Title: Stargate SG-1
Description: Failed to die with dignity :(

Though I am enjoying the excellent Stargate Atlantis, I can't help but feel sad for SG-1. It was one of the longest running Sci-Fi series, yet I think it died a ludicrous death. Near the end, Dr. Frasier was dead (she was mega hot  ), Hammond left and did fuck all, O'Neil took over but left and guess what replaced them? FARSCAPE ACTORS!!! WTF?!!! I mean I love Farscape but lets face it: Mitchell is Cryton in disguise! You might as well have Dargo come through the gate and become part of the team, and wait! Isn't Scorpios part Wraith? XD

10 years of entertainment, and they make the cackiest, shitest last episode I have ever witnessed. They get stuck in a ship and grow old. BORING!!! I was kinda hoping for some final climactic battle with the Ori (not sure if I spelt it right). And what about the Ori? Are they dead or not? And what about those followers killing in their name?

Carter leaves SG-1 and becomes the boss of Atlantis, but I can't help but think 'hang on, what about the Ori? Shouldn't you be on Earth coming up with some bollocksy new invention to fight the Ori with? You're turning your back on them!' Plus, I loved Elizabeth Wier, she kicked ass! I mean Carter is hot, but in the early days of SG-1, she was gorgeous because she has a pretty face. Now shes got her chest inflated and she is now officialy fake!

I will never be satisfied until an episode comes along on Atlantis where the Ori are killed, and we can move back onto the Wraith who are like a billion times cooler!

I agree. SG-1 was a great show.

Hammond leaving kinda sucked, but then O'Neill had control of the SCG. The show's major downfall was when Richard Dean Anderson chose to leave. After the eighth season, the show should have ended. Everything was wrapped up. The Goa'uld had fallen, the Replicators had been destroyed, and the galaxy was at peace. Season 9 starts up with new people, and the star of the show is now gone... Wtf... I thought season 10 was good, but yeah, that last episode was shit.

Just so you know, there are two SG-1 movies coming out. Stargate SG-1 The Ark of Truth finishes up the story line of the Ori (originally 11 seasons were planned, but the show got cancelled) and the second is Stargate Continuum which finishes up with Ba'al (also going to have O'Neill in it again). So right now on Season 5 of SGA, the Ori story is cleared up, and that is why Amanda Tapping is on Atlantis now.

Anyways, about Stargate Atlantis, yes I agree. I love Carter, she is great, but I preferred Weir as the leader of Atlantis. Weir's actress refuses to return in the fifth season of SGA because she's still upset about being reduced to a recurring character in season 4.

SGA is a great series. I love it, I really do, but it has it's share of disappointments:

-Ford being taken off the cast after season 1, and we still don't know what the hell happened to him after his last appearance in season 2.
-Carson Beckett being killed off. He was a fan favorite and they ax him just like that.
-Weir being reduced to recurring.
-The ship crew of Ancients being killed in a few minutes.. I mean honestly, what the fuck..?

Anyways, both shows have had their shares of disappointments, but I think they are both excellent shows. They really have great story lines, great actors/actresses, and great character development. They are definately the best shows I've seen on TV to date.

(Didn't see the reply until now)

Huh, what do you mean? My avatar has been Anubis for about a month or more now. Before that it was John Sheppard. I've had Stargate avatars for a really long time.

Soz, probably didn't pay attention.

I use to LOVE this show until Richard Dean Anderson left! :( What a blow that was!

My mum and my older sister still watch it. My sister is a Stargate freak! She has all the books. Magazines. DVDs. She's starting to think about getting the figures. Hell, I'd buy the Jack O'Neill figure!

I LOVED "Window of Opportunity"! The episode where Jack and Teal'C are stuck in that time loop! LMAO! Me and my mum were crying with laughter when we first saw that on Sky One. The two playing golf through the stargate was the best part!

I didn't get to see the finale. But from what I heard, it did go out pretty badly. Can remember my mum complaining about it all night and the day after.

Stargate Atlantis is alright though :) I don't watch it that often though.

O'Neil: But what about Teal'C? Come on, does this look like the face of a crazy man? (Silence) Bad example.

O'Neil: But what about Teal'C? Come on, does this look like the face of a crazy man? (Silence) Bad example.

LOL! Oh I love that quote!

Teal'c: Colonel O'Neill has officially informed that I have my...”mojo"... back.

Teal'c: [looking in O'Neill's refrigerator] Are you conducting some sort of scientific experiment, O'Neill?
Young Jack O'Neill: Hey, come on, that salsa's still good.

Daniel Jackson: Wait a minute. I thought the reason why we brought the ship was so that we didn't have to walk.
Samantha Carter: You can't just fly into an alien city. The mission is stealth recon. Meaning undetected.
Jack O'Neill: Meaning *shut up*!

There's one from Window of Opportunity that I love. The scene where O'Neill is sat in the cafeteria with the plate and the tomato and mustard.

O'Neill: Lose it. It means, go crazy. Nuts. Insane. No longer in possesion of ones faculty. Three fries short of a happy meal. Whacko!!!

That one has to be my all time favourite :haha:

Oh good, quotes!

My favorites (none that were mentioned already):

O'Neill: Lucy, I'm home!
Teal'c: I am not Lucy.
O'Neill: Yeah, I know, it's from an old... Nevermind.

Apophis: The Tau'ri have no Chaapa'ai.
Daniel: Oh! Sorry, guess I was wrong. I'm sure your information is correct and... In fact, I'm usually quite wrong, quite unreliable actually. To be honest with you, I'm insane.

Jack: I just walked in with a handfull of ingredients for my world-famous omelette!
Sam: World-famous huh? What's in it?
Jack: Eggs.

LOL! I love that one too!

Cameron Mitchell: Ladies first.
Vala Malduran: [turns to Daniel] Well, then, after you.

Jack O'Neill: If we want to find out who's behind this, we have to do what the Asgard do.
Daniel: You mean bluff?
Jack O'Neill: Yep. We just need to do it without revealing what we know.
Daniel: Which is nothing.
Jack O'Neill: Right. But they don't know we know nothing.

O'Neill: Permission to barge in, Sir?

O'Neill: No, she tried to seduce me.
Daniel Jackson: Oh. *pause* You poor man.

Carter: Are you crazy? It's a paradise.
O'Neill: Yeah, sure, have an apple. What could happen?

Jehuty - March 9, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
Mitchell: WHOA, WHOA, WHOA MAN! Bullets bounce!! :D

I must say I did sort of give up with SG1, in fact by the end the only reason I was watching it was because Claudia Black and Ben browder were in it. I believe that it should have ended with season 6, before they brought Daniel Jackson back.

Also, I couldn't agree more about the last episode being a huge let down, expecting some big epic - budget breaking - space battles and we got stuck on a space ship ...

Thankfully, Arc Of Truth is a much better ending to the series. I managed to see an early version of it a while back and its a much more fitting end to the series and the Ori story line. I'm also very much looking forward to Continuum later in the year, which looks to be very good.

Jack (to Doc. Frasier): I ask you, what could possibly be in my eye that would explain this?

Daniel: Think about it, who would build a time machine that loops time every 10 hours?
Jack: Who knows! But that's what it does.

Daniel: If we really have had this conversation before, then I probably pointed it out to you that there's no way I can translate this entire text in less than a day.
Jack: I'm one step ahead of you... I put the whole thing on tape last time. So you don't have to start from scratch.
Daniel: If what you say is true, then when the loop started again... your recording wouldn't have happened yet.
Jack: Yeah... right.
Teal'c: Did I not say your plan would be unsuccessful?
Jack: Careful! Be careful!

Jack: Weren't we just somewhere else?
Daniel: Where?
Jack: Some planet.
Daniel: When?
Jack: Just now.
Daniel: No.
Jack: Ya sure?
Daniel: Yeah...

Ah, gotta love that episode. Definately my favorite.

Definately! That episode was fantastic! I loved the whole juggling scene too between Jack and Teal'C where Daniel is going over the writing that was on the ruins

O'Neill: We'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
Bra'tac: No, the bridge is too well guarded.
O'Neill: No, actually, there I was using a cliche.

Jackson: Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music.
O'Neill: Sex, drugs, and rock and roll?

O'Neill: It's "O'Neill," with two L's. There's another Colonel O'Neil with only one L, and he has no sense of humor at all.

O'Neill: Well, it's hard to say.
Thornbird: Some sort of state secret?
O'Neill: No, just difficult to pronounce.

O'Neill: All right, I gotta know. What the hell does "kree" mean?
Jackson: Well, actually, it means a lot of things. Loosely translated it means "attention," "listen up," "concentrate—"
O'Neill: "Yoo hoo"?

Teal'c: Have you not read the Bible, O'Neill?
O'Neill: Oh, yeah, yeah... Not all of it. Actually, I'm listening to it on tape. Don't tell me how it ends

Snake Liquid - March 11, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
Here's some good Ba'al/O'Neill moments:

Ba'al: Imputence!
O'Neill: No, tuna.

Ba'al (different time): Imputence!
O'Neill: I don't know the meaning of the word. Seriously, imputence... what does that mean?

Ba'al: You can not be serious.
O'Neill: Yes I can. I just choose not to. Some of the time..

Ba'al: You dare mock me?
O'Neill: Of course I dare mock you.

O'Neill: Take no offense there skippy. I'm sure you're a hot important Goa'uld.
Ba'al: I am Ba'al.
O'Neill: As in botche?

Just some more good O'Neill moments:

O'Neill: You ended that sentence with a preposition! Bastard!

O'Neill (while shooting replicators): Who's your daddy!

O'Neill: Wow...
Daniel: That's, uh..
O'Neill and Daniel: Ambitious.

O'Neill: Teal'c... what's with the hair?

O'Neill: Yeah.. ok.. sure.. I buy that. Uh huh. The three of us. The world, we save it.

Sam: The clue for seven down is 'celestial body'. He wrote Uma Thurman.
Jack: Yes..

Sheppard: That was different.
O'Neill: For me... not so much.

EDIT: The Ark of Truth just redeemed the crappy end of the series. It was an amazing movie, in my opinion. I won't say much, because I don't want to ruin it for people, and I'm too lazy to bother with the spoiler tags.

The next movie, Continuum, should be even better. Here's proof to that statement:
Continuum

Snake Liquid - April 14, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
Damn, this has been dead a month. I'm gonna bump it up to the top.

Anyways, Stargate Continuum is supposed to be a pretty massive movie. They say production costs or something to that nature is the only thing preventing this movie from going to theatres. It's supposed to be loads better that Ark of Truth, and shows considerable character development.

The best part, however, is that Richard Dean Anderson plays a "substantial role" in the movie as both General and Colonel Jack O'Neill.

I'll have to agree that the show ended very very poorly. even the movie wasnt good enough for me. I could go into detail on that but that would envolve effort with posting spoiler tags and such lol. The show should have ended with season 8. it's just not the same without Oniell.

That is AWESOME news!!!!!! :D :D ^_^ ^_^ :D ^_^ :D ^_^

CAN'T WAIT to see this! I loved the first movie they brought out. I can't remember the title. A little tired right now. Was it Ark of Truth or something?

Whatever it was, that was great. Need to buy it on DVD when it comes out over here.

Can't wait for the next one even more now that RDA is back! :D
