Title: Red ring of failure
Description: No offense to all you Xbox lovers

http://us.i1.yimg.com/videogames.yahoo.com...failure/1192354What pisses me off is the fact that so many people place blind faith in Microsoft. It's like Microsoft is openly asking its customers to
get ripp
ed off, and the cus
tomers shout out
an orgasmic "yeah" (like the one you hear in porn flicks! <_<)!
I mean, there's nothing that Microsoft
produces that doesn't reek of errors!
Sigh... and they actually want
MGS4 to come out on that thing!
Again, I mean no disrespect to all you Xbox
360 owners.
Johnyman - March 9, 2008 09:43 AM (GMT)
It's mostly due to overheating.
Just get a good cooling system and it's ok.
I just overclocked my PC and I use a giant fan to prevent overheating :D
It actually works. People should consider these strange methods ^_^
P.S. Even a moron would see that secret message...
psycho raven - March 9, 2008 09:51 AM (GMT)
All that trouble to get a "state-of-the-art", "next-gen" console to work properly?!
Sheesh
God Told Me to Skin You Alive - March 9, 2008 09:54 AM (GMT)
Yeah, screw that man. Microsoft are seriously the worst. All this 'Ring of Death' nonsense is not unlike the 'Blue Screen of Death' that plagued Windows back in the day. I agree, it's amazing how much 'blind faith' people put in them after so many failures!

I know. :P But come on, I don't think people would've caught it if I hadn't put the letters in bold.

What the fuck is the point of this thread? Everyone knows about the issue with RROD. This thread screams for *Bash this thread, Flames are welcome".
Fucking hate fanboys.
No offense to you, topic creator.
Helikaon - March 9, 2008 02:35 PM (GMT)
The RROD is annoying at best, every 360 I have owned has had it happen, so thats 8 consoles that have messed up.
But I hold no ill towards Microsoft. With the 360, when it's good and working; it's the best of the current gen.
OcelotSnake - March 9, 2008 02:43 PM (GMT)
I'm sure that this has already been posted in another thread but this made me laugh:
http://kotaku.com/358646/xbox-360-s-up-at-...part-ii-of-manyA RROD and a fucked disc drive on two different GDC demo kiosks? Get your act together Microsoft.

None taken. :)
True, everyone knows about the RROD, but I don't think anyone has expressed enough emotion about it. I may have started the thread as a result of "fanboyish impulse", but not without a good reason. The product is a nuisance -- just like every other product made by Microsoft.

So you've paid for all eight 360s?
There you go. Microsoft is like a big, giant, ugly corporate leach. Where's a great, big, parejo habanos when you need one?
By the way, sorry if this topic has been discussed before. I guess I missed it.

My roommates and I share all 3, a Wii, a PS3 and a 360 and like 'em all....

I have an N64...
HolySpawn - March 9, 2008 04:36 PM (GMT)
You dont pay for the 360's if you get the RROD you just take out your hard drive (memory) phone Microsoft and you just send it back in the box they give you.

i took mine back to gamestop, twice,it broke 2 times in 2 weeks i didn't pay shit besides the 400 for the 1st one
Roy Campbell - March 9, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
The Xbox 360 failure rate is simply a joke. The console cost is far too high to have thw amount of errors it does have. The reason for all the RRODs is the shit quality of the consoles components.

Yeah, I didn't have to pay to get mine repaired, but that still doesn't make up for the fact it shouldn't have broke in the first place.
psycho raven - March 9, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
^ Oh okay. Excuse my ignorance, for a second there I thought you had to go out and buy a new console when all else failed.
That would've seriously been fucked up!
Helikaon - March 9, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
I've paid for 3 consoles (2 Premium, 1 Elite), with 4 replacements.
I couldn't be arsed to send off for a replacement for the last RROD (Elite variant).
But as I said, I hold no ill towards Microsoft, they always replaced my consoles within a week.
psycho raven - March 9, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
^ Alas! There goes another unfortunate soul... -_-
Just kidding. :P
iAn - March 9, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
Just get the 360 with the new motherboards.
My halo edition has never failed me. Plus I got a warranty where I can literally go in the store and instantly switch it out with a new halo 360 if anything where to happen to mine.
And so far, nothing has happened.
Solid Snake8 - March 10, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
I've had a RROD failure, but Microsoft fixed it and sent it back to me within a week. I still love my 360 more than my friend's Wii and PS3. But whatever system works for you, is what works for you.
Too much fanboyness all the time.
Webbie - March 10, 2008 05:10 AM (GMT)
I'll be totally honest. I bought my 360 back in May of 2007 and I used to play it, well, pretty much constantly. I used to get out of work and play that thing for hours, and when my friends were over it was even longer. Sometimes friends would stay the night and we'd play it all night. I've yet to have any problems with it whatsoever, and I haven't bothered to buy an intercooler or anything.
I will admit, though, that I'm trying to sell it to buy a PS3 :) Again though, to be honest, there's no chance I'd even consider doing this if it wasn't for MGS4. That's pretty much the only reason I want the PS3 at the moment.
BTW, I hate the Wii, lol. I couldn't help but add that.
solidfox - March 10, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
I had all systems. And let me say, it has always pissed me off when people bitched about the ps3 price. Cause in order to get the damn 360 to work even decent you've gotta put in like $1000 for the system...if not, then you've got a burn system.
It does have some great games I'll admit, but I got rid of it for that reason there.
