Title: The Sims 3?
Description: March 19

The Sims 3 on March 19?, that are good news I would say if it is true. They should make Sims 3 with all the expansion packs for Sims 2 merged, and better graphics too. Hope it is so :)

For me, Sims was a game for people that don't have their own damned life,so they have to live in a virtual instead. The only part that amused me is the ability to speed up time and watch as the little virtual pricks piss themselves, fall asleep on the floor and watching them become just plain crazy. This is more of a game for people that aren't used to communicating with other people,or for just plain nerds . I know it sounds harsh but that's the truth and the truth always hurts.

I see that you really don't like the Sims games, but it's your opinion...
Liquidon Snake - March 6, 2008 01:09 PM (GMT)
I shamelessly say that I consistently buy expansion packs for The Sims 2, and here's my reasoning:
I don't spend as much time playing it as I do just using it to create things. I started with the basic Sims 2 by creating myself (probably a couple hundred times, since it took me a while to catch on to the whole "expansion pack" thing) and my home. When the first expansion pack, University, came out, I tried creating various buildings of local colleges. Nightlife brought me to try creating a few restaurants/stores that I knew of.
The point I'm trying to make is that it has something for everybody, if you really care enough to try. Besides, the game is so modifiable that judging it by its base content (even with all the expansion packs) would be ignorant of all its true potential. Don't believe me? Just take a look at www.modthesims2.com
Now look at me. I'm a healthy Sims 2 player. I have a good social life (and no, I didn't use TS2 to teach me anything about that), I get out often, I stay active in life, and I do well in my academics.
There is hope, people! There is hope indeed!
Then again, who wouldn't get a bit of a laugh out of seeing something like this in their game?

(technically not nudity - there are no phallic polygons anyway)

No No no no NO!
Sims is not a no-lifer game, the game is strangely not like life and I'm sure it is far from being a compensation for life. Sims was made for the same reason as everyother simulation type game out there - for fun, nothing like this crap you are babbling on about. Not entertaining? Its not the best selling PC game for no reason, PLENTY of people find it fun, including myself.
I'm glad Sims 3 is coming out, but I'm wondering what they could possibly add which they haven't?
Panda - March 6, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
I think sims is pointless unless they create it to be more advanced and realistic. But...it was fun. Good find though.
Liquidon Snake - March 6, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
Perhaps they added a "laundry" component. Man, that'd be hectic.
God Told Me to Skin You Alive - March 6, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
Oh God... just think, if they numbered every goddamn expansion pack, they'd be selling Sims: 900 insted of just 3.
Yackemflaber - March 7, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
cool
Although I don't know what else they can really do to make it all that better.
I'm not addicted to The Sims 2, but I definately go through phases where I really get involved in my Sims' lives, mainly because I'm obsessed with storytelling and human psychology, and this game lets me play with and in a way learn about both of thse

I have to disagree here, although I don't really like Sims and I have played it for 30min. the max in one session, but still it is not a no lifer, game for people who can't socialize or whatever crap you mean. For starters, the game doesn't similar to real life at all. When they don't like something they complain, like to a god, that they want something and they even won't make they're own food, or go to a piss and they don't socialize unless you tell them. So my gaming sessions have always ended in death of the characters and in boredom for me. Besides I know a few people who like the game and socialize a lot, I don't know what made you write this (maybe your own experience) but your wrong. It's like saying if you play call of duty you are a wannabe soldier that can't join the army or whatever. Or saying if you play midnight club, you are a wannabe driver, who doesn't have the courage to street race in real life. Playing a game doesn't mean that you want to be in the game and play it 24/7. No, it's about entertainment.
Anyway, I'm not hyped for it, probably won't get it and probably won't play it at a friends house, unless he tells me to try it for a while. < reason stated above.

Why do you say that?
There were a large amount of changes from Sims 1 to Sims 2.

Yeah, there were changes. I hope that in Sims 3 will be more changes, and not just better graphics.

Then you're in for a dissapointment. It'll be Sims 2 vanilla with new resource-hogging graphics and if you want your old stuff back you just gotta wait for the expansions.
In short, be prepared to be bumraped by EA. Again.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I heard of one change to the game. They're removing the character happiness bars.

Sims 3 official Latest version of Will Wright's phenomenally successful franchise coming to the PC in 2009. By Emma Boyes, GameSpot UK Posted Mar 19, 2008 3:15 pm GMT
Earlier this month, a teaser site popped up on the Internet promising that more information on The Sims 3 would be coming on March 19. Well, D-Day has come, and Electronic Arts has made it official: The Sims 3 is indeed en route.
The third stand-alone game in the Sims series will feature a new engine, which EA has been slaving away at for three years, and the biggest new feature will be the ability to seamlessly move around an open neighbourhood.
Previous games in the Sims series were expanded by packs such as The Sims: Hot Date, and The Sims: Vacation, which let gamers take their sims on holiday or into town with a beau, for example, but these communal zones were always separate from sims' abodes.
In the next game, the sims will be able to walk freely around their neighbourhoods, visit their pals, and venture to new locations such as City Hall and the local park.
There will also be a "deeper" system for governing how sims behave, called the Realistic Personality System, which will let gamers manipulate five character traits when creating their sims. This opens up a number of possibilities, or as EA puts it: "Will you create the nosy, inappropriate, kleptomaniac grandmother who loves to meddle in other people's business? Or the commitment-phobic, hot-headed punk rocker whose rude nature and childish disposition keeps him from scoring a date?" Apparently, 700 million different combinations await.
Customising both the sims themselves and the items around them will also become an easier and deeper experience, EA says. The upgrades include fine tuning for every part of sims' faces, and a new set of design tools for customising items for their houses.
The first Sims game was released in 2000, and since then the series has sold some 98 million games worldwide, and has been translated into 22 different languages.
The Sims 3 is being developed by Electronic Arts Redwood Shores and will be shipping worldwide on the PC in 2009. There is no mention of it coming to any console platforms. |
These are the new news :D
We can move in the neighbourhood freely, cool B)
Liquidon Snake - March 20, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
Damn, 2009? I would've figured they'd have it done sooner than that! I hate getting worked up about something (the exception being MGS, because we have kickass trailers and media releases) and having to wait forever for it.

oh great that means Im going to have to get a new computer bc Im sure the specs will be crazy
