I purchased Guitar Hero 3 two days ago after playing at a friends house. I had very little time to play on it because he was being a hog so I got say 15 minutes of experience. Once I got the game I played it for the rest of the day (4 hours) and i was rather pleased with myself beating the 12 songs in career on easy mode of course.

So I got to school the next day and tell my friend I beat 12 songs and he says "how much stars" and i told him "i got three stars on all of them" and he stares at me in disbelief "and says tell me you at least got 4 on Bulls On Parade" and i say "no Bulls On Parade is hard man" and hes like "AWW YOU SUCK" and then I say "like you got 4 stars on the first day" and he says "yeah I did".

So now im pissed I go straight to medium mode(which i have never played before) hit quickplay and complete "When You Were Young" "Miss Murder" "Baracuda" "Schools Out" and "Hit Me With Your Best shot" on my second day of playing(6Hours).

So I go to his house the next day and he still critizes my playing so im thinking to myself "Am I really that bad" or "Is he just an ungrateful son of a B****" what do you think be honest.

EDIT:I also beat Even Flow on Medium

You're not that bad, you're just not used to it.
I know friends who play on easy and barely get 3-4's. I just bought Guitar hero 2 and got 4's and one 5 on easy line up, but thats because I've played GHI for so long.
Your friend is just being cocky, and sounds like he's trying to show off.

If its your first days, your doing fine..

I completed Easy on the first week or two, and now I've completed Medium with 3 and 4 stars..

Also it's only a game...who gives a shit. If he laughs at you saying your really poor, take the piss out of him for wasteing his time on a pointless game..
