think I was going red with the blushing and the laughter

Jasper Carrott is pretty funny too ^_^

GreySnake - February 20, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
Richard Pryor - Probably the first stand up comedy I'd ever heard

Bill Hicks - Definitely one of my favorites, I love the tangents and rants he goes on, shame he's dead.

George Carlin - What can be said ? Hilarious guy, and he's been performing since the 70's, churning out pretty awesome shit along the way.

(Honorable mentions : Demetri Martin, Mitch Hedberg, Jim Gaffigan, Dave Chapelle and Eddie Murphy)
