yes, it was in news yesterday, it starts filming next month in canada. directed by "romeo must die" director Andrzej Bartkowiak.
some confirmed characters and actors are:
Chun Li = Kristen Kreuk (Smallville)
Balrog = Michael Clarke Duncan. (green mile)
Charley/Nash = Chris Klein (American Pie)
Gen = Rick Yune (The Fast and the Furious, 007 (die another day?))
other actors with unknown roles:
Chang Pei Pei (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)
Moon Bloodgood ?
Edmund Chen
Black Eyed Peas dude Taboo. LOL
i'm geting excited about this project, just hope they get better actors for Ken and Ryu this time around.

Sounds like it has potential, wonder who's gonna be picked for Ryu, Ken, and Guile. Hopefully not the fresnch dude again, Guile is suppose to be american :P.

yeah the original movie was carp!!! i shal remain will out expectation of it being good.... mostly coz of DOA! Tekken might be better coz i heard jet li was ment to be in it. two guesses as to who he will play *coughlawcough*

hopefully they choose a real Japanese dude for Ryu (some actors from tha Yakuza movie look alright), most of the actors here seem to be chinese and from what i recall of street fighter there aren't many chinese characters!
chun-li, fei long and gen are the only ones i know.
that taboo guy is rumored to be VEGA? he is mexican and tall (vega was spanish) so he fits the bill.

Considering the quality of all fighting game movies so far, my hopes aren't high. <_< I was one of the fools who went to see DOA. Please God, no more! Let us have one decent fighting game film!

The first Street Fighter movie was a joke, and I was really disappointed with how little they focused on Ryu, not to mention that Guile looked fruity. As long as they stay more faithful to the characters, I'll probably watch it.
Both animated movies were awesome.

i preffered the animated series actually, the anime movie and alpha movie were really cheesey and had stupid stories more than that of other cheesy animes.

Anywho, I think the movie would be great as a computer generated cartoon instead of live action.
