Gatsby - February 24, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Rocko's and Real Monsters and such were out when I was like 3 or 4.
But I remember I am Weasel, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cow and Chicken, Two Stupid Dogs, Dexter's Lab.
Those were the glory days. When cartoons were actually wittily written, not days I can't watch a show on Cartoon Network without throwing something at my TV.
sadistic_greyfox - February 24, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
I used to like Angry Beavers a hell of alot as well as stick stickler. All that was pretty cool back in the day too, had some pretty decent gust sometimes.
Young Snake - February 24, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
There were random "What a Cartoon" episodes. Loved those. A show called Banana Splits that I never understood.
Ginge88 - February 24, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
All I remember is Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken & Hey Arnold.

What about Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Double Dare, and Hey Dude. Man I miss the old days where there was quality programming for kids. And the original SNICK and All That were great.
Cardboard Box Junkie - February 24, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
Pete and Pete is the greatest show ever.
I need to find it on DVD, I haven't seen it in years. Awesomeness.
sadistic_greyfox - February 25, 2008 12:01 AM (GMT)
I remember I used to like Doug quite a bit as well as "Are you afraid of The Dark"
Cardboard Box Junkie - February 25, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah, Doug was an awesome show. What was his superhero? Quail man or something like that? Haha, I miss that show.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? scared the crap out me when I was younger.
Webbie - February 25, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
^LOL, me too. I only watched it a couple times, but it freaked the crap out of me every time. I'd lay in bed later those nights with my eyes wide open, and wouldn't close them until I fell asleep.
For sure I remember all of those old shows. I was into Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Rugrats, and I'm sure there's several others I'm forgetting.
I actually caught Rocko and Ren & Stimpy on TV a few days back. I couldn't help but watch some of both. I didn't recognize the Ren & Stimpy episode, but I did remember that particular episode of Rocko. It was the one where Heffer accidently fed Spike a vitamin, and according to the show when you feed an animal a vitamin they explode, so they rushed Spike to the doctor while those two little things inside Spike's belly (I forgot their names) find the vitamin and think it's gonna make them a fortune.
Yeahup, I used to love that show.

Dogs name was Spunky not spike, :thumb:
One of my favorite cartoons of all time.
The Passion - February 25, 2008 09:11 AM (GMT)
I remember Rockos Modern Life and Angry Beavers (Stupid ehh stupid ehh stupid ehh) but i dont remember the rest. I have always wondered though what animal is Rocko or is he just some animal that dosent exist in real life.

Metal_girl_Solid - February 25, 2008 10:41 AM (GMT)
Earthworm Jim, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Power Rangers, that first season, Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, X-men TAS....
Man.... too bad most of them don't come back
solidfox - February 25, 2008 10:48 AM (GMT)
Where I'm from I use charter cable, and there are four or five different chanles that loop all these old shows. 105-110. They are on every day, all day.
God Told Me to Skin You Alive - February 25, 2008 10:56 AM (GMT)
Angry Beavers ftw, that was the cartoon back in the day.
Rugrats, Catdog, Rocko's Modern Life and Dragonball z... sigh. Good stuff.
skywalker - February 25, 2008 04:12 PM (GMT)
Man, I had forgotten about real monsters. I miss the old days of nick as well. They had good kid cartoons on. Now its all about learning and shows for retards that say its ok to suck at life. I cant remember the friday night lineup but it was something like
Salute your shorts (wasn't that the one about camp anawana?)
Pete & Pete
Then Are you afraid of the dark.
I loved those days. Did anyone watch the secret world of alex mack? I was like in love with her.
Here is a good website for all of those old schools shows. The definately dont make em like this anymore.
Nick Shows
FearHeldDear - February 25, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
Camp Anawana, we love you in our hearts
When we think about you, it makes us wanna - FART!
Salute Your Shorts was the best show ever. Nick GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats (until Dil came, then it started to suck), Doug, Hey Arnold, Pete & Pete, Hey Dude, Alex Mack, Ahh! Real Monsters, the old, old All That (when Lori Beth Denberg did the advice segment, there were the awesome Goodburger skits, etc.)... Great shit. Even Spongebob was awesome, but that's much more recent. Nick used to destroy
Then there was the ultimate - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and (the first) Power Rangers on whatever channel they were on.
solidfox - February 25, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
I can't recall 100% what channel power rangers were on either...I'm mostly leaning towards Fox...NBC second because I remember they used to have Saturday morning cartoons as well...think thats were the Ninja Turtles played. As well as classic X-men and Spider Man.
Donatello ftw!

Was it really? Wow, I just watched the show like 4-5 days ago and I've already forgotten. Perfect example of how terrible my memory is.
Speaking of terrible memory, I totally forgot about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and also the old Super Mario Bros series. I used to own a bunch of VHS tapes of both. Those were probably my favorites back in those days.
Young Snake - February 28, 2008 12:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the Ninja Turtles were sweet, I was all for Donnatello with the kendo stick.
The Power Rangers was fun as well, but everything after the first season just got boring or confusing.

Ahh old favorites... Now we got to hassle with all of this poorly written crap(Inuyasha I'm looking at you)... Also I'd like to add Gundam to the list, as everyone has stopped showing it... :(
BigBoss14 - February 29, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
UHHH don't forget about Doug!!!
solidfox - February 29, 2008 12:50 PM (GMT)
Did you know that the guy that does the voice over for Doug does voices for
Futurama- Fry, Zapp, Dr. Zoidberg, Professer Farnsworth, Nixon, Mr. Wong, as well as many others.
Looney Toons - Elmer Fudd
Ren & Stimpy - Stimpy!
Space Jam - Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, some others
and also some roles on both Family Guy and The Simpsons..
blah sorry to ramble, I just like his voice work and his history of good shows and movies.

I can definitely hear it in Fry and Stimpy.

I didn't know that. That's crazy. Then again, people who can do voices like Elmer Fudd and Stimpy can likely do several other types of voices, as we see with this guy.
Speaking of which, I totally forgot about the Looney Tunes as well. I definitely watched a lot of them as a kid.
I've actually been watching a little Rocko's Modern Life lately. It's on the Nicktoons channel (not regular Nick) at 2:00 PM Monday through Friday. When I'm surfing through the channels during the week I usually take a look at it. I recognize pretty much every episode I see.
jc55 - March 1, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
Dudes, Hey Arnold was awesome.
Most of the time, I'd come back form school/college feeling like dirt. I always had a friend in Arnold and the gang. Man I'ma see if it's on tomorrow.
Sn4ke23 - March 2, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
My favorite old shows on Nick and Cartoon Network:
NICK:
1. Goosebumps
2. Are you afraid of the Dark?
3. Weinerville
4. Rocko's Modern Life
Cartoon Network:
1. ReBoot
2. DBZ
3. Thundercats
4. Cow and Chicken
5. I am Weasel
etc...etc...

I can't believe I've yet to mention this; more than likely because it's a new show rather than an old one, but I've just gotta say that SpongeBob is pure awesomeness! I was a total SpongeBob hater until I sat down with my 4-year-old sister and gave it a chance. That show seriously isn't intended for kids, though it's not as if they understand 90% of the jokes.

Same here. I've always hated Spongebob and I'm 21 right now. About a month ago I watched it and liked it. I couldn't believe it either...though his laugh still annoys me. >=[
FearHeldDear - March 2, 2008 04:37 PM (GMT)
I've always loved Spongebob. It was probably the last good show to come out of Nick.
