Title: Games with subtitles
Description: Call me wierd, I care not

I think games with no sound and with subtitles are kinda fun! Why?
In secret, I read the lines out in silly voices while playing when I am on my own. Its great fun! All those hours I spent saying Barrett from FF7s lines in a Mr T voice where fucking brilliant!
Anyone else do this, or am I the only one?

These are the most fun games. That is why I fell in love with the FF games. FFIX and FFVIII...my god it was always fun to play them. Besides, I have a slight hearing problem so it is always easier to read then to just hear. Also, the games always had to have a great musical score to make up for no other sounds.

I have mixed feelings, I mean when playing MGS for example i tend to glance down and read the writing than watch a cutscene, but I think it works.
RPGs have a big reputation for using alot of text.

MGS is different though. MGS has voice overs, I believe he was talking about games with no voice overs, just all subtitles. But anyway, for games like MGS, since I have a hearing lose, I am used to ALWAYS reading subtitles for movies and stuff, and personally I don't see how people can't read and watch at the same time. I read every word and see every thing thats happening at the same time.

I like voiceovers + subtitles together, but at times I dislike it. Sometimes I read the text when I should just be listening and watching the cutscene, but sometimes when I'm not reading the text I misinterpret some of what the characters are saying.
All in all, I prefer subtitles as well as voiceovers.

I don't mind subtitles but I remember playing Okami and I was so freaking annoyed reading long and stupid conversations - don't get me wrong, the game was a lot of fun but the subtitle thing didn't really add to the fun.

Well, I like a selection of both, it would be horrible if every game I owned was either text or voice acted.
I don't tend to make silly voices out of text on FF games but its certainly true FF1-9 wouldn't be the same with voice acting. I can't think what kind of voice they would get for someone like Cecil or Squall or Zidane. Or any other RPGs for that matter. Even in RPGs nowadays, not everything is spoken, only cutscenes are spoken, when you go around talking to people and whatnot, it is text.
MGS would be annoying without voice acting, as would many other games like FPS' etc.

I never liked subtitles. Even during movies, I'd complain about turning them off. It's like watching a widescreen movie...it's in the way. I'd prefer sound over anything text-related.

Hate them, I must prefer listening to good voice acting then having to read endless text.

There is a truth to this, however I just do it to act silly.
It's fun,but only when you want it to. Otherwise it gets stupid.
Quoting the main male characters in h-games is the place I do it the most.
''I ejaculated my sperm''- I was laughing on the floor while quoting that one. ^_^
